And he went up and besieged Samaria, and made war against it.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:2 ============ 1Ki 20:2 Then he sent messengers to the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, "Thus says Ben-hadad,(nasb) 1Ki 20:2 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ï€Ïὸς Αχααβ βασιλέα ΙσÏαηλ εἰς τὴν πόλιν (lxx) 1Ki 20:2 Mittensque nuntios ad Achab regem Israël in civitatem,(vulgate) 1Ki 20:2 und sandte Boten zu Ahab, dem König Israels, in die Stadt(dhs) 1Ki 20:2 Then he sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel, and said to him, "Thus says Ben-Hadad:(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:3 ============ 1Ki 20:3 'Your silver and your gold are mine; your most beautiful wives and children are also mine.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:3 καὶ εἶπεν Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„όν τάδε λέγει υἱὸς Î‘Î´ÎµÏ Ï„á½¸ á¼€ÏγύÏιόν σου καὶ τὸ χÏυσίον σου á¼Î¼á½¹Î½ á¼ÏƒÏ„ιν καὶ αἱ γυναῖκές σου καὶ τὰ τέκνα σου á¼Î¼á½± á¼ÏƒÏ„ιν (lxx) 1Ki 20:3 ait: Hæc dicit Benadad: Argentum tuum, et aurum tuum meum est: et uxores tuæ, et filii tui optimi, mei sunt.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:3 und ließ ihm sagen: So spricht Benhadad: Dein Silber und dein Gold ist mein, und deine Weiber und deine besten Kinder sind auch mein.(dhs) 1Ki 20:3 'Your silver and your gold are mine; your loveliest wives and children are mine.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:4 ============ 1Ki 20:4 The king of Israel replied, "It is according to your word, my lord, O king; I am yours, and all that I have."(nasb) 1Ki 20:4 καὶ ἀπεκÏίθη ὠβασιλεὺς ΙσÏαηλ καὶ εἶπεν καθὼς á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎ±Ï‚ κύÏιε βασιλεῦ σὸς á¼Î³á½½ εἰμι καὶ πάντα τὰ á¼Î¼á½± (lxx) 1Ki 20:4 Responditque rex Israël: Juxta verbum tuum, domine mi rex, tuus sum ego, et omnia mea.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:4 Der König Israels antwortete und sprach: Mein Herr König, wie du geredet hast! Ich bin dein und alles, was ich habe.(dhs) 1Ki 20:4 And the king of Israel answered and said, "My lord, O king, just as you say, I and all that I have are yours."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:5 ============ 1Ki 20:5 Then the messengers returned and said, "Thus says Ben-hadad, 'Surely, I sent to you saying, "You shall give me your silver and your gold and your wives and your children,"(nasb) 1Ki 20:5 καὶ ἀνέστÏεψαν οἱ ἄγγελοι καὶ εἶπον τάδε λέγει υἱὸς Î‘Î´ÎµÏ á¼Î³á½¼ ἀπέσταλκα Ï€Ïὸς σὲ λέγων τὸ á¼€ÏγύÏιόν σου καὶ τὸ χÏυσίον σου καὶ τὰς γυναῖκάς σου καὶ τὰ τέκνα σου δώσεις á¼Î¼Î¿á½· (lxx) 1Ki 20:5 Revertentesque nuntii, dixerunt: Hæc dicit Benadad, qui misit nos ad te: Argentum tuum, et aurum tuum, et uxores tuas, et filios tuos, dabis mihi.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:5 Und die Boten kamen wieder und sprachen: So spricht Benhadad: Weil ich zu dir gesandt habe und lassen sagen: Dein Silber und dein Gold, deine Weiber und deine Kinder sollst du mir geben,(dhs) 1Ki 20:5 Then the messengers came back and said, "Thus speaks Ben-Hadad, saying, 'Indeed I have sent to you, saying, "You shall deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children";(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:6 ============ 1Ki 20:6 but about this time tomorrow I will send my servants to you, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants; and whatever is desirable in your eyes, they will take in their hand and carry away.