Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (kjv) Jas 1:3 und wisset, daß euer Glaube, wenn er rechtschaffen ist, Geduld wirkt. Jas 1:3 γινώσκοντες ὅτι τὸ δοκίμιον ὑμῶν τῆς πίστεως κατεργάζεται ὑπομονήν· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Jas 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (kjv) Jas 1:4 Die Geduld aber soll festbleiben bis ans Ende, auf daß ihr seid vollkommen und ganz und keinen Mangel habet. Jas 1:4 ἡ δὲ ὑπομονὴ ἔργον τέλειον ἐχέτω, ἵνα ἦτε τέλειοι καὶ ὁλόκληροι, ἐν μηδενὶ λειπόμενοι. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (kjv) Jas 1:5 So aber jemand unter euch Weisheit mangelt, der bitte Gott, der da gibt einfältig jedermann und rücket's niemand auf, so wird sie ihm gegeben werden. Jas 1:5 εἰ δέ τις ὑμῶν λείπεται σοφίας, αἰτείτω παρὰ τοῦ διδόντος θεοῦ πᾶσιν ἁπλῶς καὶ μὴ ὀνειδίζοντος, καὶ δοθήσεται αὐτῶ. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (kjv) Jas 1:6 Er bitte aber im Glauben und zweifle nicht; denn wer da zweifelt, der ist wie die Meereswoge, die vom Winde getrieben und gewebt wird. Jas 1:6 αἰτείτω δὲ ἐν πίστει, μηδὲν διακρινόμενος, ὁ γὰρ διακρινόμενος ἔοικεν κλύδωνι θαλάσσης ἀνεμιζομένῳ καὶ ῥιπιζομένῳ· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (kjv) Jas 1:7 Solcher Mensch denke nicht, daß er etwas von dem HERRN empfangen werde. Jas 1:7 μὴ γὰρ οἰέσθω ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος ὅτι λήμψεταί τι παρὰ τοῦ κυρίου, ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (kjv) Jas 1:8 Ein Zweifler ist unbeständig in allen seinen Wegen. Jas 1:8 ἀνὴρ δίψυχος, ἀκατάστατος ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:9 But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; Jas 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: (kjv) Jas 1:9 Ein Bruder aber, der niedrig ist, rühme sich seiner Höhe; Jas 1:9 καυχάσθω δὲ ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὁ ταπεινὸς ἐν τῶ ὕψει αὐτοῦ, ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:10 and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. Jas 1:10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. (kjv) Jas 1:10 und der da reich ist, rühme sich seiner Niedrigkeit, denn wie eine Blume des Grases wird er vergehen. Jas 1:10 ὁ δὲ πλούσιος ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ὡς ἄνθος χόρτου παρελεύσεται. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:11 For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away. Jas 1:11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. (kjv) Jas 1:11 Die Sonne geht auf mit der Hitze, und das Gras verwelkt, und seine Blume fällt ab, und seine schöne Gestalt verdirbt: also wird der Reiche in seinen Wegen verwelken. Jas 1:11 ἀνέτειλεν γὰρ ὁ ἥλιος σὺν τῶ καύσωνι καὶ ἐξήρανεν τὸν χόρτον, καὶ τὸ ἄνθος αὐτοῦ ἐξέπεσεν καὶ ἡ εὐπρέπεια τοῦ προσώπου αὐτοῦ ἀπώλετο· οὕτως καὶ ὁ πλούσιος ἐν ταῖς πορείαις αὐτοῦ μαρανθήσεται. