Did you hear about the law they passed in France? It's illegal to sell a car older than 5 years old!!!! Can't remember where I read it... Not sure if I have it right, but the article said it was really upsetting a lot of people. Of course in France most of the cars are small and cheap... remember "le car"? Lots of Simcas, Renaults, Peugots and other french cars... But there are Jeeps and other decent vehicles over there too... Not sure what they're trying to prove with a law like that.... john At 09:34 PM 12/23/01 -0500, fsj-digest wrote: >Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2001 16:42:12 -0500 >From: mpolkkidodge-at-netscape.net >Subject: fsj: Senate Bill 1776- Pay to Crush Older Vehicles >Another scrappage program has been proposed by congress. What's nicer about this over my J10 is that I can carry passengers. :) This tranny is definitely a truck transmission, doesn't shift quickly at all. :) my son has already decided he wants it... I think he's going to sell his '67 Fairlane and his '67 J3000. That'll leave him with the '68 Montego with a 429 in it... and this Cherokee... He can have it soon as my J10 is ready... hopefully by Feb or Mar. So far my wife hasn't spotted the '77 Cherokee yet... I try to distract her when we drive in... "hey, look isn't that Mount Rainier over there through those trees... what peak is that... want me to drop you off at the front door?" :) Then I back into the driveway so she can't see it setting next to the carport (the one that is washed out underneath... :( Have a great Christmas, and remember that it's about Jesus... :) ttyl, john - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Dec 2001 20:31:02 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: merry christmas... Hope all of you are having a great Christmas with family and friends... Have enjoyed being on the list with you this last year. Gave my wife the keys to her Jeep this afternoon... :) haven't seen her since... (just kidding... ;) It worked out nicely, I had to go south, she had to go west... stores closed early tonight... It'll be nice that she'll be able to get out of the house. She was getting cabin fever, I'd come home and she'd want to go somewhere. :) My son has decided he wants my '77 Cherokee. So as soon as my J10 is done he'll buy it. One good thing is he's decided to sell both his '67 Fairlane and his '67 J3000. We'll probably be putting them up on ebay in the next couple of days. The '77 Cherokee will be a much better vehicle for him. If you're interested in either let me know. The '77 Chero needs a few things, muffler is on the top of the list... ;) It starts up, goes, and stops, real important features... :) Anything beyond that represents a project I'm unable to deal with right now. :) The '99 WJ needs to be serviced, need to deal with the flood damage here first and then do some maintenance on the wife's Jeep so it's perfect. Thankfully the weather has been beautiful here, the mountains are fantastic! Snow covered, starry nights, crisp... sunshine during the day... later, john - ---------------------------------------------------- john-at-wagoneers.com http://www.wagoneers.com Snohomish, WA, where Jeeps don't rust, they mold...
