Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."(nasb) Job 2:2 καὶ εἶπεν ὠκύÏιος τῷ διαβόλῳ πόθεν σὺ á¼”Ïχῃ τότε εἶπεν ὠδιάβολος á¼Î½á½½Ï€Î¹Î¿Î½ τοῦ κυÏίου διαποÏευθεὶς τὴν ὑπ᾽ οá½Ïανὸν καὶ á¼Î¼Ï€ÎµÏιπατήσας τὴν σύμπασαν πάÏειμι (lxx) Job 2:2 ut diceret Dominus ad Satan: Unde venis? Qui respondens ait: Circuivi terram, et perambulavi eam.(vulgate) Job 2:2 Da sprach der HERR zu dem Satan: Wo kommst du her? Der Satan antwortete dem HERRN und sprach: Ich habe das Land umher durchzogen.(dhs) Job 2:2 And the Lord said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the Lord and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it."(nkjv) ======= Job 2:3 ============ Job 2:3 The Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause."(nasb) Job 2:3 εἶπεν δὲ ὠκύÏιος Ï€Ïὸς τὸν διάβολον Ï€Ïοσέσχες οὖν τῷ θεÏάποντί μου Ιωβ ὅτι οá½Îº ἔστιν κατ᾽ αá½Ï„ὸν τῶν á¼Ï€á½¶ τῆς γῆς ἄνθÏωπος ἄκακος ἀληθινός ἄμεμπτος θεοσεβής ἀπεχόμενος ἀπὸ παντὸς κακοῦ ἔτι δὲ ἔχεται ἀκακίας σὺ δὲ εἶπας τὰ ὑπάÏχοντα αá½Ï„οῦ διὰ κενῆς ἀπολέσαι (lxx) Job 2:3 Et dixit Dominus ad Satan: Numquid considerasti servum meum Job, quod non sit ei similis in terra, vir simplex et rectus, ac timens Deum, et recedens a malo, et adhuc retinens innocentiam? tu autem commovisti me adversus eum, ut affligerem eum frustra.(vulgate) Job 2:3 Der HERR sprach zu dem Satan: Hast du nicht acht auf meinen Knecht Hiob gehabt? Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.(nkjv) ======= Job 2:5 ============ Job 2:5 However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face."(nasb) Job 2:5 οὠμὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ ἀποστείλας τὴν χεῖÏá½± σου ἅψαι τῶν ὀστῶν αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ τῶν σαÏκῶν αá½Ï„οῦ εἰ μὴν εἰς Ï€Ïόσωπόν σε εá½Î»Î¿Î³á½µÏƒÎµÎ¹ (lxx) Job 2:5 alioquin mitte manum tuam, et tange os ejus et carnem, et tunc videbis quod in faciem benedicat tibi.(vulgate) Job 2:5 Aber recke deine Hand aus und taste sein Gebein und Fleisch an: was gilt's, er wird dir ins Angesicht absagen?(dhs) Job 2:5 But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"(nkjv) ======= Job 2:6 ============ Job 2:6 So the Lord said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life."(nasb) Job 2:6 εἶπεν δὲ ὠκύÏιος τῷ διαβόλῳ ἰδοὺ παÏαδίδωμί σοι αá½Ï„όν μόνον τὴν ψυχὴν αá½Ï„οῦ διαφύλαξον (lxx) Job 2:6 Dixit ergo Dominus ad Satan: Ecce in manu tua est: verumtamen animam illius serva.(vulgate) Job 2:6 Der HERR sprach zu dem Satan: Siehe da, er ist in deiner Hand; doch schone seines Lebens!(dhs) Job 2:6 And the Lord said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life."(nkjv) ======= Job 2:7 ============ Job 2:7 Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.(nasb) Job 2:7 á¼Î¾á¿†Î»Î¸ÎµÎ½ δὲ ὠδιάβολος ἀπὸ τοῦ κυÏίου καὶ ἔπαισεν τὸν Ιωβ ἕλκει πονηÏá¿· ἀπὸ ποδῶν ἕως κεφαλῆς (lxx) Job 2:7 Egressus igitur Satan a facie Domini, percussit Job ulcere pessimo, a planta pedis usque ad verticem ejus;(vulgate) Job 2:7 Da fuhr der Satan aus vom Angesicht des HERRN und schlug Hiob mit bösen Schwären von der Fußsohle an bis auf seinen Scheitel.(dhs) Job 2:7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.(nkjv) ======= Job 2:8 ============ Job 2:8 And he took a potsherd to scrape himself while he was sitting among the ashes.(nasb) Job 2:8 καὶ ἔλαβεν ὄστÏακον ἵνα τὸν ἰχῶÏα ξύῃ καὶ á¼Îºá½±Î¸Î·Ï„ο á¼Ï€á½¶ τῆς κοπÏίας ἔξω τῆς πόλεως (lxx) Job 2:8 qui testa saniem radebat, sedens in sterquilinio.(vulgate) Job 2:8 Und er nahm eine Scherbe und schabte sich und saß in der Asche.(dhs) Job 2:8 And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes.(nkjv) ======= Job 2:9 ============ Job 2:9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!"