------------------------------------------------------ Heb 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:17 ὅθεν ὤφειλεν κατὰ πάντα τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὁμοιωθῆναι, ἵνα ἐλεήμων γένηται καὶ πιστὸς ἀρχιερεὺς τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, εἰς τὸ ἱλάσκεσθαι τὰς ἁμαρτίας τοῦ λαοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. Heb 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. (kjv) Heb 3:15 Indem gesagt wird: "Heute, so ihr seine Stimme hören werdet, so verstocket eure Herzen nicht, wie in der Verbitterung geschah": Heb 3:15 ἐν τῶ λέγεσθαι, σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε, μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς ἐν τῶ παραπικρασμῶ. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 3:16 For who provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? Heb 3:16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. Heb 3:16 τίνες γὰρ ἀκούσαντες παρεπίκραναν; ἀλλ᾽ οὐ πάντες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ αἰγύπτου διὰ μωϊσέως; ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 3:17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? Heb 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? Heb 3:17 τίσιν δὲ προσώχθισεν τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη; οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν, ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ; ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 3:18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? Heb 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? Heb 3:18 τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν; ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 3:19 So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. Heb 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.(kjv) Heb 3:19 Und wir sehen, daß sie nicht haben können hineinkommen um des Unglaubens willen. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Heb 4:1 φοβηθῶμεν οὗν μήποτε καταλειπομένης ἐπαγγελίας εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ δοκῇ τις ἐξ ὑμῶν ὑστερηκέναι· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS"; Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (kjv) Heb 4:4 sprach er an einem Ort von dem siebenten Tag also: "Und Gott ruhte am siebenten Tage von allen seinen Werken;" Heb 4:4 εἴρηκεν γάρ που περὶ τῆς ἑβδόμης οὕτως, καὶ κατέπαυσεν ὁ θεὸς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST." Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: (kjv) Heb 4:6 Nachdem es nun noch vorhanden ist, daß etliche sollen zu ihr kommen, und die, denen es zuerst verkündigt ist, sind nicht dazu gekommen um des Unglaubens willen, Heb 4:6 ἐπεὶ οὗν ἀπολείπεται τινὰς εἰσελθεῖν εἰς αὐτήν, καὶ οἱ πρότερον εὐαγγελισθέντες οὐκ εἰσῆλθον δι᾽ ἀπείθειαν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:9 ἄρα ἀπολείπεται σαββατισμὸς τῶ λαῶ τοῦ θεοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12 ζῶν γὰρ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐνεργὴς καὶ τομώτερος ὑπὲρ πᾶσαν μάχαιραν δίστομον καὶ διϊκνούμενος ἄχρι μερισμοῦ ψυχῆς καὶ πνεύματος, ἁρμῶν τε καὶ μυελῶν, καὶ κριτικὸς ἐνθυμήσεων καὶ ἐννοιῶν καρδίας· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb 4:14 ἔχοντες οὗν ἀρχιερέα μέγαν διεληλυθότα τοὺς οὐρανούς, ἰησοῦν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ θεοῦ, κρατῶμεν τῆς ὁμολογίας· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.(kjv) Heb 4:16 Darum laßt uns hinzutreten mit Freudigkeit zu dem Gnadenstuhl, auf daß wir Barmherzigkeit empfangen und Gnade finden auf die Zeit, wenn uns Hilfe not sein wird. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; Heb 5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: (kjv) Heb 5:1 Denn ein jeglicher Hoherpriester, der aus den Menschen genommen wird, der wird gesetzt für die Menschen gegen Gott, auf daß er opfere Gaben und Opfer für die Sünden; Heb 5:1 πᾶς γὰρ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐξ ἀνθρώπων λαμβανόμενος ὑπὲρ ἀνθρώπων καθίσταται τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, ἵνα προσφέρῃ δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίας ὑπὲρ ἁμαρτιῶν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:2 he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is beset with weakness; Heb 5:2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. Heb 5:2 μετριοπαθεῖν δυνάμενος τοῖς ἀγνοοῦσιν καὶ πλανωμένοις, ἐπεὶ καὶ αὐτὸς περίκειται ἀσθένειαν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:3 and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins, as for the people, so also for himself. Heb 5:3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:4 And no one takes the honor to himself, but receives it when he is called by God, even as Aaron was. Heb 5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU"; Heb 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. Heb 5:5 οὕτως καὶ ὁ χριστὸς οὐχ ἑαυτὸν ἐδόξασεν γενηθῆναι ἀρχιερέα, ἀλλ᾽ ὁ λαλήσας πρὸς αὐτόν, υἱός μου εἶ σύ, ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:6 just as He says also in another passage, "YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK." Heb 5:6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:7 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; (kjv) Heb 5:7 Und er hat in den Tagen seines Fleisches Gebet und Flehen mit starkem Geschrei und Tränen geopfert zu dem, der ihm von dem Tode konnte aushelfen; und ist auch erhört, darum daß er Gott in Ehren hatte. Heb 5:7 ὃς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ, δεήσεις τε καὶ ἱκετηρίας πρὸς τὸν δυνάμενον σῴζειν αὐτὸν ἐκ θανάτου μετὰ κραυγῆς ἰσχυρᾶς καὶ δακρύων προσενέγκας καὶ εἰσακουσθεὶς ἀπὸ τῆς εὐλαβείας, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (kjv) Heb 5:8 Und wiewohl er Gottes Sohn war, hat er doch an dem, was er litt Gehorsam gelernt. Heb 5:8 καίπερ ὢν υἱὸς ἔμαθεν ἀφ᾽ ὧν ἔπαθεν τὴν ὑπακοήν· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (kjv) Heb 5:9 Und da er vollendet war, ist er geworden allen, die ihm gehorsam sind, eine Ursache zur ewigen Seligkeit. Heb 5:9 καὶ τελειωθεὶς ἐγένετο πᾶσιν τοῖς ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῶ αἴτιος σωτηρίας αἰωνίου, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:10 being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Heb 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. Heb 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. Heb 5:13 πᾶς γὰρ ὁ μετέχων γάλακτος ἄπειρος λόγου δικαιοσύνης, νήπιος γάρ ἐστιν· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.(kjv) Heb 5:14 Den Vollkommenen aber gehört starke Speise, die durch Gewohnheit haben geübte Sinne zu unterscheiden Gutes und Böses. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (kjv) Heb 6:1 Darum wollen wir die Lehre vom Anfang christlichen Lebens jetzt lassen und zur Vollkommenheit fahren, nicht abermals Grund legen von Buße der toten Werke, vom Glauben an Gott, Heb 6:1 διὸ ἀφέντες τὸν τῆς ἀρχῆς τοῦ χριστοῦ λόγον ἐπὶ τὴν τελειότητα φερώμεθα, μὴ πάλιν θεμέλιον καταβαλλόμενοι μετανοίας ἀπὸ νεκρῶν ἔργων, καὶ πίστεως ἐπὶ θεόν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:3 And this we will do, if God permits. Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (kjv) Heb 6:4 Denn es ist unmöglich, die, so einmal erleuchtet sind und geschmeckt haben die himmlische Gabe und teilhaftig geworden sind des heiligen Geistes Heb 6:4 ἀδύνατον γὰρ τοὺς ἅπαξ φωτισθέντας, γευσαμένους τε τῆς δωρεᾶς τῆς ἐπουρανίου καὶ μετόχους γενηθέντας πνεύματος ἁγίου ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (kjv) Heb 6:5 und geschmeckt haben das gütige Wort Gottes und die Kräfte der zukünftigen Welt, Heb 6:5 καὶ καλὸν γευσαμένους θεοῦ ῥῆμα δυνάμεις τε μέλλοντος αἰῶνος, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:7 For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; Heb 6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: (kjv) Heb 6:7 Denn die Erde, die den Regen trinkt, der oft über sie kommt, und nützliches Kraut trägt denen, die sie bauen, empfängt Segen von Gott. Heb 6:7 γῆ γὰρ ἡ πιοῦσα τὸν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς ἐρχόμενον πολλάκις ὑετόν, καὶ τίκτουσα βοτάνην εὔθετον ἐκείνοις δι᾽ οὓς καὶ γεωργεῖται, μεταλαμβάνει εὐλογίας ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned. Heb 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:9 