Neh 1:1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, (kjv)

 Neh 1:1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah. Now it happened in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, while I was in Susa the capitol,

 Neh.1:1 Dies sind die Geschichten Nehemias, des Sohnes Hachaljas. Es geschah im Monat Chislev des zwanzigsten Jahres, da ich war zu Susan auf dem Schloß,

Neh 1:2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. (kjv)

 Neh 1:2 that Hanani, one of my brothers, and some men from Judah came; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped and had survived the captivity, and about Jerusalem.

 Neh.1:2 da kam Hanani, einer meiner Brüder, mit etlichen Männern aus Juda. Und ich fragte sie, wie es den Juden ginge, die errettet und übrig waren von der Gefangenschaft, und wie es zu Jerusalem ginge.

Neh 1:3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. (kjv)

 Neh 1:3 They said to me, "The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire."

 Neh.1:3 Und sie sprachen zu mir: Die übrigen von der Gefangenschaft sind daselbst im Lande in großem Unglück und Schmach; die Mauern Jerusalems sind zerbrochen und seine Tore mit Feuer verbrannt.

Neh 1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, (kjv)

 Neh 1:4 When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

 Neh.1:4 Da ich aber solche Worte hörte, saß ich und weinte und trug Leid etliche Tage und fastete und betete vor dem Gott des Himmels

Neh 1:5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments: (kjv)

 Neh 1:5 I said, "I beseech You, O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,

 Neh.1:5 und sprach: Ach HERR, Gott des Himmels, großer und schrecklicher Gott, der da hält den Bund und die Barmherzigkeit denen, die ihn lieben und seine Gebote halten,

Neh 1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.  Neh 1:6 let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; I and my father's house have sinned.

 Neh.1:6 laß doch deine Ohren aufmerken und deine Augen offen sein, daß du hörst das Gebet deines Knechtes, das ich nun vor dir bete Tag und Nacht für die Kinder Israel, deine Knechte, und bekenne die Sünden der Kinder Israel, die wir an dir getan haben; und ich und meines Vaters Haus haben auch gesündigt.

Neh 1:7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses. (kjv)

 Neh 1:7 We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.

 Neh.1:7 Wir haben an dir mißgehandelt, daß wir nicht gehalten haben die Gebote, Befehle und Rechte, die du geboten hast deinem Knecht Mose.

Neh 1:8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: (kjv)

 Neh 1:8 Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;

 Neh.1:8 Gedenke aber doch des Wortes, das du deinem Knecht Mose gebotest und sprachst: Wenn ihr euch versündigt, so will ich euch unter die Völker streuen.

Neh 1:9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there. (kjv)

 Neh 1:9 but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.'

 Neh.1:9 Wo ihr euch aber bekehrt zu mir und haltet meine Gebote und tut sie, und ob ihr verstoßen wäret bis an der Himmel Ende, so will ich euch doch von da versammeln und will euch bringen an den Ort, den ich erwählt habe, daß mein Name daselbst wohne.

Neh 1:10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand. (kjv)

 Neh 1:10 They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.

 Neh.1:10 Sie sind ja doch deine Knechte und dein Volk, die du erlöst hast durch deine große Kraft und mächtige Hand.

Neh 1:11 O LORD, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.(kjv)

 Neh 1:11 O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man." Now I was the cupbearer to the king.

Neh.1:11 Ach HERR, laß deine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet deines Knechtes und auf das Gebet deiner Knechte, die da begehren deinen Namen zu fürchten; und laß es deinem Knecht heute gelingen und gib ihm Barmherzigkeit vor diesem Manne! Denn ich war des Königs Schenke.

Neh 2:1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. (kjv)

 Neh 2:1 And it came about in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, that wine was before him, and I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence.

 Neh.2:1 Im Monat Nisan des zwanzigsten Jahre des Königs Arthahsastha, da Wein vor ihm stand, hob ich den Wein auf und gab dem König; und ich sah traurig vor ihm.

Neh 2:2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, (kjv)

 Neh 2:2 So the king said to me, "Why is your face sad though you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of heart." Then I was very much afraid.

