They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.(nasb) Isa 58:2 á¼Î¼á½² ἡμέÏαν á¼Î¾ ἡμέÏας ζητοῦσιν καὶ γνῶναί μου τὰς á½Î´Î¿á½ºÏ‚ á¼Ï€Î¹Î¸Ï…μοῦσιν ὡς λαὸς δικαιοσύνην πεποιηκὼς καὶ κÏίσιν θεοῦ αá½Ï„οῦ μὴ á¼Î³ÎºÎ±Ï„αλελοιπὼς αἰτοῦσίν με νῦν κÏίσιν δικαίαν καὶ á¼Î³Î³á½·Î¶ÎµÎ¹Î½ θεῷ á¼Ï€Î¹Î¸Ï…μοῦσιν (lxx) Isa 58:2 Me etenim de die in diem quærunt, et scire vias meas volunt, quasi gens quæ justitiam fecerit, et judicium Dei sui non dereliquerit. Rogant me judicia justitiæ; appropinquare Deo volunt.(vulgate) Isa 58:2 Sie suchen mich täglich und wollen meine Wege wissen wie ein Volk, das Gerechtigkeit schon getan und das Recht ihres Gottes nicht verlassen hätte. Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?'Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And drive hard all your workers.(nasb) Isa 58:3 λέγοντες τί ὅτι á¼Î½Î·ÏƒÏ„εύσαμεν καὶ οá½Îº εἶδες á¼Ï„απεινώσαμεν τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν καὶ οá½Îº ἔγνως á¼Î½ Î³á½°Ï Ï„Î±á¿–Ï‚ ἡμέÏαις τῶν νηστειῶν ὑμῶν εὑÏίσκετε τὰ θελήματα ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ὑποχειÏίους ὑμῶν ὑπονύσσετε (lxx) Isa 58:3 Quare jejunavimus, et non aspexisti; humiliavimus animas nostras, et nescisti? Ecce in die jejunii vestri invenitur voluntas vestra, et omnes debitores vestros repetitis.(vulgate) Isa 58:3 "Warum fasten wir, und du siehst es nicht an? Warum tun wir unserm Leibe wehe, und du willst's nicht wissen?" Siehe, wenn ihr fastet, so übt ihr doch euren Willen und treibt alle eure Arbeiter.(dhs) Isa 58:3 'Why have we fasted,' they say, 'and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?' "In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:4 ============ Isa 58:4 "Behold, you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high.(nasb) Isa 58:4 εἰ εἰς κÏίσεις καὶ μάχας νηστεύετε καὶ τύπτετε πυγμαῖς ταπεινόν ἵνα τί μοι νηστεύετε ὡς σήμεÏον ἀκουσθῆναι á¼Î½ κÏαυγῇ τὴν φωνὴν ὑμῶν (lxx) Isa 58:4 Ecce ad lites et contentiones jejunatis, et percutitis pugno impie. Nolite jejunare sicut usque ad hanc diem, ut audiatur in excelso clamor vester.(vulgate) Isa 58:4 Siehe, ihr fastet, daß ihr hadert und zanket und schlaget mit gottloser Faust. Wie ihr jetzt tut, fastet ihr nicht also, daß eure Stimme in der Höhe gehört würde.(dhs) Isa 58:4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:5 ============ Isa 58:5 "Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one's head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?(nasb) Isa 58:5 οὠταύτην τὴν νηστείαν á¼Î¾ÎµÎ»ÎµÎ¾á½±Î¼Î·Î½ καὶ ἡμέÏαν ταπεινοῦν ἄνθÏωπον τὴν ψυχὴν αá½Ï„οῦ οá½Î´á¾½ ἂν κάμψῃς ὡς κÏίκον τὸν Ï„Ïάχηλόν σου καὶ σάκκον καὶ σποδὸν ὑποστÏώσῃ οá½Î´á¾½ οὕτως καλέσετε νηστείαν δεκτήν (lxx) Isa 58:5 Numquid tale est jejunium quod elegi, per diem affligere hominem animam suam? numquid contorquere quasi circulum caput suum, et saccum et cinerem sternere? numquid istud vocabis jejunium, et diem acceptabilem Domino?]~(vulgate) Isa 58:5 Sollte das ein Fasten sein, das ich erwählen soll, daß ein Mensch seinem Leibe des Tages übel tue oder seinen Kopf hänge wie ein Schilf oder auf einem Sack und in der Asche liege? Wollt ihr das ein Fasten nennen und einen Tag, dem HERRN angenehm?(dhs) Isa 58:5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Dissolve colligationes impietatis, solve fasciculos deprimentes, dimitte eos qui confracti sunt liberos, et omne opus dirumpe;(vulgate) Isa 58:6 Das ist aber ein Fasten, das ich erwähle: Laß los, welche du mit Unrecht gebunden hast; laß ledig, welche du beschwerst; gib frei, welche du drängst; reiß weg allerlei Last;(dhs) Isa 58:6 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:7 ============ Isa 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?(nasb) Isa 58:7 διάθÏυπτε πεινῶντι τὸν ἄÏτον σου καὶ πτωχοὺς ἀστέγους εἴσαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου á¼á½°Î½ ἴδῃς γυμνόν πεÏίβαλε καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν οἰκείων τοῦ σπέÏματός σου οá½Ï‡ ὑπεÏόψῃ (lxx) Isa 58:7 frange esurienti panem tuum, et egenos vagosque induc in domum tuam; cum videris nudum, operi eum, et carnem tuam ne despexeris.