Eccl.1:6 Der Wind geht gen Mittag und kommt herum zur Mitternacht und wieder herum an den Ort, da er anfing.

Eccl.1:8 Es sind alle Dinge so voll Mühe, daß es niemand ausreden kann. Das Auge sieht sich nimmer satt, und das Ohr hört sich nimmer satt.

Ecl 1:9 That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.

Eccl.1:9 Was ist's, das geschehen ist? Eben das hernach geschehen wird. Was ist's, das man getan hat? Eben das man hernach tun wird; und geschieht nichts Neues unter der Sonne.

Ecc 1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. (kjv)

Ecl 1:13 And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven. It is a grievous task which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.

Eccl.1:13 und richtete mein Herz zu suchen und zu forschen weislich alles, was man unter dem Himmel tut. Solche unselige Mühe hat Gott den Menschenkindern gegeben, daß sie sich darin müssen quälen.

Ecl 1:16 I said to myself, "Behold, I have magnified and increased wisdom more than all who were over Jerusalem before me; and my mind has observed a wealth of wisdom and knowledge."

Eccl.1:17 Und richtete auch mein Herz darauf, daß ich erkennte Weisheit und erkennte Tollheit und Torheit. Ich ward aber gewahr, daß solches auch Mühe um Wind ist.

Ecc 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.(kjv)

Ecl 1:18 Because in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.

Eccl.1:18 Denn wo viel Weisheit ist, da ist viel Grämens; und wer viel lernt, der muß viel leiden.

Ecc 2:3 I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life. (kjv)

Ecl 2:3 I explored with my mind how to stimulate my body with wine while my mind was guiding me wisely, and how to take hold of folly, until I could see what good there is for the sons of men to do under heaven the few years of their lives.

Eccl.2:3 Da dachte ich in meinem Herzen, meinen Leib mit Wein zu pflegen, doch also, daß mein Herz mich mit Weisheit leitete, und zu ergreifen, was Torheit ist, bis ich lernte, was dem Menschen gut wäre, daß sie tun sollten, solange sie unter dem Himmel leben.

Eccl.2:7 ich hatte Knechte und Mägde und auch Gesinde, im Hause geboren; ich hatte eine größere Habe an Rindern und Schafen denn alle, die vor mir zu Jerusalem gewesen waren;

Ecc 2:8 I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. (kjv)

Ecl 2:9 Then I became great and increased more than all who preceded me in Jerusalem. My wisdom also stood by me.

Eccl.2:9 und nahm zu über alle, die vor mir zu Jerusalem gewesen waren; auch blieb meine Weisheit bei mir;

Ecc 2:10 And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. (kjv)

Ecl 2:10 All that my eyes desired I did not refuse them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor and this was my reward for all my labor.

Ecc 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. (kjv)

Ecl 2:11 Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun.

Ecl 2:12 So I turned to consider wisdom, madness and folly; for what will the man do who will come after the king except what has already been done?

Eccl.2:12 Da wandte ich mich, zu sehen die Weisheit und die Tollheit und Torheit. Denn wer weiß, was der für ein Mensch werden wird nach dem König, den sie schon bereit gemacht haben?

Ecc 2:13 Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness. (kjv)

Ecl 2:14 The wise man's eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that one fate befalls them both.

Eccl.2:14 daß dem Weisen seine Augen im Haupt stehen, aber die Narren in der Finsternis gehen; und merkte doch, daß es einem geht wie dem andern.

Ecc 2:15 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. (kjv)

Ecl 2:15 Then I said to myself, "As is the fate of the fool, it will also befall me. Why then have I been extremely wise?" So I said to myself, "This too is vanity."

Eccl.2:15 Da dachte ich in meinem Herzen: Weil es denn mir geht wie dem Narren, warum habe ich denn nach Weisheit getrachtet? Da dachte ich in meinem Herzen, daß solches auch eitel sei.