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:6 ὅτι ταύτην τὴν á½¥Ïαν αὔÏιον ἀποστελῶ τοὺς παῖδάς μου Ï€Ïὸς σέ καὶ á¼Ïευνήσουσιν τὸν οἶκόν σου καὶ τοὺς οἴκους τῶν παίδων σου καὶ ἔσται τὰ á¼Ï€Î¹Î¸Ï…μήματα ὀφθαλμῶν αá½Ï„ῶν á¼Ï†á¾½ ἃ ἂν á¼Ï€Î¹Î²á½±Î»Ï‰ÏƒÎ¹ τὰς χεῖÏας αá½Ï„ῶν καὶ λήμψονται (lxx) 1Ki 20:6 Cras igitur hac eadem hora mittam servos meos ad te, et scrutabuntur domum tuam, et domum servorum tuorum: et omne quod eis placuerit, ponent in manibus suis, et auferent.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:6 so will ich morgen um diese Zeit meine Knechte zu dir senden, daß sie dein Haus und deiner Untertanen Häuser durchsuchen; und was dir lieblich ist, sollen sie in ihre Hände nehmen und wegtragen.(dhs) 1Ki 20:6 but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants. And it shall be, that whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hands and take it.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:7 ============ 1Ki 20:7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, "Please observe and see how this man is looking for trouble; for he sent to me for my wives and my children and my silver and my gold, and I did not refuse him."(nasb) 1Ki 20:7 καὶ á¼Îºá½±Î»ÎµÏƒÎµÎ½ ὠβασιλεὺς ΙσÏαηλ πάντας τοὺς Ï€ÏεσβυτέÏους καὶ εἶπεν γνῶτε δὴ καὶ ἴδετε ὅτι κακίαν οὗτος ζητεῖ ὅτι ἀπέσταλκεν Ï€Ïός με πεÏá½¶ τῶν γυναικῶν μου καὶ πεÏá½¶ τῶν υἱῶν μου καὶ πεÏá½¶ τῶν θυγατέÏων μου τὸ á¼€ÏγύÏιόν μου καὶ τὸ χÏυσίον μου οá½Îº ἀπεκώλυσα ἀπ᾽ αá½Ï„οῦ (lxx) 1Ki 20:7 Vocavit autem rex Israël omnes seniores terræ, et ait: Animadvertite, et videte quoniam insidietur nobis: misit enim ad me pro uxoribus meis, et filiis, et pro argento et auro: et non abnui.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:7 Da rief der König Israels alle Ältesten des Landes und sprach: Merkt und seht, wie böse er's vornimmt! Er hat zu mir gesandt um meine Weiber und Kinder, Silber und Gold, und ich hab ihm nichts verweigert.(dhs) 1Ki 20:7 So the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, "Notice, please, and see how this man seeks trouble, for he sent to me for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold; and I did not deny him."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:8 ============ 1Ki 20:8 All the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not listen or consent."(nasb) 1Ki 20:8 καὶ εἶπαν αá½Ï„á¿· οἱ Ï€ÏεσβύτεÏοι καὶ πᾶς ὠλαός μὴ ἀκούσῃς καὶ μὴ θελήσῃς (lxx) 1Ki 20:8 Dixeruntque omnes majores natu, et universus populus, ad eum: Non audias, neque acquiescas illi.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:8 Da sprachen zu ihm alle Alten und das Volk: Du sollst nicht gehorchen noch bewilligen.(dhs) 1Ki 20:8 And all the elders and all the people said to him, "Do not listen or consent."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:9 ============ 1Ki 20:9 So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.'" And the messengers departed and brought him word again.(nasb) 1Ki 20:9 καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀγγέλοις υἱοῦ Î‘Î´ÎµÏ Î»á½³Î³ÎµÏ„Îµ τῷ κυÏίῳ ὑμῶν πάντα ὅσα ἀπέσταλκας Ï€Ïὸς τὸν δοῦλόν σου á¼Î½ Ï€Ïώτοις ποιήσω τὸ δὲ ῥῆμα τοῦτο οὠδυνήσομαι ποιῆσαι καὶ ἀπῆÏαν οἱ ἄνδÏες καὶ á¼Ï€á½³ÏƒÏ„Ïεψαν αá½Ï„á¿· λόγον (lxx) 1Ki 20:9 Respondit itaque nuntiis Benadad: Dicite domino meo regi: Omnia propter quæ misisti ad me servum tuum in initio, faciam: hanc autem rem facere non possum.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:9 Und er sprach zu den Boten Benhadads: Sagt meinem Herrn, dem König: Alles, was du am ersten entboten hast, will ich tun; aber dies kann ich nicht tun. Und die Boten gingen hin und sagten solches wieder.(dhs) 1Ki 20:9 Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you sent for to your servant the first time I will do, but this thing I cannot do.' " And the messengers departed and brought back word to him.