And He built a tower in the middle of it And also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones.(nasb) Isa 5:2 καὶ φÏαγμὸν πεÏιέθηκα καὶ á¼Ï‡Î±Ïάκωσα καὶ á¼Ï†á½»Ï„ευσα ἄμπελον σωÏηχ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησα πύÏγον á¼Î½ μέσῳ αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ Ï€Ïολήνιον ὤÏυξα á¼Î½ αá½Ï„á¿· καὶ ἔμεινα τοῦ ποιῆσαι σταφυλήν á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ δὲ ἀκάνθας (lxx) Isa 5:2 Et sepivit eam, et lapides elegit ex illa, et plantavit eam electam; et ædificavit turrim in medio ejus, et torcular exstruxit in ea; et exspectavit ut faceret uvas, et fecit labruscas.(vulgate) Isa 5:2 Und er hat ihn verzäunt und mit Steinhaufen verwahrt und edle Reben darin gesenkt. Er baute auch einen Turm darin und grub eine Kelter darein und wartete, daß er Trauben brächte; aber er brachte Herlinge.(dhs) Isa 5:2 He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?(nasb) Isa 5:4 τί ποιήσω ἔτι τῷ ἀμπελῶνί μου καὶ οá½Îº á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎ± αá½Ï„á¿· διότι ἔμεινα τοῦ ποιῆσαι σταφυλήν á¼Ï€Î¿á½·Î·ÏƒÎµÎ½ δὲ ἀκάνθας (lxx) Isa 5:4 Quid est quod debui ultra facere vineæ meæ, et non feci ei? an quod exspectavi ut faceret uvas, et fecit labruscas?(vulgate) Isa 5:4 Was sollte man doch noch mehr tun an meinem Weinberge, das ich nicht getan habe an ihm? Warum hat er denn Herlinge gebracht, da ich erwartete, daß er Trauben brächte?(dhs) Isa 5:4 What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:5 ============ Isa 5:5 "So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground.(nasb) Isa 5:5 νῦν δὲ ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν τί ποιήσω τῷ ἀμπελῶνί μου ἀφελῶ τὸν φÏαγμὸν αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ ἔσται εἰς διαÏπαγήν καὶ καθελῶ τὸν τοῖχον αá½Ï„οῦ καὶ ἔσται εἰς καταπάτημα (lxx) Isa 5:5 Et nunc ostendam vobis quid ego faciam vineæ meæ: auferam sepem ejus, et erit in direptionem; diruam maceriam ejus, et erit in conculcationem.(vulgate) Isa 5:5 Wohlan, ich will euch zeigen, was ich meinem Weinberge tun will. Seine Wand soll weggenommen werden, daß er verwüstet werde; sein Zaun soll zerrissen werden, daß er zertreten werde.(dhs) Isa 5:5 And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:6 ============ Isa 5:6 "I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it."(nasb) Isa 5:6 καὶ ἀνήσω τὸν ἀμπελῶνά μου καὶ οὠμὴ τμηθῇ οá½Î´á½² μὴ σκαφῇ καὶ ἀναβήσεται εἰς αá½Ï„ὸν ὡς εἰς χέÏσον ἄκανθα καὶ ταῖς νεφέλαις á¼Î½Ï„ελοῦμαι τοῦ μὴ βÏέξαι εἰς αá½Ï„ὸν ὑετόν (lxx) Isa 5:6 Et ponam eam desertam; non putabitur et non fodietur: et ascendent vepres et spinæ, et nubibus mandabo ne pluant super eam imbrem.(vulgate) Isa 5:6 Ich will ihn wüst liegen lassen, daß er nicht beschnitten noch gehackt werde, sondern Disteln und Dornen darauf wachsen, und will den Wolken gebieten, daß sie nicht darauf regnen.(dhs) Isa 5:6 I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. Er wartete auf Recht, siehe, so ist's Schinderei, auf Gerechtigkeit, siehe, so ist's Klage.(dhs) Isa 5:7 For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:8 ============ Isa 5:8 Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field, Until there is no more room, So that you have to live alone in the midst of the land!(nasb) Isa 5:8 οá½Î±á½¶ οἱ συνάπτοντες οἰκίαν Ï€Ïὸς οἰκίαν καὶ ἀγÏὸν Ï€Ïὸς ἀγÏὸν á¼Î³Î³á½·Î¶Î¿Î½Ï„ες ἵνα τοῦ πλησίον ἀφέλωνταί τι μὴ οἰκήσετε μόνοι á¼Ï€á½¶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Isa 5:8 [Væ qui conjungitis domum ad domum, et agrum agro copulatis usque ad terminum loci! Numquid habitabitis vos soli in medio terræ?(vulgate) Isa 5:8 Weh denen, die ein Haus an das andere ziehen und einen Acker zum andern bringen, bis daß kein Raum mehr da sei, daß sie allein das Land besitzen!