Phi 1:6 πεποιθὼς αὐτὸ τοῦτο, ὅτι ὁ ἐναρξάμενος ἐν ὑμῖν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἐπιτελέσει ἄχρι ἡμέρας χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:7 For it is only right for me to feel this way about you all, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of grace with me. Phi 1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. Phi 1:14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:15 Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will; Phi 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: (kjv) Phi 1:15 Etliche zwar predigen Christum um des Neides und Haders willen, etliche aber aus guter Meinung. Phi 1:15 τινὲς μὲν καὶ διὰ φθόνον καὶ ἔριν, τινὲς δὲ καὶ δι᾽ εὐδοκίαν τὸν χριστὸν κηρύσσουσιν· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:16 the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; Phi 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: (kjv) Phi 1:16 Jene verkündigen Christum aus Zank und nicht lauter; denn sie meinen, sie wollen eine Trübsal zuwenden meinen Banden; Phi 1:16 οἱ μὲν ἐξ ἀγάπης, εἰδότες ὅτι εἰς ἀπολογίαν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου κεῖμαι, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:17 the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause me distress in my imprisonment. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. Phi 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; Phi 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: (kjv) Phi 1:23 Denn es liegt mir beides hart an: ich habe Lust, abzuscheiden und bei Christo zu sein, was auch viel besser wäre; Phi 1:23 συνέχομαι δὲ ἐκ τῶν δύο, τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν ἔχων εἰς τὸ ἀναλῦσαι καὶ σὺν χριστῶ εἶναι, πολλῶ [γὰρ] μᾶλλον κρεῖσσον· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:24 yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. Phi 1:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith, Phi 1:25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; (kjv) Phi 1:25 Und in guter Zuversicht weiß ich, daß ich bleiben und bei euch allen sein werde, euch zur Förderung und Freude des Glaubens, Phi 1:25 καὶ τοῦτο πεποιθὼς οἶδα ὅτι μενῶ καὶ παραμενῶ πᾶσιν ὑμῖν εἰς τὴν ὑμῶν προκοπὴν καὶ χαρὰν τῆς πίστεως, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 1:26 so that your proud confidence in me may abound in Christ Jesus through my coming to you again. Phi 1:26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. Phi 1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. Phi 2:2 πληρώσατέ μου τὴν χαρὰν ἵνα τὸ αὐτὸ φρονῆτε, τὴν αὐτὴν ἀγάπην ἔχοντες, σύμψυχοι, τὸ ἓν φρονοῦντες, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; Phi 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. (kjv) Phi 2:3 Nichts tut durch Zank oder eitle Ehre; sondern durch Demut achte einer den andern höher denn sich selbst, Phi 2:3 μηδὲν κατ᾽ ἐριθείαν μηδὲ κατὰ κενοδοξίαν, ἀλλὰ τῇ ταπεινοφροσύνῃ ἀλλήλους ἡγούμενοι ὑπερέχοντας ἑαυτῶν, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (kjv) Phi 2:9 Darum hat ihn auch Gott erhöht und hat ihm einen Namen gegeben, der über alle Namen ist, Phi 2:9 διὸ καὶ ὁ θεὸς αὐτὸν ὑπερύψωσεν καὶ ἐχαρίσατο αὐτῶ τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ὑπὲρ πᾶν ὄνομα, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (kjv) Phi 2:10 daß in dem Namen Jesu sich beugen aller derer Kniee, die im Himmel und auf Erden und unter der Erde sind, Phi 2:10 ἵνα ἐν τῶ ὀνόματι ἰησοῦ πᾶν γόνυ κάμψῃ ἐπουρανίων καὶ ἐπιγείων καὶ καταχθονίων, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phi 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; Phi 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Phi 2:12 ὥστε, ἀγαπητοί μου, καθὼς πάντοτε ὑπηκούσατε, μὴ ὡς ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ μου μόνον ἀλλὰ νῦν πολλῶ μᾶλλον ἐν τῇ ἀπουσίᾳ μου, μετὰ φόβου καὶ τρόμου τὴν ἑαυτῶν σωτηρίαν κατεργάζεσθε· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Phi 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; Phi 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (kjv) Phi 2:14 Tut alles ohne Murren und ohne Zweifel, Phi 2:14 πάντα ποιεῖτε χωρὶς γογγυσμῶν καὶ διαλογισμῶν, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, Phi 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (kjv) Phi 2:15 auf daß ihr seid ohne Tadel und lauter und Gottes Kinder, unsträflich mitten unter dem unschlachtigen und verkehrten Geschlecht, unter welchem ihr scheinet als Lichter in der Welt, Phi 