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (kjv) Jas 1:12 Selig ist der Mann, der die Anfechtung erduldet; denn nachdem er bewährt ist, wird er die Krone des Lebens empfangen, welche Gott verheißen hat denen, die ihn liebhaben. Jas 1:12 μακάριος ἀνὴρ ὃς ὑπομένει πειρασμόν, ὅτι δόκιμος γενόμενος λήμψεται τὸν στέφανον τῆς ζωῆς, ὃν ἐπηγγείλατο τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (kjv) Jas 1:13 Niemand sage, wenn er versucht wird, daß er von Gott versucht werde. Denn Gott kann nicht versucht werden zum Bösen, und er selbst versucht niemand. Jas 1:13 μηδεὶς πειραζόμενος λεγέτω ὅτι ἀπὸ θεοῦ πειράζομαι· ὁ γὰρ θεὸς ἀπείραστός ἐστιν κακῶν, πειράζει δὲ αὐτὸς οὐδένα. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (kjv) Jas 1:14 Sondern ein jeglicher wird versucht, wenn er von seiner eigenen Lust gereizt und gelockt wird. Jas 1:14 ἕκαστος δὲ πειράζεται ὑπὸ τῆς ἰδίας ἐπιθυμίας ἐξελκόμενος καὶ δελεαζόμενος· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (kjv) Jas 1:15 Darnach, wenn die Lust empfangen hat, gebiert sie die Sünde; die Sünde aber, wenn sie vollendet ist, gebiert sie den Tod. Jas 1:15 εἶτα ἡ ἐπιθυμία συλλαβοῦσα τίκτει ἁμαρτίαν, ἡ δὲ ἁμαρτία ἀποτελεσθεῖσα ἀποκύει θάνατον. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. (kjv) Jas 1:16 Irret nicht, liebe Brüder. Jas 1:16 μὴ πλανᾶσθε, ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (kjv) Jas 1:17 Alle gute Gabe und alle vollkommene Gabe kommt von obenherab, von dem Vater des Lichts, bei welchem ist keine Veränderung noch Wechsel des Lichtes und der Finsternis. Jas 1:17 πᾶσα δόσις ἀγαθὴ καὶ πᾶν δώρημα τέλειον ἄνωθέν ἐστιν, καταβαῖνον ἀπὸ τοῦ πατρὸς τῶν φώτων, παρ᾽ ᾧ οὐκ ἔνι παραλλαγὴ ἢ τροπῆς ἀποσκίασμα. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:18 In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (kjv) Jas 1:18 Er hat uns gezeugt nach seinem Willen durch das Wort der Wahrheit, auf daß wir wären Erstlinge seiner Kreaturen. Jas 1:18 βουληθεὶς ἀπεκύησεν ἡμᾶς λόγῳ ἀληθείας, εἰς τὸ εἶναι ἡμᾶς ἀπαρχήν τινα τῶν αὐτοῦ κτισμάτων. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; Jas 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: (kjv) Jas 1:19 Darum, liebe Brüder, ein jeglicher Mensch sei schnell, zu hören, langsam aber, zu reden, und langsam zum Zorn. Jas 1:19 ἴστε, ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί. ἔστω δὲ πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ταχὺς εἰς τὸ ἀκοῦσαι, βραδὺς εἰς τὸ λαλῆσαι, βραδὺς εἰς ὀργήν· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Jas 1:20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. (kjv) Jas 1:20 Denn des Menschen Zorn tut nicht, was vor Gott recht ist. Jas 1:20 ὀργὴ γὰρ ἀνδρὸς δικαιοσύνην θεοῦ οὐκ ἐργάζεται. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. (kjv) Jas 1:21 Darum so leget ab alle Unsauberkeit und alle Bosheit und nehmet das Wort an mit Sanftmut, das in euch gepflanzt ist, welches kann eure Seelen selig machen. Jas 1:21 διὸ ἀποθέμενοι πᾶσαν ῥυπαρίαν καὶ περισσείαν κακίας ἐν πραΰτητι δέξασθε τὸν ἔμφυτον λόγον τὸν δυνάμενον σῶσαι τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (kjv) Jas 1:22 Seid aber Täter des Worts und nicht Hörer allein, wodurch ihr euch selbst betrügt. Jas 1:22 γίνεσθε δὲ ποιηταὶ λόγου καὶ μὴ μόνον ἀκροαταὶ παραλογιζόμενοι ἑαυτούς. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (kjv) Jas 1:23 Denn so jemand ist ein Hörer des Worts und nicht ein Täter, der ist gleich einem Mann, der sein leiblich Angesicht im Spiegel beschaut. Jas 1:23 ὅτι εἴ τις ἀκροατὴς λόγου ἐστὶν καὶ οὐ ποιητής, οὖτος ἔοικεν ἀνδρὶ κατανοοῦντι τὸ πρόσωπον τῆς γενέσεως αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐσόπτρῳ· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. (kjv) Jas 1:24 Denn nachdem er sich beschaut hat, geht er davon und vergißt von Stund an, wie er gestaltet war. Jas 1:24 κατενόησεν γὰρ ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀπελήλυθεν καὶ εὐθέως ἐπελάθετο ὁποῖος ἦν. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (kjv) Jas 1:25 Wer aber durchschaut in das vollkommene Gesetz der Freiheit und darin beharrt und ist nicht ein vergeßlicher Hörer, sondern ein Täter, der wird selig sein in seiner Tat. Jas 1:25 ὁ δὲ παρακύψας εἰς νόμον τέλειον τὸν τῆς ἐλευθερίας καὶ παραμείνας, οὐκ ἀκροατὴς ἐπιλησμονῆς γενόμενος ἀλλὰ ποιητὴς ἔργου, οὖτος μακάριος ἐν τῇ ποιήσει αὐτοῦ ἔσται. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless. Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. (kjv) Jas 1:26 So sich jemand unter euch läßt dünken, er diene Gott, und hält seine Zunge nicht im Zaum, sondern täuscht sein Herz, des Gottesdienst ist eitel. Jas 1:26 εἴ τις δοκεῖ θρησκὸς εἶναι, μὴ χαλιναγωγῶν γλῶσσαν αὐτοῦ ἀλλὰ ἀπατῶν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ, τούτου μάταιος ἡ θρησκεία. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.(kjv) Jas 1:27 Ein reiner unbefleckter Gottesdienst vor Gott dem Vater ist der: Die Waisen und Witwen in ihrer Trübsal besuchen und sich von der Welt unbefleckt erhalten. Jas 1:27 θρησκεία καθαρὰ καὶ ἀμίαντος παρὰ τῶ θεῶ καὶ πατρὶ αὕτη ἐστίν, ἐπισκέπτεσθαι ὀρφανοὺς καὶ χήρας ἐν τῇ θλίψει αὐτῶν, ἄσπιλον ἑαυτὸν τηρεῖν ἀπὸ τοῦ κόσμου. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. Jas 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. (kjv) Jas 2:1 Liebe Brüder, haltet nicht dafür, daß der Glaube an Jesum Christum, unsern HERRN der Herrlichkeit, Ansehung der Person leide. Jas 2:1 ἀδελφοί μου, μὴ ἐν προσωπολημψίαις ἔχετε τὴν πίστιν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ τῆς δόξης. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, Jas 2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; (kjv) Jas 2:2 Denn so in eure Versammlung käme ein Mann mit einem goldenen Ringe und mit einem herrlichen Kleide, es käme aber auch ein Armer in einem unsauberen Kleide, Jas 2:2 ἐὰν γὰρ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς συναγωγὴν ὑμῶν ἀνὴρ χρυσοδακτύλιος ἐν ἐσθῆτι λαμπρᾷ, εἰσέλθῃ δὲ καὶ πτωχὸς ἐν ῥυπαρᾷ ἐσθῆτι, ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool," Jas 2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: (kjv) Jas 2:3 und ihr sähet auf den, der das herrliche Kleid trägt, und sprächet zu ihm: Setze du dich her aufs beste! und sprächet zu dem Armen: Stehe du dort! oder setze dich her zu meinen Füßen! Jas 2:3 ἐπιβλέψητε δὲ ἐπὶ τὸν φοροῦντα τὴν ἐσθῆτα τὴν λαμπρὰν καὶ εἴπητε, σὺ κάθου ὧδε καλῶς, καὶ τῶ πτωχῶ εἴπητε, σὺ στῆθι ἐκεῖ ἢ κάθου ὑπὸ τὸ ὑποπόδιόν μου, ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? Jas 2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? (kjv) Jas 2:4 ist's recht, daß ihr solchen Unterschied bei euch selbst macht und richtet nach argen Gedanken? Jas 2:4 οὐ διεκρίθητε ἐν ἑαυτοῖς καὶ ἐγένεσθε κριταὶ διαλογισμῶν πονηρῶν; ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? Jas 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? (kjv) Jas 2:5 Höret zu, meine lieben Brüder! Hat nicht Gott erwählt die Armen auf dieser Welt, die am Glauben reich sind und Erben des Reichs, welches er verheißen hat denen, die ihn liebhaben? Jas 2:5 ἀκούσατε, ἀδελφοί μου ἀγαπητοί. οὐχ ὁ θεὸς ἐξελέξατο τοὺς πτωχοὺς τῶ κόσμῳ πλουσίους ἐν πίστει καὶ κληρονόμους τῆς βασιλείας ἧς ἐπηγγείλατο τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν; ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court? Jas 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? (kjv) Jas 2:6 Ihr aber habt dem Armen Unehre getan. Sind nicht die Reichen die, die Gewalt an euch üben und ziehen euch vor Gericht? Jas 2:6 ὑμεῖς δὲ ἠτιμάσατε τὸν πτωχόν. οὐχ οἱ πλούσιοι καταδυναστεύουσιν ὑμῶν, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἕλκουσιν ὑμᾶς εἰς κριτήρια; ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:7 Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called? Jas 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? (kjv) Jas 2:7 Verlästern sie nicht den guten Namen, nach dem ihr genannt seid? Jas 2:7 οὐκ αὐτοὶ βλασφημοῦσιν τὸ καλὸν ὄνομα τὸ ἐπικληθὲν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς; ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well. Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: (kjv) Jas 2:8 So ihr das königliche Gesetz erfüllet nach der Schrift: "Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst," so tut ihr wohl; Jas 2:8 εἰ μέντοι νόμον τελεῖτε βασιλικὸν κατὰ τὴν γραφήν, ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν, καλῶς ποιεῖτε· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. Jas 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. (kjv) Jas 2:9 so ihr aber die Person ansehet, tut ihr Sünde und werdet überführt vom Gesetz als Übertreter. Jas 2:9 εἰ δὲ προσωπολημπτεῖτε, ἁμαρτίαν ἐργάζεσθε, ἐλεγχόμενοι ὑπὸ τοῦ νόμου ὡς παραβάται. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (kjv) Jas 2:10 Denn so jemand das ganze Gesetz hält und sündigt an einem, der ist's ganz schuldig. Jas 2:10 ὅστις γὰρ ὅλον τὸν νόμον τηρήσῃ, πταίσῃ δὲ ἐν ἑνί, γέγονεν πάντων ἔνοχος. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 2:11 For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. Jas 3:4 ἰδοὺ καὶ τὰ πλοῖα, τηλικαῦτα ὄντα καὶ ὑπὸ ἀνέμων σκληρῶν ἐλαυνόμενα, μετάγεται ὑπὸ ἐλαχίστου πηδαλίου ὅπου ἡ ὁρμὴ τοῦ εὐθύνοντος βούλεται· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 3:5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! Nor can salt water produce fresh. Jas 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. (kjv) Jas 3:12 Kann auch, liebe Brüder, ein Feigenbaum Ölbeeren oder ein Weinstock Feigen tragen? Also kann auch ein Brunnen nicht salziges und süßes Wasser geben. Jas 3:12 μὴ δύναται, ἀδελφοί μου, συκῆ ἐλαίας ποιῆσαι ἢ ἄμπελος σῦκα; οὔτε ἁλυκὸν γλυκὺ ποιῆσαι ὕδωρ. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 3:13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. Jas 3:17 ἡ δὲ ἄνωθεν σοφία πρῶτον μὲν ἁγνή ἐστιν, ἔπειτα εἰρηνική, ἐπιεικής, εὐπειθής, μεστὴ ἐλέους καὶ καρπῶν ἀγαθῶν, ἀδιάκριτος, ἀνυπόκριτος· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 3:18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? Jas 5:2 ὁ πλοῦτος ὑμῶν σέσηπεν καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια ὑμῶν σητόβρωτα γέγονεν, ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:3 Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! Jas 5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. (kjv) Jas 5:3 Euer Gold und Silber ist verrostet, und sein Rost wird euch zum Zeugnis sein und wird euer Fleisch fressen wie ein Feuer. Ihr habt euch Schätze gesammelt in den letzten Tagen. Jas 5:3 ὁ χρυσὸς ὑμῶν καὶ ὁ ἄργυρος κατίωται, καὶ ὁ ἰὸς αὐτῶν εἰς μαρτύριον ὑμῖν ἔσται καὶ φάγεται τὰς σάρκας ὑμῶν ὡς πῦρ· ἐθησαυρίσατε ἐν ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:4 Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. Jas 5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. (kjv) Jas 5:4 Siehe, der Arbeiter Lohn, die euer Land eingeerntet haben, der von euch abgebrochen ist, der schreit, und das Rufen der Ernter ist gekommen vor die Ohren des HERRN Zebaoth. Jas 5:4 ἰδοὺ ὁ μισθὸς τῶν ἐργατῶν τῶν ἀμησάντων τὰς χώρας ὑμῶν ὁ ἀπεστερημένος ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν κράζει, καὶ αἱ βοαὶ τῶν θερισάντων εἰς τὰ ὦτα κυρίου σαβαὼθ εἰσεληλύθασιν. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:5 You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. Jas 5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. (kjv) Jas 5:5 Ihr habt wohlgelebt auf Erden und eure Wollust gehabt und eure Herzen geweidet am Schlachttag. Jas 5:5 ἐτρυφήσατε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐσπαταλήσατε, ἐθρέψατε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ σφαγῆς. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:6 You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. Jas 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Siehe, ein Ackermann wartet auf die köstliche Frucht der Erde und ist geduldig darüber, bis er empfange den Frühregen und den Spätregen. Jas 5:7 μακροθυμήσατε οὗν, ἀδελφοί, ἕως τῆς παρουσίας τοῦ κυρίου. ἰδοὺ ὁ γεωργὸς ἐκδέχεται τὸν τίμιον καρπὸν τῆς γῆς, μακροθυμῶν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶ ἕως λάβῃ πρόϊμον καὶ ὄψιμον. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. Jas 5:9 μὴ στενάζετε, ἀδελφοί, κατ᾽ ἀλλήλων, ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε· ἰδοὺ ὁ κριτὴς πρὸ τῶν θυρῶν ἕστηκεν. ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:10 As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Jas 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. Jas 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Jas 5:14 ἀσθενεῖ τις ἐν ὑμῖν; προσκαλεσάσθω τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τῆς ἐκκλησίας, καὶ προσευξάσθωσαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἀλείψαντες [αὐτὸν] ἐλαίῳ ἐν τῶ ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Jas 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. Jas 5:17 ἠλίας ἄνθρωπος ἦν ὁμοιοπαθὴς ἡμῖν, καὶ προσευχῇ προσηύξατο τοῦ μὴ βρέξαι, καὶ οὐκ ἔβρεξεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐνιαυτοὺς τρεῖς καὶ μῆνας ἕξ· ------------------------------------------------------ Jas 5:18 Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