But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way. Heb 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. Heb 6:9 πεπείσμεθα δὲ περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀγαπητοί, τὰ κρείσσονα καὶ ἐχόμενα σωτηρίας, εἰ καὶ οὕτως λαλοῦμεν· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints. Heb 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: (kjv) Heb 6:11 Wir begehren aber, daß euer jeglicher denselben Fleiß beweise, die Hoffnung festzuhalten bis ans Ende, Heb 6:11 ἐπιθυμοῦμεν δὲ ἕκαστον ὑμῶν τὴν αὐτὴν ἐνδείκνυσθαι σπουδὴν πρὸς τὴν πληροφορίαν τῆς ἐλπίδος ἄχρι τέλους, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, Heb 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, (kjv) Heb 6:13 Denn als Gott Abraham verhieß, da er bei keinem Größeren zu schwören hatte, schwur er bei sich selbst Heb 6:13 τῶ γὰρ ἀβραὰμ ἐπαγγειλάμενος ὁ θεός, ἐπεὶ κατ᾽ οὐδενὸς εἶχεν μείζονος ὀμόσαι, ὤμοσεν καθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:14 saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU." Heb 6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. Heb 6:14 λέγων, εἰ μὴν εὐλογῶν εὐλογήσω σε καὶ πληθύνων πληθυνῶ σε· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. Heb 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:16 For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. Heb 6:16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Heb 6:16 ἄνθρωποι γὰρ κατὰ τοῦ μείζονος ὀμνύουσιν, καὶ πάσης αὐτοῖς ἀντιλογίας πέρας εἰς βεβαίωσιν ὁ ὅρκος· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, Heb 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: (kjv) Heb 6:17 So hat Gott, da er wollte den Erben der Verheißung überschwenglich beweisen, daß sein Rat nicht wankte, einen Eid dazu getan, Heb 6:17 ἐν ᾧ περισσότερον βουλόμενος ὁ θεὸς ἐπιδεῖξαι τοῖς κληρονόμοις τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τὸ ἀμετάθετον τῆς βουλῆς αὐτοῦ ἐμεσίτευσεν ὅρκῳ, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (kjv) Heb 6:18 auf daß wir durch zwei Stücke, die nicht wanken (denn es ist unmöglich, daß Gott lüge), einen starken Trost hätten, die wir Zuflucht haben und halten an der angebotenen Hoffnung, Heb 6:18 ἵνα διὰ δύο πραγμάτων ἀμεταθέτων, ἐν οἷς ἀδύνατον ψεύσασθαι [τὸν] θεόν, ἰσχυρὰν παράκλησιν ἔχωμεν οἱ καταφυγόντες κρατῆσαι τῆς προκειμένης ἐλπίδος· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (kjv) Heb 6:19 welche wir haben als einen sichern und festen Anker unsrer Seele, der auch hineingeht in das Inwendige des Vorhangs, Heb 6:19 ἣν ὡς ἄγκυραν ἔχομεν τῆς ψυχῆς, ἀσφαλῆ τε καὶ βεβαίαν καὶ εἰσερχομένην εἰς τὸ ἐσώτερον τοῦ καταπετάσματος, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 6:20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Heb 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.(kjv) Heb 6:20 dahin der Vorläufer für uns eingegangen, Jesus, ein Hoherpriester geworden in Ewigkeit nach der Ordnung Melchisedeks. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, Heb 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (kjv) Heb 7:1 Dieser Melchisedek aber war ein König von Salem, ein Priester Gottes, des Allerhöchsten, der Abraham entgegenging, da er von der Könige Schlacht wiederkam, und segnete ihn; Heb 7:1 οὖτος γὰρ ὁ μελχισέδεκ, βασιλεὺς σαλήμ, ἱερεὺς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου, ὁ συναντήσας ἀβραὰμ ὑποστρέφοντι ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς τῶν βασιλέων καὶ εὐλογήσας αὐτόν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all the spoils, was first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace. Heb 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (kjv) Heb 7:2 welchem auch Abraham gab den Zehnten aller Güter. Aufs erste wird er verdolmetscht: ein König der Gerechtigkeit; darnach aber ist er auch ein König Salems, das ist: ein König des Friedens; Heb 7:2 ᾧ καὶ δεκάτην ἀπὸ πάντων ἐμέρισεν ἀβραάμ, πρῶτον μὲν ἑρμηνευόμενος βασιλεὺς δικαιοσύνης ἔπειτα δὲ καὶ βασιλεὺς σαλήμ, ὅ ἐστιν βασιλεὺς εἰρήνης, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually. Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:4 Now observe how great this man was to whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth of the choicest spoils. Heb 7:4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:5 And those indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest's office have commandment in the Law to collect a tenth from the people, that is, from their brethren, although these are descended from Abraham. Heb 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: (kjv) Heb 7:5 Zwar die Kinder Levi, die das Priestertum empfangen, haben ein Gebot, den Zehnten vom Volk, das ist von ihren Brüdern, zu nehmen nach dem Gesetz, wiewohl auch diese aus den Lenden Abrahams gekommen sind. Heb 7:5 καὶ οἱ μὲν ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν λευὶ τὴν ἱερατείαν λαμβάνοντες ἐντολὴν ἔχουσιν ἀποδεκατοῦν τὸν λαὸν κατὰ τὸν νόμον, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν, καίπερ ἐξεληλυθότας ἐκ τῆς ὀσφύος ἀβραάμ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:6 But the one whose genealogy is not traced from them collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises. Heb 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:7 But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater. Heb 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. (kjv) Heb 7:7 Nun ist's ohne alles Widersprechen also, daß das Geringere von dem Besseren gesegnet wird; Heb 7:7 χωρὶς δὲ πάσης ἀντιλογίας τὸ ἔλαττον ὑπὸ τοῦ κρείττονος εὐλογεῖται. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:8 In this case mortal men receive tithes, but in that case one receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives on. Heb 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:9 And, so to speak, through Abraham even Levi, who received tithes, paid tithes, Heb 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. (kjv) Heb 7:9 Und, daß ich also sage, es ist auch Levi, der den Zehnten nimmt, verzehntet durch Abraham, Heb 7:9 καὶ ὡς ἔπος εἰπεῖν, δι᾽ ἀβραὰμ καὶ λευὶ ὁ δεκάτας λαμβάνων δεδεκάτωται, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him. Heb 7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:11 Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron? Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? Heb 7:11 εἰ μὲν οὗν τελείωσις διὰ τῆς λευιτικῆς ἱερωσύνης ἦν, ὁ λαὸς γὰρ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς νενομοθέτηται, τίς ἔτι χρεία κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ ἕτερον ἀνίστασθαι ἱερέα καὶ οὐ κατὰ τὴν τάξιν ἀαρὼν λέγεσθαι; ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:12 For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:13 For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. Heb 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. Heb 7:13 ἐφ᾽ ὃν γὰρ λέγεται ταῦτα φυλῆς ἑτέρας μετέσχηκεν, ἀφ᾽ ἧς οὐδεὶς προσέσχηκεν τῶ θυσιαστηρίῳ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:15 And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, (kjv) Heb 7:15 Und es ist noch viel klarer, so nach der Weise Melchisedeks ein andrer Priester aufkommt, Heb 7:15 καὶ περισσότερον ἔτι κατάδηλόν ἐστιν, εἰ κατὰ τὴν ὁμοιότητα μελχισέδεκ ἀνίσταται ἱερεὺς ἕτερος, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:16 who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. Heb 7:16 ὃς οὐ κατὰ νόμον ἐντολῆς σαρκίνης γέγονεν ἀλλὰ κατὰ δύναμιν ζωῆς ἀκαταλύτου, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:17 For it is attested of Him, "YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK." Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:18 For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness Heb 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. (kjv) Heb 7:18 Denn damit wird das vorige Gebot aufgehoben, darum daß es zu schwach und nicht nütze war Heb 7:18 ἀθέτησις μὲν γὰρ γίνεται προαγούσης ἐντολῆς διὰ τὸ αὐτῆς ἀσθενὲς καὶ ἀνωφελές, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:20 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath Heb 7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: (kjv) Heb 7:20 und dazu, was viel ist, nicht ohne Eid. Denn jene sind ohne Eid Priester geworden, Heb 7:20 καὶ καθ᾽ ὅσον οὐ χωρὶς ὁρκωμοσίας, οἱ μὲν γὰρ χωρὶς ὁρκωμοσίας