So the physicians embalmed Israel.(nasb) Gen 50:2 καὶ Ï€Ïοσέταξεν Ιωσηφ τοῖς παισὶν αá½Ï„οῦ τοῖς á¼Î½Ï„αφιασταῖς á¼Î½Ï„αφιάσαι τὸν πατέÏα αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ á¼Î½ÎµÏ„αφίασαν οἱ á¼Î½Ï„αφιασταὶ τὸν ΙσÏαηλ (lxx) Gen 50:2 Præcepitque servis suis medicis ut aromatibus condirent patrem.(vulgate) Gen 50:2 Und Joseph befahl seinen Knechten, den Ärzten, das sie seinen Vater salbten. Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father; then I will return.'"(nasb) Gen 50:5 á½ Ï€Î±Ï„á½µÏ Î¼Î¿Ï… á½¥Ïκισέν με λέγων á¼Î½ τῷ μνημείῳ á¾§ ὤÏυξα á¼Î¼Î±Ï…τῷ á¼Î½ γῇ Χανααν á¼ÎºÎµá¿– με θάψεις νῦν οὖν ἀναβὰς θάψω τὸν πατέÏα μου καὶ á¼Ï€Î±Î½ÎµÎ»Îµá½»ÏƒÎ¿Î¼Î±Î¹ (lxx) Gen 50:5 eo quod pater meus adjuraverit me dicens: En morior: in sepulchro meo, quod fodi mihi in terra Chanaan, sepelies me. Ascendam igitur, et sepeliam patrem meum, ac revertar.(vulgate) Gen 50:5 Mein Vater hat einen Eid von mir genommen und gesagt: Siehe, ich sterbe; begrabe mich in meinem Grabe, das ich mir im Lande Kanaan gegraben habe. So will ich nun hinaufziehen und meinen Vater begraben und wiederkommen.(dhs) Gen 50:5 'My father made me swear, saying, "Behold, I am dying; in my grave which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me." Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father, and I will come back.' Und es zogen mit ihm alle Knechte Pharaos, die Ältesten seines Hauses und alle Ältesten des Landes Ägypten,(dhs) Gen 50:7 So Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:8 ============ Gen 50:8 and all the household of Joseph and his brothers and his father's household; they left only their little ones and their flocks and their herds in the land of Goshen.(nasb) Gen 50:8 καὶ πᾶσα ἡ πανοικία Ιωσηφ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ οἰκία ἡ πατÏικὴ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ τὴν συγγένειαν καὶ τὰ Ï€Ïόβατα καὶ τοὺς βόας ὑπελίποντο á¼Î½ γῇ Γεσεμ (lxx) Gen 50:8 domus Joseph cum fratribus suis, absque parvulis, et gregibus atque armentis, quæ dereliquerant in terra Gessen.(vulgate) Gen 50:8 dazu das ganze Gesinde Josephs und seine Brüder und das Gesinde seines Vaters. Allein ihre Kinder, Schafe und Ochsen ließen sie im Lande Gosen.(dhs) Gen 50:8 as well as all the house of Joseph, his brothers, and his father's house. Only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds they left in the land of Goshen.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:9 ============ Gen 50:9 There also went up with him both chariots and horsemen; and it was a very great company.(nasb) Gen 50:9 καὶ συνανέβησαν μετ᾽ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ á¼…Ïματα καὶ ἱππεῖς καὶ á¼Î³á½³Î½ÎµÏ„ο ἡ παÏεμβολὴ μεγάλη σφόδÏα (lxx) Gen 50:9 Habuit quoque in comitatu currus et equites: et facta est turba non modica.(vulgate) Gen 50:9 Und es zogen mit ihm hinauf Wagen und Reisige, und war ein sehr großes Heer.(dhs) Gen 50:9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen, and it was a very great gathering.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:10 ============ Gen 50:10 When they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, they lamented there with a very great and sorrowful lamentation; and he observed seven days mourning for his father.