(nasb) Job 2:9 χÏόνου δὲ πολλοῦ Ï€Ïοβεβηκότος εἶπεν αá½Ï„á¿· ἡ γυνὴ αá½Ï„οῦ μέχÏι τίνος καÏτεÏήσεις λέγων Job 2:9 Dixit autem illi uxor sua: Adhuc tu permanes in simplicitate tua? Benedic Deo, et morere.(vulgate) Job 2:9 Und sein Weib sprach zu ihm: Hältst du noch fest an deiner Frömmigkeit? Ja, sage Gott ab und stirb!(dhs) Job 2:9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!"(nkjv) ======= Job 2:10 ============ Job 2:10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.(nasb) Job 2:10 ὠδὲ á¼Î¼Î²Î»á½³ÏˆÎ±Ï‚ εἶπεν αá½Ï„ῇ á½¥ÏƒÏ€ÎµÏ Î¼á½·Î± τῶν ἀφÏόνων γυναικῶν á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎ±Ï‚ εἰ τὰ ἀγαθὰ á¼Î´ÎµÎ¾á½±Î¼ÎµÎ¸Î± á¼Îº χειÏὸς κυÏίου τὰ κακὰ οá½Ï‡ ὑποίσομεν á¼Î½ πᾶσιν τούτοις τοῖς συμβεβηκόσιν αá½Ï„á¿· οá½Î´á½²Î½ ἥμαÏτεν Ιωβ τοῖς χείλεσιν á¼Î½Î±Î½Ï„ίον τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) Job 2:10 Qui ait ad illam: Quasi una de stultis mulieribus locuta es: si bona suscepimus de manu Dei, mala quare non suscipiamus? In omnibus his non peccavit Job labiis suis.~(vulgate) Job 2:10 Er aber sprach zu ihr: Du redest, wie die närrischen Weiber reden. Haben wir Gutes empfangen von Gott und sollten das Böse nicht auch annehmen? In diesem allem versündigte sich Hiob nicht mit seinen Lippen.(dhs) Job 2:10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. In all this Job did not sin with his lips.(nkjv) ======= Job 2:11 ============ Job 2:11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, they came each one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him.(nasb) Job 2:11 ἀκούσαντες δὲ οἱ Ï„Ïεῖς φίλοι αá½Ï„οῦ τὰ κακὰ πάντα τὰ á¼Ï€ÎµÎ»Î¸á½¹Î½Ï„α αá½Ï„á¿· παÏεγένοντο ἕκαστος á¼Îº τῆς ἰδίας χώÏας Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„όν Ελιφας ὠΘαιμανων βασιλεύς Βαλδαδ ὠΣαυχαίων τύÏαννος Î£Ï‰Ï†Î±Ï á½ ÎœÎ¹Î½Î±á½·Ï‰Î½ βασιλεύς καὶ παÏεγένοντο Ï€Ïὸς αá½Ï„ὸν á½Î¼Î¿Î¸Ï…μαδὸν τοῦ παÏακαλέσαι καὶ á¼Ï€Î¹ÏƒÎºá½³ÏˆÎ±ÏƒÎ¸Î±Î¹ αá½Ï„όν (lxx) Job 2:11 Igitur audientes tres amici Job omne malum quod accidisset ei, venerunt singuli de loco suo, Eliphaz Themanites, et Baldad Suhites, et Sophar Naamathites. Condixerant enim ut pariter venientes visitarent eum, et consolarentur.(vulgate) Job 2:11 Da aber die drei Freunde Hiobs hörten all das Unglück, das über ihn gekommen war, kamen sie, ein jeglicher aus seinem Ort: Eliphas von Theman, Bildad von Suah und Zophar von Naema. And each of them tore his robe and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky.(nasb) Job 2:12 ἰδόντες δὲ αá½Ï„ὸν πόÏÏωθεν οá½Îº á¼Ï€á½³Î³Î½Ï‰ÏƒÎ±Î½ καὶ βοήσαντες φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἔκλαυσαν ῥήξαντες ἕκαστος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ στολὴν καὶ καταπασάμενοι γῆν (lxx) Job 2:12 Cumque elevassent procul oculos suos, non cognoverunt eum, et exclamantes ploraverunt, scissisque vestibus sparserunt pulverem super caput suum in cælum.(vulgate) Job 2:12 Und da sie ihre Augen aufhoben von ferne, kannten sie ihn nicht und hoben auf ihre Stimme und weinten, und ein jeglicher zerriß sein Kleid, und sie sprengten Erde auf ihr Haupt gen Himmel(dhs) Job 2:12 And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven.(nkjv) ======= Job 2:13 ============ Job 2:13 Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great.(nasb) Job 2:13 παÏεκάθισαν αá½Ï„á¿· ἑπτὰ ἡμέÏας καὶ ἑπτὰ νύκτας καὶ οá½Î´Îµá½¶Ï‚ αá½Ï„ῶν á¼Î»á½±Î»Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ ἑώÏων Î³á½°Ï Ï„á½´Î½ πληγὴν δεινὴν οὖσαν καὶ μεγάλην σφόδÏα (lxx) Job 2:13 Et sederunt cum eo in terra septem diebus et septem noctibus: et nemo loquebatur ei verbum: videbant enim dolorem esse vehementem.(vulgate) Job 2:13 und saßen mit ihm auf der Erde sieben Tage und sieben Nächte und redeten nichts mit ihm; denn sie sahen, daß der Schmerz sehr groß war.(dhs) Job 2:13 So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.(nkjv) ======= Job 3:1 ============
