This 4.7L motor is sweet, solid and winds up faster than a timex. It'll hit 5 grand before you can blink... :) My passengers often comment about the fact that it spun up to 5k... oh, I say, I had just goosed it to get into traffic, never really paid attention, it's so smooth and quiet... getting between 13 and 16 mpg in town, with the Amsoil synthetic oil my freeway mileage is 19.6 mpg or so, before it was only 18.3. I saw the same gains with Old Blue, he was getting around 11mpg, I switched to Amsoil and it went up to almost 13mpg... 12.8 or something like that... Just waiting on my friend to get his house together. I know he's going to do a better job than I am. I've seen his work. He has the patience to exercise the skills. I can't focus long enough on one thing to do that good of a job. :) While waiting for someone else isn't easy, it's worth the wait. I still have that '75 J10 that I was going to turn into a trailer... but I have two trailers... and I'm thinking that it's too nice to hack up, so I may start looking for a 6.5L Turbo Diesel driveline... :) Of course I don't know why... it's an obsession... I guess I'll build it and my son will buy it from me... Seems like everything I buy he wants. :) Works out good because then I can still look at the rigs I like. :) I get to see the '77 Cherokee every day and thankful that I'm not feeding it. :) If I only had a large building to keep my projects in... and had an income coming in from say a lottery winning or something like that... ;) john At 10:11 PM 2/26/02 -0600, JeepNut wrote: >I can't wait for the reports on SuperDawg. I have not submitted this to Michael S., or whoever is taking care of the Invasion site. But I will soon: SuperKen, Michel B., Phil S. and I are meeting in Reno on Tue. morning, Aug. 13. Our plan is Salt Lake City by sundown where we'll hopefully meet the NW FSJ group. We don't have motel reservations in SLC yet, but we're thinking the Sleep Inn in S. Jordan right off of I- 15. We leave SLC the morning of the 14th. Nelson Davis will join the convoy in Provo. Anyone who comes-up I-15 from Las Vegas is welcome to meet us in Green River, UT. Probably early afternoon. Then on to Grand Junction and finally Ouray. All 4 of us starting in Reno have reservations from the 14-17 at the Box Canyon Inn. John Meister has reservations at the Best Western. He is the only one staying there that I am aware of so far. Anyone planning on going from Central-Northern Calif., S. Oregon or anyone else from N. Nevada wants to join us email me. And anyone leading a convoy who can join us anywhere along our route, email me too. Our route is I-80 Reno to Salt Lake City, I-15 south to Spanish Fork, US Hwy 6 via Price to I-70 a few miles West of Green River, UT. to Grand Junction, Hwy. 50 and finally Hwy 550 to Ouray. ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1578 **************************