(nasb) Gen 50:10 καὶ παÏεγένοντο á¼Ï†á¾½ ἅλωνα Αταδ á½… á¼ÏƒÏ„ιν πέÏαν τοῦ ΙοÏδάνου καὶ á¼Îºá½¹ÏˆÎ±Î½Ï„ο αá½Ï„ὸν κοπετὸν μέγαν καὶ ἰσχυÏὸν σφόδÏα καὶ á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ τὸ πένθος τῷ πατÏá½¶ αá½Ï„οῦ ἑπτὰ ἡμέÏας (lxx) Gen 50:10 Veneruntque ad Aream Atad, quæ sita est trans Jordanem: ubi celebrantes exequias planctu magno atque vehementi impleverunt septem dies.(vulgate) Gen 50:10 Da sie nun an die Tenne Atad kamen, die jenseit des Jordans liegt, da hielten sie eine gar große und bittere Klage; und er trug über seinen Vater Leid sieben Tage.(dhs) Gen 50:10 Then they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and they mourned there with a great and very solemn lamentation. He observed seven days of mourning for his father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:11 ============ Gen 50:11 Now when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, "This is a grievous mourning for the Egyptians." Therefore it was named Abel-mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.(nasb) Gen 50:11 καὶ εἶδον οἱ κάτοικοι τῆς γῆς Χανααν τὸ πένθος á¼Î½ ἅλωνι Αταδ καὶ εἶπαν πένθος μέγα τοῦτό á¼ÏƒÏ„ιν τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις διὰ τοῦτο á¼Îºá½±Î»ÎµÏƒÎµÎ½ τὸ ὄνομα αá½Ï„οῦ Πένθος Αἰγύπτου á½… á¼ÏƒÏ„ιν πέÏαν τοῦ ΙοÏδάνου (lxx) Gen 50:11 Quod cum vidissent habitatores terræ Chanaan, dixerunt: Planctus magnus est iste Ægyptiis. Et idcirco vocatum est nomen loci illius, Planctus Ægypti.(vulgate) Gen 50:11 Und da die Leute im Lande, die Kanaaniter, die Klage bei der Tenne Atad sahen, sprachen sie: Die Ägypter halten da große Klage. Therefore its name was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:12 ============ Gen 50:12 Thus his sons did for him as he had charged them;(nasb) Gen 50:12 καὶ á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎ±Î½ αá½Ï„á¿· οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ ἔθαψαν αá½Ï„ὸν á¼ÎºÎµá¿– (lxx) Gen 50:12 Fecerunt ergo filii Jacob sicut præceperat eis:(vulgate) Gen 50:12 Und seine Kinder taten, wie er ihnen befohlen hatte,(dhs) Gen 50:12 So his sons did for him just as he had commanded them.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:13 ============ Gen 50:13 for his sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre, which Abraham had bought along with the field for a burial site from Ephron the Hittite.(nasb) Gen 50:13 καὶ ἀνέλαβον αá½Ï„ὸν οἱ υἱοὶ αá½Ï„οῦ εἰς γῆν Χανααν καὶ ἔθαψαν αá½Ï„ὸν εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ διπλοῦν ὃ á¼ÎºÏ„ήσατο ΑβÏααμ τὸ σπήλαιον á¼Î½ κτήσει μνημείου παÏá½° ΕφÏων τοῦ Χετταίου κατέναντι ΜαμβÏη (lxx) Gen 50:13 et portantes eum in terram Chanaan, sepelierunt eum in spelunca duplici, quam emerat Abraham cum agro in possessionem sepulchri ab Ephron Hethæo, contra faciem Mambre.(vulgate) Gen 50:13 und führten ihn ins Land Kanaan und begruben ihn in der zwiefachen Höhle des Ackers, die Abraham erkauft hatte mit dem Acker zum Erbbegräbnis von Ephron, dem Hethiter, gegenüber Mamre.(dhs) Gen 50:13 For his sons carried him to the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite as property for a burial place.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:14 ============ Gen 50:14 After he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers, and all who had gone up with him to bury his father.