And he said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you,(nasb) Jdg 2:1 καὶ ἀνέβη ἄγγελος κυÏίου ἀπὸ Γαλγαλ á¼Ï€á½¶ τὸν Κλαυθμῶνα καὶ á¼Ï€á½¶ Βαιθηλ καὶ á¼Ï€á½¶ τὸν οἶκον ΙσÏαηλ καὶ εἶπεν Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„ούς τάδε λέγει κύÏιος ἀνεβίβασα ὑμᾶς á¼Î¾ Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰσήγαγον ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατÏάσιν ὑμῶν καὶ εἶπα οὠδιασκεδάσω τὴν διαθήκην μου τὴν μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) Jdg 2:1 Ascenditque angelus Domini de Galgalis ad Locum flentium, et ait: Eduxi vos de Ægypto, et introduxi in terram, pro qua juravi patribus vestris: et pollicitus sum ut non facerem irritum pactum meum vobiscum in sempiternum,(vulgate) Jdg 2:1 Es kam aber der Engel des HERRN herauf von Gilgal gen Bochim und sprach: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten heraufgeführt und in das Land gebracht, das ich euren Vätern geschworen habe, und sprach, ich wollte meinen Bund mit euch nicht brechen ewiglich;(dhs) Jdg 2:1 Then the Angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said: "I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:2 ============ Jdg 2:2 and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done?(nasb) Jdg 2:2 καὶ ὑμεῖς οὠδιαθήσεσθε διαθήκην τοῖς á¼Î³ÎºÎ±Î¸Î·Î¼á½³Î½Î¿Î¹Ï‚ εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην οá½Î´á½² τοῖς θεοῖς αá½Ï„ῶν Ï€Ïοσκυνήσετε ἀλλὰ τὰ γλυπτὰ αá½Ï„ῶν συντÏίψετε καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήÏια αá½Ï„ῶν καθελεῖτε καὶ οá½Îº εἰσηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου ὅτι ταῦτα á¼Ï€Î¿Î¹á½µÏƒÎ±Ï„ε (lxx) Jdg 2:2 ita dumtaxat ut non feriretis fÅ“dus cum habitatoribus terræ hujus, sed aras eorum subverteretis: et noluistis audire vocem meam: cur hoc fecistis?(vulgate) Jdg 2:2 ihr aber solltet keinen Bund machen mit den Einwohnern dieses Landes und ihre Altäre zerbrechen. Aber ihr habt meiner Stimme nicht gehorcht. Warum habt ihr das getan?(dhs) Jdg 2:2 And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' Why have you done this?(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:3 ============ Jdg 2:3 Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.'"(nasb) Jdg 2:3 κἀγὼ εἶπον οὠμὴ á¼Î¾Î±Ïá¿¶ αá½Ï„οὺς á¼Îº Ï€Ïοσώπου ὑμῶν καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς συνοχάς καὶ οἱ θεοὶ αá½Ï„ῶν ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς σκάνδαλον (lxx) Jdg 2:3 Quam ob rem nolui delere eos a facie vestra: ut habeatis hostes, et dii eorum sint vobis in ruinam.(vulgate) Jdg 2:3 Da sprach ich auch: Ich will sie nicht vertreiben vor euch, daß sie euch zum Strick werden und ihre Götter zum Netz.(dhs) Jdg 2:3 Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.' "(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:4 ============ Jdg 2:4 When the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voices and wept.