The cat is fine, the screen, is clean, it's not clogged, but it's a fine mesh screen, which I don't would breath well, but I could see the other side.. I took it off anyway, and put on the straight pipe. The tapping , I am wondering if it was hitting the bottom of the plug? It is a RV cam.. which means the lobes are higher? Thus... the strokes are longer, then I would be using a shorter plug? They did not give me the specs on the RV cam.. So I have no clue.. It is running fine and some what some what smooth, except the tapping sound on the number one cylinder.. I have not yet , gotten a magnet , and looked for metal fragments.. Tuesday.. I will have a better idea, and talk to General Machine, and ask about the warranty, if there is one, seeing I just spent $1500.00 bucks.. on the long block, picked up and then brought back to my house.. True,.. it's two months away until Ouray.. But my Girlfriend raised a issued, which sort of makes sense, It would run hard and long in order to get to Ouray, ( within 3 days, 1000, miles ) plus it is my work Truck I depend on, to haul my Lawn stuff.. I an not afford to have it break down out there or have a accident away, 1500 miles from home.. I wonder if it was a good idea to get that RV cam after all, or was it a hasty judgment call? With my luck,.. why risk it away from home? Face it.. I am just cursed! I am very depressed.. I think it' time to pop another Zoloft! R.J. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet, I'd take a long through the spark plug hole to see if you can see chunks. According to my calendar Ouray is 2 months off, leaves lots of time to figure this out. Worse case, you pull the oil pan, crank, and #1 piston from the bottom. I would look at replacing the muffler as well since all the chunks from the cat must of gone somewhere. - -- Terry L. Out of all the folks I've seen on the internet and in real life you're the only one that's had this problem with plugs/pistons... truly bizare... do you put those washers on 'em when you put 'em in? hope it works out ok... john At 09:36 PM 5/25/2002 -0700, Jim B wrote: >A: You had another plug mushed? There's a 2-conductor connector with orange and brown wires. Orange is output from the panel dimmer switch. Brown is switched power coming from the fuse block. Two sets of 3 wires from the radio (4 to the speakers) are the speakers. On the radio side, you should have two sets -- (a) Light Brown, Light Green, and Black and (b) Black with Trace, Brown, and Dark Blue. On the speaker side, it should be (a) Black with Trace, Light Brown, Light Green, and Black and (b) Black with Trace, Brown, Dark Blue, and Black. On the speaker side the Black and Black with Trace in the two sets are connected together, so there are 3 wires coming from the radio in each of 2 sets and 4 wires going to the speakers in each of 2 sets. Black with Trace is common on the right side. Black is common on the left side. Light Brown is the left door speaker, Light Green is the right door speaker, Brown is the left rear speaker, and Dark Blue is the right rear speaker. That said, there are more wires coming from the radio which don't appear in that section of the wiring diagram. There's a black wire running with the orange and brown, there's a red and blue pair, and there's a single white wire. In another nearby section, it shows a black wire as ground, a white wire as "lights on" (to cause the display to then dim, I presume).