(nasb) Gen 50:14 καὶ ἀπέστÏεψεν Ιωσηφ εἰς Αἴγυπτον αá½Ï„ὸς καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ οἱ συναναβάντες θάψαι τὸν πατέÏα αá½Ï„οῦ (lxx) Gen 50:14 Reversusque est Joseph in Ægyptum cum fratribus suis, et omni comitatu, sepulto patre.~(vulgate) Gen 50:14 Als sie ihn nun begraben hatten, zog Joseph wieder nach Ägypten mit seinen Brüdern und mit allen, die mit ihm hinaufgezogen waren, seinen Vater zu begraben.(dhs) Gen 50:14 And after he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers and all who went up with him to bury his father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:15 ============ Gen 50:15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph bears a grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong which we did to him!"(nasb) Gen 50:15 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Ιωσηφ ὅτι τέθνηκεν á½ Ï€Î±Ï„á½´Ï Î±á½Ï„ῶν εἶπαν μήποτε μνησικακήσῃ ἡμῖν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἀνταπόδομα ἀνταποδῷ ἡμῖν πάντα τὰ κακά ἃ á¼Î½ÎµÎ´ÎµÎ¹Î¾á½±Î¼ÎµÎ¸Î± αá½Ï„á¿· (lxx) Gen 50:15 Quo mortuo, timentes fratres ejus, et mutuo colloquentes: Ne forte memor sit injuriæ quam passus est, et reddat nobis omne malum quod fecimus,(vulgate) Gen 50:15 Die Brüder aber Josephs fürchteten sich, da ihr Vater gestorben war, und sprachen: Joseph möchte uns Gram sein und vergelten alle Bosheit, die wir an ihm getan haben.(dhs) Gen 50:15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:16 ============ Gen 50:16 So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, "Your father charged before he died, saying,(nasb) Gen 50:16 καὶ παÏεγένοντο Ï€Ïὸς Ιωσηφ λέγοντες á½ Ï€Î±Ï„á½µÏ ÏƒÎ¿Ï… á½¥Ïκισεν Ï€Ïὸ τοῦ τελευτῆσαι αá½Ï„ὸν λέγων (lxx) Gen 50:16 mandaverunt ei dicentes: Pater tuus præcepit nobis antequam moreretur,(vulgate) Gen 50:16 Darum ließen sie ihm sagen: Dein Vater befahl vor seinem Tod und sprach:(dhs) Gen 50:16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, "Before your father died he commanded, saying,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:17 ============ Gen 50:17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph, "Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong."' And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.(nasb) Gen 50:17 οὕτως εἴπατε Ιωσηφ ἄφες αá½Ï„οῖς τὴν ἀδικίαν καὶ τὴν á¼Î¼Î±Ïτίαν αá½Ï„ῶν ὅτι πονηÏá½± σοι á¼Î½ÎµÎ´Îµá½·Î¾Î±Î½Ï„ο καὶ νῦν δέξαι τὴν ἀδικίαν τῶν θεÏαπόντων τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ πατÏός σου καὶ ἔκλαυσεν Ιωσηφ λαλούντων αá½Ï„ῶν Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„όν (lxx) Gen 50:17 ut hæc tibi verbis illius diceremus: Obsecro ut obliviscaris sceleris fratrum tuorum, et peccati atque malitiæ quam exercuerunt in te: nos quoque oramus ut servis Dei patris tui dimittas iniquitatem hanc. Quibus auditis flevit Joseph.(vulgate) Gen 50:17 Also sollt ihr Joseph sagen: Vergib doch deinen Brüdern die Missetat und ihre Sünde, daß sie so übel an dir getan haben. So vergib doch nun diese Missetat uns, den Dienern des Gottes deines Vaters. Aber Joseph weinte, da sie solches mit ihm redeten.(dhs) Gen 50:17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph: "I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you." ' Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:18 ============ Gen 50:18 Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, "Behold, we are your servants."