(nasb) Jdg 2:4 καὶ á¼Î³á½³Î½ÎµÏ„ο ὡς á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ ὠἄγγελος κυÏίου τοὺς λόγους τούτους Ï€Ïὸς πάντας υἱοὺς ΙσÏαηλ καὶ á¼Ï€á¿†Ïαν ὠλαὸς τὴν φωνὴν αá½Ï„ῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν (lxx) Jdg 2:4 Cumque loqueretur angelus Domini hæc verba ad omnes filios Israël, elevaverunt ipsi vocem suam, et fleverunt.(vulgate) Jdg 2:4 Und da der Engel des HERRN solche Worte geredet hatte zu allen Kinder Israel, hob das Volk seine Stimme auf und weinte,(dhs) Jdg 2:4 So it was, when the Angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voices and wept.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:5 ============ Jdg 2:5 So they named that place Bochim; and there they sacrificed to the Lord.(nasb) Jdg 2:5 καὶ á¼Ï€Ï‰Î½á½¹Î¼Î±ÏƒÎ±Î½ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου á¼ÎºÎµá½·Î½Î¿Ï… Κλαυθμῶνες καὶ á¼Î¸Ï…σίασαν á¼ÎºÎµá¿– τῷ κυÏίῳ (lxx) Jdg 2:5 Et vocatum est nomen loci illius, Locus flentium, sive lacrimarum: immolaveruntque ibi hostias Domini.~(vulgate) Jdg 2:5 und hießen die Stätte Bochim und opferten daselbst dem HERRN.(dhs) Jdg 2:5 Then they called the name of that place Bochim; and they sacrificed there to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:6 ============ Jdg 2:6 When Joshua had dismissed the people, the sons of Israel went each to his inheritance to possess the land.(nasb) Jdg 2:6 καὶ á¼Î¾Î±Ï€á½³ÏƒÏ„ειλεν Ἰησοῦς τὸν λαόν καὶ ἦλθεν á¼€Î½á½´Ï Îµá¼°Ï‚ τὴν κληÏονομίαν αá½Ï„οῦ κατακληÏονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν (lxx) Jdg 2:6 Dimisit ergo Josue populum, et abierunt filii Israël unusquisque in possessionem suam, ut obtinerent eam:(vulgate) Jdg 2:6 Als Josua das Volk von sich gelassen hatte und die Kinder Israel hingezogen waren, ein jeglicher in sein Erbteil, das Land einzunehmen,(dhs) Jdg 2:6 And when Joshua had dismissed the people, the children of Israel went each to his own inheritance to possess the land.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:7 ============ Jdg 2:7 The people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the Lord which He had done for Israel.(nasb) Jdg 2:7 καὶ á¼Î´Î¿á½»Î»ÎµÏ…σεν ὠλαὸς τῷ κυÏίῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέÏας Ἰησοῦ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέÏας τῶν Ï€ÏεσβυτέÏων ὅσοι á¼Î¼Î±ÎºÏοημέÏευσαν μετὰ Ἰησοῦ ὅσοι ἔγνωσαν πᾶν τὸ á¼”Ïγον κυÏίου τὸ μέγα ὃ á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ á¼Î½ τῷ ΙσÏαηλ (lxx) Jdg 2:7 servieruntque Domino cunctis diebus ejus, et seniorum, qui longo post eum vixerunt tempore, et noverant omnia opera Domini quæ fecerat cum Israël.(vulgate) Jdg 2:7 diente das Volk dem HERRN, solange Josua lebte und die Ältesten, die noch lange nach Josua lebten und alle die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen hatten, die er getan hatte.(dhs) Jdg 2:7 So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:8 ============ Jdg 2:8 Then Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of one hundred and ten.