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:10 ============ 1Ki 20:10 Ben-hadad sent to him and said, "May the gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria will suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me."(nasb) 1Ki 20:10 καὶ ἀνταπέστειλεν Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„ὸν υἱὸς Î‘Î´ÎµÏ Î»á½³Î³Ï‰Î½ τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὠθεὸς καὶ τάδε Ï€Ïοσθείη εἰ á¼ÎºÏ€Î¿Î¹á½µÏƒÎµÎ¹ ὠχοῦς ΣαμαÏείας ταῖς ἀλώπεξιν παντὶ τῷ λαῷ τοῖς πεζοῖς μου (lxx) 1Ki 20:10 Reversique nuntii retulerunt ei. Qui remisit, et ait: Hæc faciant mihi dii, et hæc addant, si suffecerit pulvis Samariæ pugillis omnis populi qui sequitur me.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:10 Da sandte Benhadad zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Die Götter tun mir dies und das, wo der Staub Samarias genug sein soll, daß alles Volk unter mir eine Handvoll davon bringe.(dhs) 1Ki 20:10 Then Ben-Hadad sent to him and said, "The gods do so to me, and more also, if enough dust is left of Samaria for a handful for each of the people who follow me."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:11 ============ 1Ki 20:11 Then the king of Israel replied, "Tell him, 'Let not him who girds on his armor boast like him who takes it off.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:11 καὶ ἀπεκÏίθη ὠβασιλεὺς ΙσÏαηλ καὶ εἶπεν ἱκανούσθω μὴ καυχάσθω ὠκυÏτὸς ὡς á½ á½€Ïθός (lxx) 1Ki 20:11 Et respondens rex Israël, ait: Dicite ei: Ne glorietur, accinctus æque ut discinctus.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:11 Aber der König Israels antwortete und sprach: Sagt: Der den Harnisch anlegt, soll sich nicht rühmen wie der, der ihn hat abgelegt.(dhs) 1Ki 20:11 So the king of Israel answered and said, "Tell him, 'Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.' "(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:12 ============ 1Ki 20:12 When Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking with the kings in the temporary shelters, he said to his servants, "Station yourselves." So they stationed themselves against the city.(nasb) 1Ki 20:12 καὶ á¼Î³á½³Î½ÎµÏ„ο ὅτε ἀπεκÏίθη αá½Ï„á¿· τὸν λόγον τοῦτον πίνων ἦν αá½Ï„ὸς καὶ πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς μετ᾽ αá½Ï„οῦ á¼Î½ σκηναῖς καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς παισὶν αá½Ï„οῦ οἰκοδομήσατε χάÏακα καὶ ἔθεντο χάÏακα á¼Ï€á½¶ τὴν πόλιν (lxx) 1Ki 20:12 Factum est autem cum audisset Benadad verbum istud, bibebat ipse et reges in umbraculis: et ait servis suis: Circumdate civitatem. Et circumdederunt eam.~(vulgate) 1Ki 20:12 Da das Benhadad hörte und er eben trank mit den Königen in den Gezelten, sprach er zu seinen Knechten: Schickt euch! Und sie schickten sich wider die Stadt.(dhs) 1Ki 20:12 And it happened when Ben-Hadad heard this message, as he and the kings were drinking at the command post, that he said to his servants, "Get ready." And they got ready to attack the city.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:13 ============ 1Ki 20:13 Now behold, a prophet approached Ahab king of Israel and said, "Thus says the Lord, 'Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver them into your hand today, and you shall know that I am the Lord.'"(nasb) 1Ki 20:13 καὶ ἰδοὺ Ï€Ïοφήτης εἷς Ï€Ïοσῆλθεν τῷ βασιλεῖ ΙσÏαηλ καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύÏιος εἰ ἑόÏακας πάντα τὸν ὄχλον τὸν μέγαν τοῦτον ἰδοὺ á¼Î³á½¼ δίδωμι αá½Ï„ὸν σήμεÏον εἰς χεῖÏας σάς καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι á¼Î³á½¼ κύÏιος (lxx) 1Ki 20:13 Et ecce propheta unus accedens ad Achab regem Israël, ait ei: Hæc dicit Dominus: Certe vidisti omnem multitudinem hanc nimiam? ecce ego tradam eam in manu tua hodie, ut scias quia ego sum Dominus.