I think there should be a "worst looking FSJ award" or something like it. Mine is sure to take the cake. My chrome is flaking but I just put a coat of rust converter on all the surface rust. The chrome strip is off the top of the windshield rubber (how the heck do you get that thing back on?) Never mind that you can see through the rear quarterpanels to the road. And I use a wrench to crank the rear window up and down. But I'll have a nice rebuilt powerplant soon and it's all downhill from there! Just waiting for the cam and lifter kit from Edelbrock to come in.......on backorder from Summit. - --Vince '81 Waggie '99 TJ - ----- Original Message ----- From: "john" To: "Paul and Megan Kershner" ; "fsj" Sent: Sunday, June 02, 2002 9:22 PM Subject: fsj: Re: Rack done, Sunroof in! > At 06:56 PM 6/2/2002 -0700, Paul and Megan Kershner wrote: > >Today, I installed a 17 x 32 NewPort sunroof in the GW. Cheapest place for a really good rebuilt I've been able to find was citymotorsupply.com - I paid about $1,100 (with shipping) for a rebuilt long block 360. Engine has new pushrods, cam, rocker arms, etc. and looks real nice. Getting the core engine sent back cost me as much as the core is worth and it was a big hassel so I don't recommend sending it back. They are located in the Dallas Ft Worth area. - --Vince '81 Wagoneer - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Hughes" To: Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2002 12:47 PM Subject: fsj: How to turn a broken ex. man. bolt into an excuse to rebuild 360... > To make a long story short I made an attempt to recover a broken exhaust > manifold bolt and broke two others in the process. The default sony drivers are out of date! Someone on the FSJ list did some research on M$.com and pointed me in the right direction, also the pc-virus scanning s/w was an issue. So, I'm searching for new drivers, may also dismantle the laptop and disconnect the silly sony memory stick... don't need it, don't want it, and it had the older driver too... need drivers that are 5.1.2600 or higher... I can't believe they'd release an operating system like this... I'd be willing to pay up to $20 or so for a fast local dialup so I could upload my pictures to my service without incurring long distance charges. I'll also bring my company laptop, uunet or compuserve account, so the way it is now I'll have two means of connection, one that might work from anywhere a cell phone works. :) >Let me know what the URL is so I can let the CFSJA people know where to look >for pics and stories. wagoneers.com of course...