(dhs) Isa 5:8 Woe to those who join house to house; They add field to field, Till there is no place Where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:9 ============ Isa 5:9 In my ears the Lord of hosts has sworn, "Surely, many houses shall become desolate, Even great and fine ones, without occupants.(nasb) Isa 5:9 ἠκούσθη Î³á½°Ï Îµá¼°Ï‚ τὰ ὦτα κυÏίου σαβαωθ ταῦτα á¼á½°Î½ Î³á½°Ï Î³á½³Î½Ï‰Î½Ï„Î±Î¹ οἰκίαι πολλαί εἰς á¼”Ïημον ἔσονται μεγάλαι καὶ καλαί καὶ οá½Îº ἔσονται οἱ á¼Î½Î¿Î¹ÎºÎ¿á¿¦Î½Ï„ες á¼Î½ αá½Ï„αῖς (lxx) Isa 5:9 In auribus meis sunt hæc, dicit Dominus exercituum; nisi domus multæ desertæ fuerint, grandes et pulchræ, absque habitatore.(vulgate) Isa 5:9 Es ist in meinen Ohren das Wort des HERRN Zebaoth: Was gilt's, wo nicht die vielen Häuser sollen wüst werden und die großen und feinen öde stehen?(dhs) Isa 5:9 In my hearing the Lord of hosts said, "Truly, many houses shall be desolate, Great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:10 ============ Isa 5:10 "For ten acres of vineyard will yield only one bath of wine, And a homer of seed will yield but an ephah of grain."(nasb) Isa 5:10 οὗ Î³á½°Ï á¼Ïγῶνται δέκα ζεύγη βοῶν ποιήσει κεÏάμιον ἕν καὶ ὠσπείÏων á¼€Ïτάβας ἓξ ποιήσει μέτÏα Ï„Ïία (lxx) Isa 5:10 Decem enim jugera vinearum facient lagunculam unam, et triginta modii sementis facient modios tres.(vulgate) Isa 5:10 Denn zehn Acker Weinberg soll nur einen Eimer geben und ein Malter Samen soll nur einen Scheffel geben.(dhs) Isa 5:10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, And a homer of seed shall yield one ephah."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:11 ============ Isa 5:11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink, Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!(nasb) Isa 5:11 οá½Î±á½¶ οἱ á¼Î³ÎµÎ¹Ïόμενοι τὸ Ï€Ïωὶ καὶ τὸ σικεÏα διώκοντες οἱ μένοντες τὸ ὀψέ á½ Î³á½°Ï Î¿á¼¶Î½Î¿Ï‚ αá½Ï„οὺς συγκαύσει (lxx) Isa 5:11 Væ qui consurgitis mane ad ebrietatem sectandam, et potandum usque ad vesperam, ut vino æstuetis!(vulgate) Isa 5:11 Weh denen, die des Morgens früh auf sind, des Saufens sich zu fleißigen, und sitzen bis in die Nacht, daß sie der Wein erhitzt,(dhs) Isa 5:11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning, That they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:12 ============ Isa 5:12 Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; But they do not pay attention to the deeds of the Lord, Nor do they consider the work of His hands.(nasb) Isa 5:12 μετὰ Î³á½°Ï ÎºÎ¹Î¸á½±Ïας καὶ ψαλτηÏίου καὶ τυμπάνων καὶ αá½Î»á¿¶Î½ τὸν οἶνον πίνουσιν τὰ δὲ á¼”Ïγα κυÏίου οá½Îº á¼Î¼Î²Î»á½³Ï€Î¿Ï…σιν καὶ τὰ á¼”Ïγα τῶν χειÏῶν αá½Ï„οῦ οὠκατανοοῦσιν (lxx) Isa 5:12 Cithara, et lyra, et tympanum, et tibia, et vinum in conviviis vestris; et opus Domini non respicitis, nec opera manuum ejus consideratis.(vulgate) Isa 5:12 und haben Harfen, Psalter, Pauken, Pfeifen und Wein in ihrem Wohlleben und sehen nicht auf das Werk des HERRN und schauen nicht auf das Geschäft seiner Hände!(dhs) Isa 5:12 The harp and the strings, The tambourine and flute, And wine are in their feasts; Their glory and their multitude and their pomp, And he who is jubilant, shall descend into it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:15 ============ Isa 5:15 So the common man will be humbled and the man of importance abased, The eyes of the proud also will be abased.(nasb) Isa 5:15 καὶ ταπεινωθήσεται ἄνθÏωπος καὶ ἀτιμασθήσεται á¼€Î½á½µÏ ÎºÎ±á½¶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ οἱ μετέωÏοι ταπεινωθήσονται (lxx) Isa 5:15 Et incurvabitur homo, et humiliabitur vir, et oculi sublimium deprimentur.(vulgate) Isa 5:15 daß jedermann sich bücken müsse und jedermann gedemütigt werde und die Augen der Hoffärtigen gedemütigt werden,(dhs) Isa 5:15 People shall be brought down, Each man shall be humbled, And the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:16 ============ Isa 5:16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.