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:13 Und siehe, ein Prophet trat zu Ahab, dem Königs Israels, und sprach: So spricht der HERR: Du hast ja gesehen all diesen großen Haufen. So he said, "Thus says the Lord, 'By the young men of the rulers of the provinces.'" Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" And he answered, "You."(nasb) 1Ki 20:14 καὶ εἶπεν Αχααβ á¼Î½ τίνι καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύÏιος á¼Î½ τοῖς παιδαÏίοις τῶν á¼€Ïχόντων τῶν χωÏῶν καὶ εἶπεν Αχααβ τίς συνάψει τὸν πόλεμον καὶ εἶπεν σύ 1Ki 20:14 Et ait Achab: Per quem? Dixitque ei: Hæc dicit Dominus: Per pedissequos principum provinciarum. Et ait: Quis incipiet præliari? Et ille dixit: Tu.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:14 Ahab sprach: Durch wen? And he answered, "You."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:15 ============ 1Ki 20:15 Then he mustered the young men of the rulers of the provinces, and there were 232; and after them he mustered all the people, even all the sons of Israel, 7,000.(nasb) 1Ki 20:15 καὶ á¼Ï€ÎµÏƒÎºá½³ÏˆÎ±Ï„ο Αχααβ τὰ παιδάÏια τῶν á¼€Ïχόντων τῶν χωÏῶν καὶ á¼Î³á½³Î½Î¿Î½Ï„ο διακόσιοι καὶ Ï„Ïιάκοντα καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα á¼Ï€ÎµÏƒÎºá½³ÏˆÎ±Ï„ο τὸν λαόν πᾶν υἱὸν δυνάμεως ἑξήκοντα χιλιάδας (lxx) 1Ki 20:15 Recensuit ergo pueros principum provinciarum, et reperit numerum ducentorum triginta duorum: et recensuit post eos populum, omnes filios Israël, septem millia.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:15 Da zählte er die Landvögte, und ihrer waren zweihundertzweiunddreißig, und zählte nach ihnen das Volk aller Kinder Israel, siebentausend Mann.(dhs) 1Ki 20:15 Then he mustered the young leaders of the provinces, and there were two hundred and thirty-two; and after them he mustered all the people, all the children of Israel--seven thousand.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:16 ============ 1Ki 20:16 They went out at noon, while Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the temporary shelters with the thirty-two kings who helped him.(nasb) 1Ki 20:16 καὶ á¼Î¾á¿†Î»Î¸ÎµÎ½ μεσημβÏίας καὶ υἱὸς Î‘Î´ÎµÏ Ï€á½·Î½Ï‰Î½ μεθύων á¼Î½ Σοκχωθ αá½Ï„ὸς καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς Ï„Ïιάκοντα καὶ δύο βασιλεῖς συμβοηθοὶ μετ᾽ αá½Ï„οῦ 1Ki 20:16 Et egressi sunt meridie. Benadad autem bibebat temulentus in umbraculo suo, et reges triginta duo cum eo, qui ad auxilium ejus venerant.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:16 Und sie zogen aus am Mittag. Meanwhile Ben-Hadad and the thirty-two kings helping him were getting drunk at the command post.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 20:17 ============ 1Ki 20:17 The young men of the rulers of the provinces went out first; and Ben-hadad sent out and they told him, saying, "Men have come out from Samaria."(nasb) 1Ki 20:17 καὶ á¼Î¾á¿†Î»Î¸Î¿Î½ παιδάÏια á¼€Ïχόντων τῶν χωÏῶν á¼Î½ Ï€Ïώτοις καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν καὶ ἀπαγγέλλουσιν τῷ βασιλεῖ ΣυÏίας λέγοντες ἄνδÏες á¼Î¾ÎµÎ»Î·Î»á½»Î¸Î±ÏƒÎ¹Î½ á¼Îº ΣαμαÏείας (lxx) 1Ki 20:17 Egressi sunt autem pueri principum provinciarum in prima fronte. Misit itaque Benadad: qui nuntiaverunt ei, dicentes: Viri egressi sunt de Samaria.(vulgate) 1Ki 20:17 Und die Leute der Landvögte zogen am ersten aus. Benhadad aber sandte aus, und die sagten ihm an und sprachen: Es ziehen Männer aus Samaria.(dhs) 1Ki 20:17 The young leaders of the provinces went out first. So he said, "Go, bring him."