2:15 ἵνα γένησθε ἄμεμπτοι καὶ ἀκέραιοι, τέκνα θεοῦ ἄμωμα μέσον γενεᾶς σκολιᾶς καὶ διεστραμμένης, ἐν οἷς φαίνεσθε ὡς φωστῆρες ἐν κόσμῳ, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. Phi 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. Phi 2:17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. Phi 2:17 ἀλλὰ εἰ καὶ σπένδομαι ἐπὶ τῇ θυσίᾳ καὶ λειτουργίᾳ τῆς πίστεως ὑμῶν, χαίρω καὶ συγχαίρω πᾶσιν ὑμῖν· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me. Phi 2:18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition. Phi 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:20 For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. Phi 2:20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. Phi 2:20 οὐδένα γὰρ ἔχω ἰσόψυχον ὅστις γνησίως τὰ περὶ ὑμῶν μεριμνήσει, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:21 For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus. Phi 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:22 But you know of his proven worth, that he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel like a child serving his father. Phi 2:22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:23 Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me; Phi 2:23 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. Phi 2:23 τοῦτον μὲν οὗν ἐλπίζω πέμψαι ὡς ἂν ἀφίδω τὰ περὶ ἐμὲ ἐξαυτῆς· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:24 and I trust in the Lord that I myself also will be coming shortly. Phi 2:24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need; Phi 2:25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. (kjv) Phi 2:25 Ich habe es aber für nötig angesehen, den Bruder Epaphroditus zu euch zu senden, der mein Gehilfe und Mitstreiter und euer Gesandter und meiner Notdurft Diener ist; Phi 2:25 ἀναγκαῖον δὲ ἡγησάμην ἐπαφρόδιτον τὸν ἀδελφὸν καὶ συνεργὸν καὶ συστρατιώτην μου, ὑμῶν δὲ ἀπόστολον καὶ λειτουργὸν τῆς χρείας μου, πέμψαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:26 because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick. Phi 2:26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:27 For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow. Phi 2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:28 Therefore I have sent him all the more eagerly so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be less concerned about you. Phi 2:28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:29 Receive him then in the Lord with all joy, and hold men like him in high regard; Phi 2:29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: (kjv) Phi 2:29 So nehmet ihn nun auf in dem HERRN mit allen Freuden und habt solche Leute in Ehren. Phi 2:29 προσδέχεσθε οὗν αὐτὸν ἐν κυρίῳ μετὰ πάσης χαρᾶς, καὶ τοὺς τοιούτους ἐντίμους ἔχετε, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 2:30 because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me. Phi 2:30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.(kjv) Phi 2:30 Denn um des Werkes Christi willen ist er dem Tode so nahe gekommen, da er sein Leben gering bedachte, auf daß er mir diente an eurer Statt. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you. Phi 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, Phi 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (kjv) Phi 3:3 Denn wir sind die Beschneidung, die wir Gott im Geiste dienen und rühmen uns von Christo Jesu und verlassen uns nicht auf Fleisch, Phi 3:3 ἡμεῖς γάρ ἐσμεν ἡ περιτομή, οἱ πνεύματι θεοῦ λατρεύοντες καὶ καυχώμενοι ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐν σαρκὶ πεποιθότες, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 3:4 although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: (kjv) Phi 3:4 wiewohl ich auch habe, daß ich mich Fleisches rühmen könnte. So ein anderer sich dünken läßt, er könnte sich Fleisches rühmen, ich könnte es viel mehr: Phi 3:4 καίπερ ἐγὼ ἔχων πεποίθησιν καὶ ἐν σαρκί. εἴ τις δοκεῖ ἄλλος πεποιθέναι ἐν σαρκί, ἐγὼ μᾶλλον· ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 3:5 circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; Phi 3:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; (kjv) Phi 3:5 der ich am achten Tag beschnitten bin, einer aus dem Volk von Israel, des Geschlechts Benjamin, ein Hebräer von Hebräern und nach dem Gesetz ein Pharisäer, Phi 3:5 περιτομῇ ὀκταήμερος, ἐκ γένους ἰσραήλ, φυλῆς βενιαμίν, ἑβραῖος ἐξ ἑβραίων, κατὰ νόμον φαρισαῖος, ------------------------------------------------------ Phi 3:6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.