εἰσὶν ἱερεῖς γεγονότες, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:21 (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, "THE LORD HAS SWORN AND WILL NOT CHANGE HIS MIND, 'YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER'"); Heb 7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:) (kjv) Heb 7:21 dieser aber mit dem Eid, durch den, der zu ihm spricht: "Der HERR hat geschworen, und es wird ihn nicht gereuen: Du bist ein Priester in Ewigkeit nach der Ordnung Melchisedeks." Heb 7:21 ὁ δὲ μετὰ ὁρκωμοσίας διὰ τοῦ λέγοντος πρὸς αὐτόν, ὤμοσεν κύριος, καὶ οὐ μεταμεληθήσεται, σὺ ἱερεὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. Heb 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. (kjv) Heb 7:22 Also eines so viel besseren Testaments Ausrichter ist Jesus geworden. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, Heb 7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: (kjv) Heb 7:23 Und jener sind viele, die Priester wurden, darum daß sie der Tod nicht bleiben ließ; Heb 7:23 καὶ οἱ μὲν πλείονές εἰσιν γεγονότες ἱερεῖς διὰ τὸ θανάτῳ κωλύεσθαι παραμένειν· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Heb 7:24 ὁ δὲ διὰ τὸ μένειν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἀπαράβατον ἔχει τὴν ἱερωσύνην· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (kjv) Heb 7:26 Denn einen solchen Hohenpriester sollten wir haben, der da wäre heilig, unschuldig, unbefleckt, von den Sünden abgesondert und höher, denn der Himmel ist; Heb 7:26 τοιοῦτος γὰρ ἡμῖν καὶ ἔπρεπεν ἀρχιερεύς, ὅσιος, ἄκακος, ἀμίαντος, κεχωρισμένος ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν, καὶ ὑψηλότερος τῶν οὐρανῶν γενόμενος· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 7:28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. Heb 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.(kjv) Heb 7:28 denn das Gesetz macht Menschen zu Hohenpriestern, die da Schwachheit haben; dies Wort aber des Eides, das nach dem Gesetz gesagt ward, setzt den Sohn ein, der ewig und vollkommen ist. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:1 Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (kjv) Heb 8:1 Das ist nun die Hauptsache, davon wir reden: Wir haben einen solchen Hohenpriester, der da sitzt zu der Rechten auf dem Stuhl der Majestät im Himmel Heb 8:1 κεφάλαιον δὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς λεγομένοις, τοιοῦτον ἔχομεν ἀρχιερέα, ὃς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θρόνου τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:2 a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man. Heb 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; so it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer. Heb 8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law; Heb 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: (kjv) Heb 8:4 Wenn er nun auf Erden wäre, so wäre er nicht Priester, dieweil da Priester sind, die nach dem Gesetz die Gaben opfern, Heb 8:4 εἰ μὲν οὗν ἦν ἐπὶ γῆς, οὐδ᾽ ἂν ἦν ἱερεύς, ὄντων τῶν προσφερόντων κατὰ νόμον τὰ δῶρα· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:5 who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, "SEE," He says,"THAT YOU MAKE all things ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN WHICH WAS SHOWN YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN." Heb 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. Heb 8:5 οἵτινες ὑποδείγματι καὶ σκιᾷ λατρεύουσιν τῶν ἐπουρανίων, καθὼς κεχρημάτισται μωϊσῆς μέλλων ἐπιτελεῖν τὴν σκηνήν, ὅρα γάρ, φησίν, ποιήσεις πάντα κατὰ τὸν τύπον τὸν δειχθέντα σοι ἐν τῶ ὄρει· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion sought for a second. Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Heb 8:7 εἰ γὰρ ἡ πρώτη ἐκείνη ἦν ἄμεμπτος, οὐκ ἂν δευτέρας ἐζητεῖτο τόπος· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, He says, "BEHOLD, DAYS ARE COMING, SAYS THE LORD, WHEN I WILL EFFECT A NEW COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AND WITH THE HOUSE OF JUDAH; Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: (kjv) Heb 8:8 Denn er tadelt sie und sagt: "Siehe, es kommen die Tage, spricht der HERR, daß ich über das Haus Israel und über das Haus Juda ein neues Testament machen will; Heb 8:8 μεμφόμενος γὰρ αὐτοὺς λέγει, ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται, λέγει κύριος, καὶ συντελέσω ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰούδα διαθήκην καινήν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:9 NOT LIKE THE COVENANT WHICH I MADE WITH THEIR FATHERS ON THE DAY WHEN I TOOK THEM BY THE HAND TO LEAD THEM OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT; FOR THEY DID NOT CONTINUE IN MY COVENANT, AND I DID NOT CARE FOR THEM, SAYS THE LORD. Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:10 "FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: (kjv) Heb 8:10 Denn das ist das Testament, das ich machen will dem Hause Israel nach diesen Tagen, spricht der HERR: Ich will geben mein Gesetz in ihren Sinn, und in ihr Herz will ich es schreiben, und will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:11 "AND THEY SHALL NOT TEACH EVERYONE HIS FELLOW CITIZEN, AND EVERYONE HIS BROTHER, SAYING, 'KNOW THE LORD,' FOR ALL WILL KNOW ME, FROM THE LEAST TO THE GREATEST OF THEM. Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:12 "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE." Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (kjv) Heb 8:12 Denn ich will gnädig sein ihrer Untugend und ihren Sünden, und ihrer Ungerechtigkeit will ich nicht mehr gedenken." ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 8:13 When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear. Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.(kjv) Heb 8:13 Indem er sagt: "Ein neues", macht das erste alt. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:1 Now even the first covenant had regulations of divine worship and the earthly sanctuary. Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:2 For there was a tabernacle prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the sacred bread; this is called the holy place. Heb 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. Heb 9:2 σκηνὴ γὰρ κατεσκευάσθη ἡ πρώτη ἐν ᾗ ἥ τε λυχνία καὶ ἡ τράπεζα καὶ ἡ πρόθεσις τῶν ἄρτων, ἥτις λέγεται ἅγια· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:3 Behind the second veil there was a tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies, Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; (kjv) Heb 9:3 Hinter dem andern Vorhang aber war die Hütte, die da heißt das Allerheiligste; Heb 9:3 μετὰ δὲ τὸ δεύτερον καταπέτασμα σκηνὴ ἡ λεγομένη ἅγια ἁγίων, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron's rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant; Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; (kjv) Heb 9:4 die hatte das goldene Räuchfaß und die Lade des Testaments allenthalben mit Gold überzogen, in welcher war der goldene Krug mit dem Himmelsbrot und die Rute Aarons, die gegrünt hatte, und die Tafeln des Testaments; Heb 9:4 χρυσοῦν ἔχουσα θυμιατήριον καὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης περικεκαλυμμένην πάντοθεν χρυσίῳ, ἐν ᾗ στάμνος χρυσῆ ἔχουσα τὸ μάννα καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος ἀαρὼν ἡ βλαστήσασα καὶ αἱ πλάκες τῆς διαθήκης, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:5 and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; but of these things we cannot now speak in detail. Heb 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:6 Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle performing the divine worship, Heb 9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. Heb 9:6 τούτων δὲ οὕτως κατεσκευασμένων, εἰς μὲν τὴν πρώτην σκηνὴν διὰ παντὸς εἰσίασιν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὰς λατρείας ἐπιτελοῦντες, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. Heb 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: (kjv) Heb 9:7 In die andere aber ging nur einmal im Jahr allein der Hohepriester, nicht ohne Blut, das er opferte für seine und des Volkes Versehen. Heb 9:7 εἰς δὲ τὴν δευτέραν ἅπαξ τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ μόνος ὁ ἀρχιερεύς, οὐ χωρὶς αἵματος, ὃ προσφέρει ὑπὲρ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ τῶν τοῦ λαοῦ ἀγνοημάτων, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, Heb 