 Neh.2:2 Da sprach der König zu mir: Warum siehst du so übel? Du bist ja nicht krank? Das ist's nicht, sondern du bist schwermütig. Ich aber fürchtete mich gar sehr

Neh 2:3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? (kjv)

 Neh 2:3 I said to the king, "Let the king live forever. Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies desolate and its gates have been consumed by fire?"

 Neh.2:3 und sprach zu dem König: Der König lebe ewiglich! Sollte ich nicht übel sehen? Die Stadt da das Begräbnis meiner Väter ist, liegt wüst, und ihre Tore sind mit Feuer verzehrt.

Neh 2:4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. (kjv)

 Neh 2:4 Then the king said to me, "What would you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.

 Neh.2:4 Da sprach der König: Was forderst du denn? da betete ich zu dem Gott des Himmels

Neh 2:5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it. (kjv)

 Neh 2:5 I said to the king, "If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it."

 Neh.2:5 und sprach zum König: Gefällt es dem König und ist dein Knecht angenehm vor dir, so wollest du mich senden nach Juda zu der Stadt des Begräbnisses meiner Väter, daß ich sie baue.

Neh 2:6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. (kjv)

 Neh 2:6 Then the king said to me, the queen sitting beside him, "How long will your journey be, and when will you return?" So it pleased the king to send me, and I gave him a definite time.

 Neh.2:6 Und der König sprach zu mir und die Königin, die neben ihm saß: Wie lange wird deine Reise währen, und wann wirst du wiederkommen? Und es gefiel dem König, daß er mich hinsendete. Und ich setzte ihm eine bestimmte Zeit

Neh 2:7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; (kjv)

 Neh 2:7 And I said to the king, "If it please the king, let letters be given me for the governors of the provinces beyond the River, that they may allow me to pass through until I come to Judah,

 Neh.2:7 und sprach zum König: Gefällt es dem König, so gebe man mir Briefe an die Landpfleger jenseit des Wassers, daß sie mich hinübergeleiten, bis ich komme nach Juda,

Neh 2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. (kjv)

 Neh 2:8 and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, for the wall of the city and for the house to which I will go." And the king granted them to me because the good hand of my God was on me.

 Neh.2:8 und Briefe an Asaph den Holzfürsten des Königs, daß er mir Holz gebe zu Balken der Pforten an der Burg beim Tempel und zu der Stadtmauer und zum Hause, da ich einziehen soll. Und der König gab mir nach der guten Hand meines Gottes über mir.

Neh 2:9 Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me. (kjv)

 Neh 2:9 Then I came to the governors of the provinces beyond the River and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.

 Neh.2:9 Und da ich kam zu den Landpflegern jenseit des Wassers, gab ich ihnen des Königs Briefe. Und der König sandte mit mir Hauptleute und Reiter.

Neh 2:10 When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. (kjv)

 Neh 2:10 When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about it, it was very displeasing to them that someone had come to seek the welfare of the sons of Israel.

Neh.2:10 Da aber das hörten Saneballat, der Horoniter, und Tobia, der ammonitische Knecht, verdroß es sie sehr, daß ein Mensch gekommen wäre, der Gutes suchte für die Kinder Israel.

Neh 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. (kjv)

 Neh 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.

 Neh.2:11 Und da ich gen Jerusalem kam und drei Tage da gewesen war,

Neh 2:12 And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. (kjv)

 Neh 2:12 And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding.

 Neh.2:12 machte ich mich des Nachts auf und wenig Männer mit mir (denn ich sagte keinem Menschen, was mir mein Gott eingegeben hatte zu tun an Jerusalem), und war kein Tier mit mir, ohne das, darauf ich ritt.

Neh 2:13 And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire. (kjv)

 Neh 2:13 So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon's Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire.

 Neh.2:13 Und ich ritt zum Taltor aus bei der Nacht und gegen den Drachenbrunnen und an das Misttor; und es tat mir wehe, daß die Mauern Jerusalems eingerissen waren und die Tore mit Feuer verzehrt.

Neh 2:14 Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king's pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass. (kjv)

 Neh 2:14 Then I passed on to the Fountain Gate and the King's Pool, but there was no place for my mount to pass.