(vulgate) Isa 58:7 brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot, und die, so im Elend sind, führe ins Haus; so du einen nackt siehst, so kleide ihn, und entzieh dich nicht von deinem Fleisch.(dhs) Isa 58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:8 ============ Isa 58:8 "Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.(nasb) Isa 58:8 τότε ῥαγήσεται Ï€Ïόιμον τὸ φῶς σου καὶ τὰ ἰάματά σου ταχὺ ἀνατελεῖ καὶ Ï€ÏοποÏεύσεται ἔμπÏοσθέν σου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου καὶ ἡ δόξα τοῦ θεοῦ πεÏιστελεῖ σε (lxx) Isa 58:8 Tunc erumpet quasi mane lumen tuum; et sanitas tua citius orietur, et anteibit faciem tuam justitia tua, et gloria Domini colliget te.(vulgate) Isa 58:8 Alsdann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte, und deine Besserung wird schnell wachsen, und deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir hergehen, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN wird dich zu sich nehmen.(dhs) Isa 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:9 ============ Isa 58:9 "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,(nasb) Isa 58:9 τότε βοήσῃ καὶ ὠθεὸς εἰσακούσεταί σου ἔτι λαλοῦντός σου á¼Ïεῖ ἰδοὺ πάÏειμι á¼á½°Î½ ἀφέλῃς ἀπὸ σοῦ σύνδεσμον καὶ χειÏοτονίαν καὶ ῥῆμα γογγυσμοῦ (lxx) Isa 58:9 Tunc invocabis, et Dominus exaudiet; clamabis, et dicet: Ecce adsum. Si abstuleris de medio tui catenam, et desieris extendere digitum et loqui quod non prodest;(vulgate) Isa 58:9 Dann wirst du rufen, so wird dir der HERR antworten; wenn du wirst schreien, wird er sagen: Siehe, hier bin ich. et eris quasi hortus irriguus, et sicut fons aquarum cujus non deficient aquæ.(vulgate) Isa 58:11 und der HERR wird dich immerdar führen und deine Seele sättigen in der Dürre und deine Gebeine stärken; und du wirst sein wie ein gewässerter Garten und wie eine Wasserquelle, welcher es nimmer an Wasser fehlt;(dhs) Isa 58:11 The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.(nasb) Isa 58:12 καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσονταί σου αἱ á¼”Ïημοι αἰώνιοι καὶ ἔσται σου τὰ θεμέλια αἰώνια γενεῶν γενεαῖς καὶ κληθήσῃ οἰκοδόμος φÏαγμῶν καὶ τοὺς Ï„Ïίβους τοὺς ἀνὰ μέσον παύσεις (lxx) Isa 58:12 Et ædificabuntur in te deserta sæculorum, fundamenta generationis et generationis suscitabis; et vocaberis ædificator sepium, avertens semitas in quietem.(vulgate) Isa 58:12 und soll durch dich gebaut werden, was lange wüst gelegen ist; und wirst Grund legen, der für und für bleibe; und sollst heißen: Der die Lücken verzäunt und die Wege bessert, daß man da wohnen möge.(dhs) Isa 58:12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:13 ============ Isa 58:13 "If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word,(nasb) Isa 58:13 á¼á½°Î½ ἀποστÏέψῃς τὸν πόδα σου ἀπὸ τῶν σαββάτων τοῦ μὴ ποιεῖν τὰ θελήματά σου á¼Î½ τῇ ἡμέÏá¾³ τῇ á¼Î³á½·á¾³ καὶ καλέσεις τὰ σάββατα Ï„ÏυφεÏá½± ἅγια τῷ θεῷ σου οá½Îº á¼€Ïεῖς τὸν πόδα σου á¼Ï€á¾½ á¼”Ïγῳ οá½Î´á½² λαλήσεις λόγον á¼Î½ á½€Ïγῇ á¼Îº τοῦ στόματός σου (lxx) Isa 58:13 Si averteris a sabbato pedem tuum facere voluntatem tuam in die sancto meo, et vocaveris sabbatum delicatum, et sanctum Domini gloriosum, et glorificaveris eum dum non facis vias tuas, et non invenitur voluntas tua, ut loquaris sermonem:(vulgate) Isa 58:13 So du deinen Fuß von dem Sabbat kehrst, daß du nicht tust, was dir gefällt an meinem heiligen Tage, und den Sabbat eine Lust heißt und den Tag, der dem HERRN heilig ist, ehrest, so du ihn also ehrest, daß du nicht tust deine Wege, noch darin erfunden werde, was dir gefällt oder leeres Geschwätz;(dhs) Isa 58:13 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:14 ============ Isa 58:14 Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