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: (kjv) Heb 9:8 Damit deutete der heilige Geist, daß noch nicht offenbart wäre der Weg zum Heiligen, solange die vordere Hütte stünde, Heb 9:8 τοῦτο δηλοῦντος τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγίου, μήπω πεφανερῶσθαι τὴν τῶν ἁγίων ὁδὸν ἔτι τῆς πρώτης σκηνῆς ἐχούσης στάσιν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:9 which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, Heb 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; (kjv) Heb 9:9 welche ist ein Gleichnis auf die gegenwärtige Zeit, nach welchem Gaben und Opfer geopfert werden, die nicht können vollkommen machen nach dem Gewissen den, der da Gottesdienst tut Heb 9:9 ἥτις παραβολὴ εἰς τὸν καιρὸν τὸν ἐνεστηκότα, καθ᾽ ἣν δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίαι προσφέρονται μὴ δυνάμεναι κατὰ συνείδησιν τελειῶσαι τὸν λατρεύοντα, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:10 since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation. Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (kjv) Heb 9:11 Christus aber ist gekommen, daß er sei ein Hoherpriester der zukünftigen Güter, und ist durch eine größere und vollkommenere Hütte, die nicht mit der Hand gemacht, das ist, die nicht von dieser Schöpfung ist, Heb 9:11 χριστὸς δὲ παραγενόμενος ἀρχιερεὺς τῶν γενομένων ἀγαθῶν διὰ τῆς μείζονος καὶ τελειοτέρας σκηνῆς οὐ χειροποιήτου, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν οὐ ταύτης τῆς κτίσεως, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: (kjv) Heb 9:13 Denn so der Ochsen und der Böcke Blut und die Asche von der Kuh, gesprengt, heiligt die Unreinen zu der leiblichen Reinigkeit, Heb 9:13 εἰ γὰρ τὸ αἷμα τράγων καὶ ταύρων καὶ σποδὸς δαμάλεως ῥαντίζουσα τοὺς κεκοινωμένους ἁγιάζει πρὸς τὴν τῆς σαρκὸς καθαρότητα, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:16 For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. Heb 9:16 ὅπου γὰρ διαθήκη, θάνατον ἀνάγκη φέρεσθαι τοῦ διαθεμένου· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:17 For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives. Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:18 Therefore even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. Heb 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. Heb 9:18 ὅθεν οὐδὲ ἡ πρώτη χωρὶς αἵματος ἐγκεκαίνισται· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:19 For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, Heb 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, (kjv) Heb 9:19 Denn als Mose ausgeredet hatte von allen Geboten nach dem Gesetz zu allem Volk, nahm er Kälber-und Bocksblut mit Wasser und Scharlachwolle und Isop und besprengte das Buch und alles Volk Heb 9:19 λαληθείσης γὰρ πάσης ἐντολῆς κατὰ τὸν νόμον ὑπὸ μωϊσέως παντὶ τῶ λαῶ, λαβὼν τὸ αἷμα τῶν μόσχων [καὶ τῶν τράγων] μετὰ ὕδατος καὶ ἐρίου κοκκίνου καὶ ὑσσώπου αὐτό τε τὸ βιβλίον καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν ἐράντισεν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:20 saying, "THIS IS THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WHICH GOD COMMANDED YOU." Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Heb 9:20 λέγων, τοῦτο τὸ αἷμα τῆς διαθήκης ἧς ἐνετείλατο πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὁ θεός· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:21 And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood. Heb 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:23 Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:24 For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (kjv) Heb 9:24 Denn Christus ist nicht eingegangen in das Heilige, so mit Händen gemacht ist (welches ist ein Gegenbild des wahrhaftigen), sondern in den Himmel selbst, nun zu erscheinen vor dem Angesicht Gottes für uns; Heb 9:24 οὐ γὰρ εἰς χειροποίητα εἰσῆλθεν ἅγια χριστός, ἀντίτυπα τῶν ἀληθινῶν, ἀλλ᾽ εἰς αὐτὸν τὸν οὐρανόν, νῦν ἐμφανισθῆναι τῶ προσώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:25 nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own. Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; (kjv) Heb 9:25 auch nicht, daß er sich oftmals opfere, gleichwie der Hohepriester geht alle Jahre in das Heilige mit fremden Blut; Heb 9:25 οὐδ᾽ ἵνα πολλάκις προσφέρῃ ἑαυτόν, ὥσπερ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰσέρχεται εἰς τὰ ἅγια κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτὸν ἐν αἵματι ἀλλοτρίῳ, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:26 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (kjv) Heb 9:27 Und wie den Menschen gesetzt ist, einmal zu sterben, darnach aber das Gericht: Heb 9:27 καὶ καθ᾽ ὅσον ἀπόκειται τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἅπαξ ἀποθανεῖν, μετὰ δὲ τοῦτο κρίσις, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 9:28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.(kjv) Heb 9:28 also ist auch Christus einmal geopfert, wegzunehmen vieler Sünden; zum andernmal wird er ohne Sünde erscheinen denen, die auf ihn warten, zur Seligkeit. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (kjv) Heb 10:1 Denn das Gesetz hat den Schatten von den zukünftigen Gütern, nicht das Wesen der Güter selbst; alle Jahre muß man opfern immer einerlei Opfer, und es kann nicht, die da opfern, vollkommen machen; Heb 10:1 σκιὰν γὰρ ἔχων ὁ νόμος τῶν μελλόντων ἀγαθῶν, οὐκ αὐτὴν τὴν εἰκόνα τῶν πραγμάτων, κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτὸν ταῖς αὐταῖς θυσίαις ἃς προσφέρουσιν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς οὐδέποτε δύναται τοὺς προσερχομένους τελειῶσαι· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (kjv) Heb 10:2 sonst hätte das Opfern aufgehört, wo die, so am Gottesdienst sind, kein Gewissen mehr hätten von den Sünden, wenn sie einmal gereinigt wären; Heb 10:2 ἐπεὶ οὐκ ἂν ἐπαύσαντο προσφερόμεναι, διὰ τὸ μηδεμίαν ἔχειν ἔτι συνείδησιν ἁμαρτιῶν τοὺς λατρεύοντας ἅπαξ κεκαθαρισμένους; ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. Heb 10:3 ἀλλ᾽ ἐν αὐταῖς ἀνάμνησις ἁμαρτιῶν κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτόν, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME; Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (kjv) Heb 10:5 Darum, da er in die Welt kommt, spricht er: "Opfer und Gaben hast du nicht gewollt; den Leib aber hast du mir bereitet. Heb 10:5 διὸ εἰσερχόμενος εἰς τὸν κόσμον λέγει, θυσίαν καὶ προσφορὰν οὐκ ἠθέλησας, σῶμα δὲ κατηρτίσω μοι· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:6 IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:7 "THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.'" Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:8 After saying above, "SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them" (which are offered according to the Law), Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (kjv) Heb 10:8 Nachdem er weiter oben gesagt hatte: "Opfer und Gaben, Brandopfer und Sündopfer hast du nicht gewollt, sie gefallen dir auch nicht" (welche nach dem Gesetz geopfert werden), Heb 10:8 ἀνώτερον λέγων ὅτι θυσίας καὶ προσφορὰς καὶ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας οὐκ ἠθέλησας οὐδὲ εὐδόκησας, αἵτινες κατὰ νόμον προσφέρονται, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:9 then He said, "BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL." He takes away the first in order to establish the second. Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ἀναιρεῖ τὸ πρῶτον ἵνα τὸ δεύτερον στήσῃ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; Heb 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: (kjv) Heb 10:11 Und ein jeglicher Priester ist eingesetzt, daß er täglich Gottesdienst pflege und oftmals einerlei Opfer tue, welche nimmermehr können die Sünden abnehmen. ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (kjv) Heb 10:12 Dieser aber, da er hat ein Opfer für die Sünden geopfert, das ewiglich gilt, sitzt nun zur Rechten Gottes Heb 10:12 οὖτος δὲ μίαν ὑπὲρ ἁμαρτιῶν προσενέγκας θυσίαν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θεοῦ, ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Heb 10:13 τὸ λοιπὸν ἐκδεχόμενος ἕως τεθῶσιν οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτοῦ ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ· ------------------------------------------------------ Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