 Neh.2:14 Und ging hinüber zu dem Brunnentor und zu des Königs Teich; und war da nicht Raum meinem Tier, daß es unter mir hätte gehen können.

Neh 2:15 Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned. (kjv)

 Neh 2:15 So I went up at night by the ravine and inspected the wall. Then I entered the Valley Gate again and returned.

 Neh.2:15 Da zog ich bei Nacht den Bach hinan; und es tat mir wehe, die Mauern also zu sehen. Und kehrte um und kam zum Taltor wieder heim.

Neh 2:16 And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. (kjv)

 Neh 2:16 The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; nor had I as yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or the rest who did the work.

 Neh.2:16 Und die Obersten wußten nicht, wo ich hinging oder was ich machte; denn ich hatte bis daher den Juden und den Priestern, den Ratsherren und den Obersten und den andern, die am Werk arbeiteten, nichts gesagt.

Neh 2:17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. (kjv)

 Neh 2:17 Then I said to them, "You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach."

 Neh.2:17 Und ich sprach zu ihnen: Ihr seht das Unglück, darin wir sind, daß Jerusalem wüst liegt und seine Tore sind mit Feuer verbrannt. Kommt, laßt uns die Mauern Jerusalems bauen, daß wir nicht mehr eine Schmach seien!

Neh 2:18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. (kjv)

 Neh 2:18 I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king's words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, "Let us arise and build." So they put their hands to the good work.

 Neh.2:18 Und sagte ihnen an die Hand meines Gottes, die gut über mir war, dazu die Worte des Königs, die er zu mir geredet hatte. Und sie sprachen: So laßt uns auf sein und bauen! Und ihre Hände wurden gestärkt zum Guten.

Neh 2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? (kjv)

 Neh 2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard it, they mocked us and despised us and said, "What is this thing you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?"

 Neh.2:19 Da aber das Saneballat, der Horoniter und Tobia, der ammonitische Knecht, und Gesem, der Araber, hörten, spotteten sie unser und verachteten uns und sprachen: Was ist das, das ihr tut? Wollt ihr von dem König abfallen?

Neh 2:20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.(kjv)

 Neh 2:20 So I answered them and said to them, "The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no portion, right or memorial in Jerusalem."

Neh.2:20 Da antwortete ich ihnen und sprach: Der Gott des Himmels wird es uns gelingen lassen; denn wir, seine Knechte, haben uns aufgemacht und bauen. Ihr aber habt kein Teil noch Recht noch Gedächtnis in Jerusalem.

Neh 3:1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel. (kjv)

 Neh 3:1 Then Eliashib the high priest arose with his brothers the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They consecrated the wall to the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel.

 Neh.3:1 Und Eljasib, der Hohepriester, machte sich auf mit seinen Brüdern, den Priestern und bauten das Schaftor. Sie heiligten es und setzten seine Türen ein. Sie heiligten es aber bis an den Turm Mea, bis an den Turm Hananeel.

Neh 3:2 And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri. (kjv)

 Neh 3:2 Next to him the men of Jericho built, and next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.

 Neh.3:2 Neben ihm bauten die Männer von Jericho. Und daneben baute Sakkur, der Sohn Imris.

Neh 3:3 But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. (kjv)

 Neh 3:3 Now the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and bars.

 Neh.3:3 Aber das Fischtor bauten die Kinder von Senaa, sie deckten es und setzten seine Türen ein, Schlösser und Riegel.

Neh 3:4 And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana. (kjv)

 Neh 3:4 Next to them Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz made repairs. And next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah the son of Meshezabel made repairs. And next to him Zadok the son of Baana also made repairs.

 Neh.3:4 Neben ihnen baute Meremoth, der Sohn Urias, des Sohnes Hakkoz. Neben ihnen baute Mesullam, der Sohn Berechjas, des Sohnes Mesesabeels. Neben ihnen baute Zadok, der Sohn Baanas.

Neh 3:5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD. (kjv)

 Neh 3:5 Moreover, next to him the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles did not support the work of their masters.