(nasb) Jdg 2:8 καὶ á¼Ï„ελεύτησεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Îαυη δοῦλος κυÏίου υἱὸς ἑκατὸν δέκα á¼Ï„ῶν (lxx) Jdg 2:8 Mortuus est autem Josue filius Nun, famulus Domini, centum et decem annorum,(vulgate) Jdg 2:8 Da nun Josua, der Sohn Nuns, gestorben war, der Knecht des HERRN, als er hundertundzehn Jahre alt war,(dhs) Jdg 2:8 Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:9 ============ Jdg 2:9 And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.(nasb) Jdg 2:9 καὶ ἔθαψαν αá½Ï„ὸν á¼Î½ á½Ïίῳ τῆς κληÏονομίας αá½Ï„οῦ á¼Î½ ΘαμναθαÏες á¼Î½ ὄÏει ΕφÏαιμ ἀπὸ βοÏÏá¾¶ τοῦ ὄÏους Γαας (lxx) Jdg 2:9 et sepelierunt eum in finibus possessionis suæ in Thamnathsare in monte Ephraim, a septentrionali plaga montis Gaas.(vulgate) Jdg 2:9 begruben sie ihn in den Grenzen seines Erbteile zu Thimnath-Heres auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, mitternachtwärts vom Berge Gaas.(dhs) Jdg 2:9 And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Heres, in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:10 ============ Jdg 2:10 All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel.(nasb) Jdg 2:10 καί γε πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ á¼ÎºÎµá½·Î½Î· Ï€Ïοσετέθησαν Ï€Ïὸς τοὺς πατέÏας αá½Ï„ῶν καὶ ἀνέστη γενεὰ ἑτέÏα μετ᾽ αá½Ï„ούς οἳ οá½Îº ἔγνωσαν τὸν κύÏιον καί γε τὸ á¼”Ïγον ὃ á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ á¼Î½ τῷ ΙσÏαηλ (lxx) Jdg 2:10 Omnisque illa generatio congregata est ad patres suos: et surrexerunt alii, qui non noverant Dominum, et opera quæ fecerat cum Israël.~(vulgate) Jdg 2:10 Da auch alle, die zu der Zeit gelebt hatten, zu ihren Vätern versammelt wurden, kam nach ihnen ein andres Geschlecht auf, das den HERRN nicht kannte noch sein Werke, die er an Israel getan hatte.(dhs) Jdg 2:10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:11 ============ Jdg 2:11 Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals,(nasb) Jdg 2:11 καὶ á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎ±Î½ οἱ υἱοὶ ΙσÏαηλ τὸ πονηÏὸν á¼Î½á½½Ï€Î¹Î¿Î½ κυÏίου καὶ á¼Î»á½±Ï„Ïευσαν τοῖς Βααλιμ (lxx) Jdg 2:11 Feceruntque filii Israël malum in conspectu Domini, et servierunt Baalim.(vulgate) Jdg 2:11 Da taten die Kinder Israel übel vor dem HERRN und dienten den Baalim(dhs) Jdg 2:11 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:12 ============ Jdg 2:12 and they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; thus they provoked the Lord to anger.(nasb) Jdg 2:12 καὶ á¼Î³ÎºÎ±Ï„έλιπον τὸν κύÏιον τὸν θεὸν τῶν πατέÏων αá½Ï„ῶν τὸν á¼Î¾Î±Î³Î±Î³á½¹Î½Ï„α αá½Ï„οὺς á¼Îº γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ á¼Ï€Î¿Ïεύθησαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέÏων ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν á¼Î¸Î½á¿¶Î½ τῶν πεÏικύκλῳ αá½Ï„ῶν καὶ Ï€Ïοσεκύνησαν αá½Ï„οῖς καὶ παÏá½½Ïγισαν τὸν κύÏιον (lxx) Jdg 2:12 Ac dimiserunt Dominum Deum patrum suorum, qui eduxerat eos de terra Ægypti, et secuti sunt deos alienos, deosque populorum, qui habitabant in circuitu eorum, et adoraverunt eos: et ad iracundiam concitaverunt Dominum,(vulgate) Jdg 2:12 und verließen den HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott, der sie aus Ägyptenland geführt hatte, und folgten andern Göttern nach von den Göttern der Völker, die um sie her wohnten, und beteten sie an und erzürnten den HERRN;(dhs) Jdg 2:12 and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:13 ============ Jdg 2:13 So they forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtaroth.(nasb) Jdg 2:13 καὶ á¼Î³ÎºÎ±Ï„έλιπον αá½Ï„ὸν καὶ á¼Î»á½±Ï„Ïευσαν τῷ Βααλ καὶ ταῖς ἈστάÏταις (lxx) Jdg 2:13 dimittentes eum, et servientes Baal et Astaroth.(vulgate) Jdg 2:13 denn sie verließen je und je den HERRN und dienten Baal und den Astharoth.(dhs) Jdg 2:13 They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:14 ============ Jdg 2:14 The anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He gave them into the hands of plunderers who plundered them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies around them, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.(nasb) Jdg 2:14 καὶ á½ Ïγίσθη θυμῷ κύÏιος á¼Î½ τῷ ΙσÏαηλ καὶ παÏέδωκεν αá½Ï„οὺς εἰς χεῖÏας Ï€Ïονομευόντων καὶ κατεπÏονόμευσαν αá½Ï„ούς καὶ ἀπέδοτο αá½Ï„οὺς á¼Î½ χεÏσὶ τῶν á¼Ï‡Î¸Ïῶν αá½Ï„ῶν κυκλόθεν καὶ οá½Îº ἠδυνήθησαν ἔτι ἀντιστῆναι κατὰ Ï€Ïόσωπον τῶν á¼Ï‡Î¸Ïῶν αá½Ï„ῶν (lxx) Jdg 2:14 Iratusque Dominus contra Israël, tradidit eos in manus diripientium: qui ceperunt eos, et vendiderunt hostibus qui habitabant per gyrum: nec potuerunt resistere adversariis suis,(vulgate) Jdg 2:14 So ergrimmte der Zorn des HERRN über Israel und gab sie in die Hand der Räuber, daß diese sie beraubten, und verkaufte sie in die Hände ihrer Feinde umher. Und sie konnten nicht mehr ihren Feinden widerstehen;(dhs) Jdg 2:14 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:15 ============ Jdg 2:15 Wherever they went, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had spoken and as the Lord had sworn to them, so that they were severely distressed.(nasb) Jdg 2:15 á¼Î½ πᾶσιν οἷς á¼Î¾ÎµÏ€Î¿Ïεύοντο καὶ Ï‡Îµá½¶Ï ÎºÏ…Ïίου ἦν á¼Ï€á¾½ αá½Ï„οὺς εἰς κακά καθὼς á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ κύÏιος καὶ καθὼς ὤμοσεν κύÏιος αá½Ï„οῖς καὶ á¼Î¾á½³Î¸Î»Î¹ÏˆÎµÎ½ αá½Ï„οὺς σφόδÏα (lxx) Jdg 2:15 sed quocumque pergere voluissent, manus Domini super eos erat, sicut locutus est, et juravit eis, et vehementer afflicti sunt.~(vulgate) Jdg 2:15 sondern wo sie hinaus wollten, da war des HERRN Hand wider sie zum Unglück, wie denn der HERR ihnen gesagt und geschworen hatte. Und sie wurden hart gedrängt.(dhs) Jdg 2:15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:16 ============ Jdg 2:16 Then the Lord raised up judges who delivered them from the hands of those who plundered them.(nasb) Jdg 2:16 καὶ ἤγειÏεν κύÏιος κÏιτάς καὶ ἔσωσεν αá½Ï„οὺς κύÏιος á¼Îº χειÏὸς τῶν Ï€Ïονομευόντων αá½Ï„ούς (lxx) Jdg 2:16 Suscitavitque Dominus judices, qui liberarent eos de vastantium manibus: sed nec eos audire voluerunt,(vulgate) Jdg 2:16 Wenn dann der HERR Richter auferweckte, die ihnen halfen aus der Räuber Hand,(dhs) Jdg 2:16 Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:17 ============ Jdg 2:17 Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they played the harlot after other gods and bowed themselves down to them. They turned aside quickly from the way in which their fathers had walked in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do as their fathers.