(nasb) Gen 50:18 καὶ á¼Î»Î¸á½¹Î½Ï„ες Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„ὸν εἶπαν οἵδε ἡμεῖς σοι οἰκέται (lxx) Gen 50:18 Veneruntque ad eum fratres sui: et proni adorantes in terram, dixerunt: Servi tui sumus.(vulgate) Gen 50:18 Und seine Brüder gingen hin und fielen vor ihm nieder und sprachen: Siehe, wir sind deine Knechte.(dhs) Gen 50:18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, "Behold, we are your servants."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:19 ============ Gen 50:19 But Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in God's place?(nasb) Gen 50:19 καὶ εἶπεν αá½Ï„οῖς Ιωσηφ μὴ φοβεῖσθε τοῦ Î³á½°Ï Î¸ÎµÎ¿á¿¦ εἰμι á¼Î³á½½ (lxx) Gen 50:19 Quibus ille respondit: Nolite timere: num Dei possumus resistere voluntati?(vulgate) Gen 50:19 Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht, denn ich bin unter Gott.(dhs) Gen 50:19 Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:20 ============ Gen 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.(nasb) Gen 50:20 ὑμεῖς á¼Î²Î¿Ï…λεύσασθε κατ᾽ á¼Î¼Î¿á¿¦ εἰς πονηÏá½± ὠδὲ θεὸς á¼Î²Î¿Ï…λεύσατο πεÏá½¶ á¼Î¼Î¿á¿¦ εἰς ἀγαθά ὅπως ἂν γενηθῇ ὡς σήμεÏον ἵνα διατÏαφῇ λαὸς πολύς (lxx) Gen 50:20 Vos cogitastis de me malum: sed Deus vertit illud in bonum, ut exaltaret me, sicut in præsentiarum cernitis, et salvos faceret multos populos.(vulgate) Gen 50:20 Ihr gedachtet's böse mit mir zu machen; aber Gott gedachte es gut zu machen, daß er täte, wie es jetzt am Tage ist, zu erhalten viel Volks.(dhs) Gen 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:21 ============ Gen 50:21 So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones." So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.(nasb) Gen 50:21 καὶ εἶπεν αá½Ï„οῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε á¼Î³á½¼ διαθÏέψω ὑμᾶς καὶ τὰς οἰκίας ὑμῶν καὶ παÏεκάλεσεν αá½Ï„οὺς καὶ á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ αá½Ï„ῶν εἰς τὴν καÏδίαν (lxx) Gen 50:21 Nolite timere: ego pascam vos et parvulos vestros: consolatusque est eos, et blande ac leniter est locutus.(vulgate) Gen 50:21 So fürchtet euch nun nicht; ich will euch versorgen und eure Kinder. Und er tröstete sie und redete freundlich mit ihnen.(dhs) Gen 50:21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones." And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:22 ============ Gen 50:22 Now Joseph stayed in Egypt, he and his father's household, and Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.(nasb) Gen 50:22 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ιωσηφ á¼Î½ Αἰγύπτῳ αá½Ï„ὸς καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ πανοικία τοῦ πατÏὸς αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ ἔζησεν Ιωσηφ ἔτη ἑκατὸν δέκα (lxx) Gen 50:22 Et habitavit in Ægypto cum omni domo patris sui: vixitque centum decem annis. Et vidit Ephraim filios usque ad tertiam generationem. Filii quoque Machir filii Manasse nati sunt in genibus Joseph.(vulgate) Gen 50:22 Also wohnte Joseph in Ägypten mit seines Vaters Hause und lebte hundertundzehn Jahre(dhs) Gen 50:22 So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father's household.