 Neh.3:5 Neben ihnen bauten die von Thekoa; aber ihre Vornehmeren brachten ihren Hals nicht zum Dienst ihrer Herren.

Neh 3:6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. (kjv)

 Neh 3:6 Joiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.

 Neh.3:6 Das alte Tor baute Jojada, der Sohn Paseahs, und Mesullam, der Sohn Besodjas; sie deckten es und setzten ein seine Türen und Schlösser und Riegel.

Neh 3:7 And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river. (kjv)

 Neh 3:7 Next to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, also made repairs for the official seat of the governor of the province beyond the River.

 Neh.3:7 Neben ihnen bauten Melatja von Gibeon und Jadon von Meronoth, die Männer von Gibeon und von Mizpa, am Stuhl des Landpflegers diesseit des Wassers.

Neh 3:8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall. (kjv)

 Neh 3:8 Next to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah of the goldsmiths made repairs. And next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs, and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.

 Neh.3:8 Daneben baute Usiel, der Sohn des Harhajas, der Goldschmied. Neben ihm baute Hananja, der Sohn der Salbenbereiter; und sie bauten aus zu Jerusalem bis an die breite Mauer.

Neh 3:9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem. (kjv)

 Neh 3:9 Next to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.

 Neh.3:9 Neben ihm baute Rephaja, der Sohn Hurs, der Oberste des halben Kreises von Jerusalem.

Neh 3:10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah. (kjv)

 Neh 3:10 Next to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah made repairs.

 Neh.3:10 Neben ihm baute Jedaja, der Sohn Harumaphs, gegenüber seinem Hause. Neben ihm baute Hattus, der Sohn Hasabnejas.

Neh 3:11 Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces. (kjv)

 Neh 3:11 Malchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub the son of Pahath-moab repaired another section and the Tower of Furnaces.

 Neh.3:11 Aber Malchia, der Sohn Harims, und Hassub, der Sohn Pahath-Moabs, bauten ein andres Stück und den Ofenturm.

Neh 3:12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. (kjv)

 Neh 3:12 Next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs, he and his daughters.

 Neh.3:12 Daneben baute Sallum, der Sohn des Halohes, der Oberste des andern halben Kreises von Jerusalem, er und seine Töchter.

Neh 3:13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate. (kjv)

 Neh 3:13 Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate. They built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall to the Refuse Gate.

 Neh.3:13 Das Taltor bauten Hanun und die Bürger von Sanoah, sie bauten's und setzten ein seine Türen, Schlösser und Riegel, und tausend Ellen an der Mauer bis an das Misttor.

Neh 3:14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. (kjv)

 Neh 3:14 Malchijah the son of Rechab, the official of the district of Beth-haccherem repaired the Refuse Gate. He built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.

Neh 5:5 Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards. Neh 5:9 Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies? (kjv)

 Neh 5:9 Again I said, "The thing which you are doing is not good; should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?

Aber du, mein Gott, vergabst und warst gnädig, barmherzig, geduldig und von großer Barmherzigkeit und verließest sie nicht.

Neh 9:29 And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.  Neh 9:29 And admonished them in order to turn them back to Your law. Yet they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your commandments but sinned against Your ordinances, By which if a man observes them he shall live. And they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck, and would not listen.

 Neh.9:29 Und du ließest ihnen bezeugen, daß sie sich bekehren sollten zu deinem Gesetz. Aber sie waren stolz und gehorchten deinen Geboten nicht und sündigten an deinen Rechten (durch welche ein Mensch lebt, so er sie tut) und kehrten dir den Rücken zu und wurden halsstarrig und gehorchten nicht.

Neh 9:30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands. (kjv)

 Neh 9:30 "However, You bore with them for many years, And admonished them by Your Spirit through Your prophets, Yet they would not give ear. Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

 Neh.9:30 Und du verzogst viele Jahre über ihnen und ließest ihnen bezeugen durch deinen Geist in deinen Propheten; aber sie nahmen es nicht zu Ohren. Darum hast du sie gegeben in die Hand der Völker in den Ländern.