(nasb) Jdg 2:17 καί γε τῶν κÏιτῶν οá½Ï‡ ὑπήκουσαν ὅτι á¼Î¾ÎµÏ€á½¹Ïνευσαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέÏων καὶ Ï€Ïοσεκύνησαν αá½Ï„οῖς καὶ á¼Î¾á½³ÎºÎ»Î¹Î½Î±Î½ ταχὺ á¼Îº τῆς á½Î´Î¿á¿¦ á¼§Ï‚ á¼Ï€Î¿Ïεύθησαν οἱ πατέÏες αá½Ï„ῶν τοῦ εἰσακούειν τῶν λόγων κυÏίου οá½Îº á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎ±Î½ οὕτως (lxx) Jdg 2:17 fornicantes cum diis alienis, et adorantes eos. Cito deseruerunt viam, per quam ingressi fuerant patres eorum: et audientes mandata Domini, omnia fecere contraria.(vulgate) Jdg 2:17 so gehorchten sie den Richtern auch nicht, sondern liefen andern Göttern nach und beteten sie an und wichen bald von dem Weg, darauf ihre Väter gegangen waren, des HERRN Geboten zu gehorchen, und taten nicht wie dieselben.(dhs) Jdg 2:17 Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:18 ============ Jdg 2:18 When the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed and afflicted them.(nasb) Jdg 2:18 καὶ ὅτι ἤγειÏεν κύÏιος κÏιτὰς αá½Ï„οῖς καὶ ἦν κύÏιος μετὰ τοῦ κÏιτοῦ καὶ ἔσωσεν αá½Ï„οὺς á¼Îº χειÏὸς á¼Ï‡Î¸Ïῶν αá½Ï„ῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέÏας τοῦ κÏιτοῦ ὅτι παÏεκλήθη κύÏιος ἀπὸ τοῦ στεναγμοῦ αá½Ï„ῶν ἀπὸ Ï€Ïοσώπου τῶν πολιοÏκούντων αá½Ï„οὺς καὶ á¼ÎºÎ¸Î»Î¹Î²á½¹Î½Ï„ων αá½Ï„ούς (lxx) Jdg 2:18 Cumque Dominus judices suscitaret, in diebus eorum flectebatur misericordia, et audiebat afflictorum gemitus, et liberabat eos de cæde vastantium.(vulgate) Jdg 2:18 Wenn aber der HERR ihnen Richter erweckte, so war der HERR mit dem Richter und half ihnen aus ihrer Feinde Hand, solange der Richter lebte. Denn es jammerte den HERRN ihr Wehklagen über die, so sie zwangen und drängten.(dhs) Jdg 2:18 And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.(nkjv) ======= Judges 2:19 ============ Jdg 2:19 But it came about when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their stubborn ways.(nasb) Jdg 2:19 καὶ á¼Î³á½³Î½ÎµÏ„ο ὡς ἀπέθνῃσκεν ὠκÏιτής καὶ ἀπέστÏεψαν καὶ πάλιν διέφθειÏαν á½‘Ï€á½²Ï Ï„Î¿á½ºÏ‚ πατέÏας αá½Ï„ῶν ποÏεύεσθαι ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέÏων λατÏεύειν αá½Ï„οῖς καὶ Ï€Ïοσκυνεῖν αá½Ï„οῖς οá½Îº ἀπέÏÏιψαν τὰ á¼Ï€Î¹Ï„ηδεύματα αá½Ï„ῶν καὶ τὰς á½Î´Î¿á½ºÏ‚ αá½Ï„ῶν τὰς σκληÏάς (lxx) Jdg 2:19 Postquam autem mortuus esset judex, revertebantur, et multo faciebant pejora quam fecerant patres eorum, sequentes deos alienos, servientes eis, et adorantes illos. Non dimiserunt adinventiones suas, et viam durissimam per quam ambulare consueverunt.(vulgate) Jdg 2:19 Wenn aber der Richter starb, so wandten sie sich und verderbten es mehr denn ihre Väter, daß sie andern Göttern folgten, ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten; sie ließen nicht von ihrem Vornehmen noch von ihrem halsstarrigen Wesen.(dhs) Jdg 2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them.