Ecc 2:16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool. (kjv)

Ecl 2:16 For there is no lasting remembrance of the wise man as with the fool, inasmuch as in the coming days all will be forgotten. And how the wise man and the fool alike die!

Eccl.2:16 Denn man gedenkt des Weisen nicht immerdar, ebenso wenig wie des Narren, und die künftigen Tage vergessen alles; und wie der Narr stirbt, also auch der Weise.

Ecc 2:17 Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit. (kjv)

Ecc 2:19 And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity. (kjv)

Ecl 2:19 And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the fruit of my labor for which I have labored by acting wisely under the sun. This too is vanity.

Eccl.2:19 Denn wer weiß, ob er weise oder toll sein wird? und soll doch herrschen in aller meiner Arbeit, die ich weislich getan habe unter der Sonne. Das ist auch eitel.

Ecc 2:21 For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil. (kjv)

Ecl 2:21 When there is a man who has labored with wisdom, knowledge and skill, then he gives his legacy to one who has not labored with them. This too is vanity and a great evil.

Eccl.2:21 Denn es muß ein Mensch, der seine Arbeit mit Weisheit, Vernunft und Geschicklichkeit getan hat, sie einem andern zum Erbteil lassen, der nicht daran gearbeitet hat. Das ist auch eitel und ein großes Unglück.

Ecc 2:23 For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity. (kjv)

Ecl 2:23 Because all his days his task is painful and grievous; even at night his mind does not rest. This too is vanity.

Eccl.2:23 Denn alle seine Lebtage hat er Schmerzen mit Grämen und Leid, daß auch sein Herz des Nachts nicht ruht. Das ist auch eitel.

Ecc 2:24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God. (kjv)

Ecl 2:24 There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen that it is from the hand of God.

Eccl.2:24 Ist's nun nicht besser dem Menschen, daß er esse und trinke und seine Seele guter Dinge sei in seiner Arbeit? Aber solches sah ich auch, daß es von Gottes Hand kommt.

Ecl 2:25 For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him?

Eccl.2:25 Denn wer kann fröhlich essen und sich ergötzen ohne ihn?

Ecc 2:26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.(kjv)

Ecl 2:26 For to a person who is good in His sight He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God's sight. This too is vanity and striving after wind.

Eccl.2:26 Denn dem Menschen, der ihm gefällt, gibt er Weisheit, Vernunft und Freude; aber dem Sünder gibt er Mühe, daß er sammle und häufe, und es doch dem gegeben werde, der Gott gefällt. Darum ist das auch eitel und Haschen nach dem Wind.

Eccl.3:9 Man arbeite, wie man will, so hat man doch keinen Gewinn davon.

Ecl 3:10 I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.

Eccl.3:10 Ich sah die Mühe, die Gott den Menschen gegeben hat, daß sie darin geplagt werden.

Ecc 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. (kjv)

Ecl 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Eccl.3:11 Er aber tut alles fein zu seiner Zeit und läßt ihr Herz sich ängsten, wie es gehen solle in der Welt; denn der Mensch kann doch nicht treffen das Werk, das Gott tut, weder Anfang noch Ende.

Ecc 3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. (kjv)

Ecl 3:12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one's lifetime;

Eccl.3:12 Darum merkte ich, daß nichts Besseres darin ist denn fröhlich sein und sich gütlich tun in seinem Leben.

Ecc 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. (kjv)

Ecl 3:13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor--it is the gift of God.

Eccl.3:13 Denn ein jeglicher Mensch, der da ißt und trinkt und hat guten Mut in aller seiner Arbeit, das ist eine Gabe Gottes.

Ecc 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. (kjv)

Ecl 3:14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him.

Eccl.3:14 Ich merkte, daß alles, was Gott tut, das besteht immer: man kann nichts dazutun noch abtun; und solches tut Gott, daß man sich vor ihm fürchten soll.

Ecl 3:15 That which is has been already and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by.