Neh 9:31 Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. (kjv)

 Neh.9:32 Nun, unser Gott, du großer Gott, mächtig und schrecklich, der du hältst Bund und Barmherzigkeit, achte nicht gering alle die Mühsal, die uns getroffen hat, unsre Könige, Fürsten, Priester, Propheten, Väter und dein ganzes Volk von der Zeit an der Könige von Assyrien bis auf diesen Tag.

Neh 9:33 Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly: (kjv)

Neh 9:35 For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works. (kjv)

 Neh 9:35 "But they, in their own kingdom, With Your great goodness which You gave them, With the broad and rich land which You set before them, Did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds.

 Neh 12:47 So all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah gave the portions due the singers and the gatekeepers as each day required, and set apart the consecrated portion for the Levites, and the Levites set apart the consecrated portion for the sons of Aaron.

Neh.12:47 Aber ganz Israel gab den Sängern und Torhütern Teile zu den Zeiten Serubabels und Nehemias, einen jeglichen Tag sein Teil; und sie gaben Geheiligtes für die Leviten, die Leviten aber gaben Geheiligtes für die Kinder Aaron.

Neh 13:5 And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.  Neh 13:5 had prepared a large room for him, where formerly they put the grain offerings, the frankincense, the utensils and the tithes of grain, wine and oil prescribed for the Levites, the singers and the gatekeepers, and the contributions for the priests.

 Neh.13:5 und dahin hatten sie zuvor gelegt Speisopfer, Weihrauch, Geräte und die Zehnten vom Getreide, Most und Öl, die Gebühr der Leviten, Sänger und Torhüter, dazu die Hebe der Priester.

Neh 13:6 But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king: (kjv)

Neh 13:7 And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God. (kjv)

 Neh.13:7 daß ich gen Jerusalem zog. Und ich merkte, daß nicht gut war, was Eljasib an Tobia getan hatte, da er sich eine Kammer machte im Hofe am Hause Gottes;

Neh 13:8 And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber. (kjv)

 Neh 13:8 It was very displeasing to me, so I threw all of Tobiah's household goods out of the room.

Neh 13:9 Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense. (kjv)

Neh.13:9 und hieß, daß sie die Kammern reinigten; und ich brachte wieder dahin das Gerät des Hauses Gottes, das Speisopfer und den Weihrauch.

Neh 13:10 And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field. (kjv)

 Neh.13:10 Und ich erfuhr, daß der Leviten Teile ihnen nicht gegeben waren, derhalben die Leviten und die Sänger, die das Geschäft des Amts ausrichten sollten, geflohen waren, ein jeglicher zu seinen Acker.

Neh 13:11 Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place. (kjv)

Neh 13:14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof. (kjv)

Neh 13:15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.  Neh 13:15 In those days I saw in Judah some who were treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sacks of grain and loading them on donkeys, as well as wine, grapes, figs and all kinds of loads, and they brought them into Jerusalem on the sabbath day. So I admonished them on the day they sold food.

 Neh.13:15 Zur selben Zeit sah ich in Juda Kelter treten am Sabbat und Garben hereinbringen und Esel, beladen mit Wein, Trauben, Feigen und allerlei Last, gen Jerusalem bringen am Sabbattag. Und ich zeugte wider sie des Tages, da sie die Nahrung verkauften.

Neh 13:16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. (kjv)

 Neh 13:17 Then I reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them, "What is this evil thing you are doing, by profaning the sabbath day?

 Neh.13:17 Da schalt ich die Obersten in Juda und sprach zu ihnen: Was ist das für ein böses Ding, das ihr tut, und brecht den Sabbattag?

Neh 13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. (kjv)

 Neh.13:18 Taten nicht eure Väter also, und unser Gott führte all dies Unglück über uns und über diese Stadt? Und ihr macht des Zorns über Israel noch mehr, daß ihr den Sabbat brecht!

Neh 13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. Neh 13:20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice. (kjv)

Neh 13:27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives? (kjv)

 Neh.13:27 Und von euch muß man das hören, daß ihr solches Übel tut, euch an unserm Gott zu vergreifen und ausländische Weiber zu nehmen?