(nasb) Isa 5:16 καὶ ὑψωθήσεται κύÏιος σαβαωθ á¼Î½ κÏίματι καὶ ὠθεὸς ὠἅγιος δοξασθήσεται á¼Î½ δικαιοσύνῃ (lxx) Isa 5:16 Et exaltabitur Dominus exercituum in judicio; et Deus sanctus sanctificabitur in justitia.(vulgate) Isa 5:16 aber der HERR Zebaoth erhöht werde im Recht und Gott, der Heilige, geheiligt werde in Gerechtigkeit.(dhs) Isa 5:16 But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, And God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:17 ============ Isa 5:17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, And strangers will eat in the waste places of the wealthy.(nasb) Isa 5:17 καὶ βοσκηθήσονται οἱ διηÏπασμένοι ὡς ταῦÏοι καὶ τὰς á¼Ïήμους τῶν ἀπειλημμένων ἄÏνες φάγονται (lxx) Isa 5:17 Et pascentur agni juxta ordinem suum, et deserta in ubertatem versa advenæ comedent.]~(vulgate) Isa 5:17 Da werden die Lämmer sich weiden an jener Statt, und Fremdlinge werden sich nähren in den Wüstungen der Fetten.(dhs) Isa 5:17 Then the lambs shall feed in their pasture, And in the waste places of the fat ones strangers shall eat.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:18 ============ Isa 5:18 Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes;(nasb) Isa 5:18 οá½Î±á½¶ οἱ á¼Ï€Î¹ÏƒÏ€á½½Î¼ÎµÎ½Î¿Î¹ τὰς á¼Î¼Î±Ïτίας ὡς σχοινίῳ μακÏá¿· καὶ ὡς ζυγοῦ ἱμάντι δαμάλεως τὰς ἀνομίας (lxx) Isa 5:18 [Væ qui trahitis iniquitatem in funiculis vanitatis, et quasi vinculum plaustri peccatum!(vulgate) Isa 5:18 Weh denen, die am Unrecht ziehen mit Stricken der Lüge und an der Sünde mit Wagenseilen(dhs) Isa 5:18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, And sin as if with a cart rope;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:19 ============ Isa 5:19 Who say, "Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near And come to pass, that we may know it!"(nasb) Isa 5:19 οἱ λέγοντες τὸ τάχος á¼Î³Î³Î¹Ïƒá½±Ï„ω ἃ ποιήσει ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ á¼Î»Î¸á½±Ï„ω ἡ βουλὴ τοῦ á¼Î³á½·Î¿Ï… ΙσÏαηλ ἵνα γνῶμεν (lxx) Isa 5:19 qui dicitis: Festinet, et cito veniat opus ejus, ut videamus; et appropiet, et veniat consilium sancti Israël, et sciemus illud!(vulgate) Isa 5:19 und sprechen: Laß eilend und bald kommen sein Werk, daß wir's sehen; laß herfahren und kommen den Anschlag des Heiligen in Israel, daß wir's innewerden.(dhs) Isa 5:19 That say, "Let Him make speed and hasten His work, That we may see it; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:21 ============ Isa 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!(nasb) Isa 5:21 οá½Î±á½¶ οἱ συνετοὶ á¼Î½ ἑαυτοῖς καὶ á¼Î½á½½Ï€Î¹Î¿Î½ ἑαυτῶν á¼Ï€Î¹ÏƒÏ„ήμονες (lxx) Isa 5:21 Væ qui sapientes estis in oculis vestris, et coram vobismetipsis prudentes.(vulgate) Isa 5:21 Weh denen, die bei sich selbst weise sind und halten sich selbst für klug!(dhs) Isa 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:22 ============ Isa 5:22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine And valiant men in mixing strong drink,(nasb) Isa 5:22 οá½Î±á½¶ οἱ ἰσχύοντες ὑμῶν οἱ τὸν οἶνον πίνοντες καὶ οἱ δυνάσται οἱ κεÏαννύντες τὸ σικεÏα (lxx) Isa 5:22 Væ qui potentes estis ad bibendum vinum, et viri fortes ad miscendam ebrietatem!(vulgate) Isa 5:22 Weh denen, die Helden sind, Wein zu saufen, und Krieger in Völlerei;(dhs) Isa 5:22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:23 ============ Isa 5:23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!(nasb) Isa 5:23 οἱ δικαιοῦντες τὸν ἀσεβῆ ἕνεκεν δώÏων καὶ τὸ δίκαιον τοῦ δικαίου αἴÏοντες (lxx) Isa 5:23 qui justificatis impium pro muneribus, et justitiam justi aufertis ab eo!(vulgate) Isa 5:23 die den Gottlosen gerechtsprechen um Geschenke willen und das Recht der Gerechten von ihnen wenden!(dhs) Isa 5:23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 5:24 ============ Isa 5:24 Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble And dry grass collapses into the flame, So their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust;
