I'm thinking of a suspension lift next. I'd like to talk to some of the folks who have done this and to view some other rigs for ideas. - --Vince - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Polkki" To: Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2002 8:23 PM Subject: Re: fsj: Re: Problem Found > I'll tell u one thing from all of this Im going to put a tach in my > truck soon and maybe would have done the same thing in the future so I > want to thank you for keeping us informed on all of this. > > and don't worry By the way it sounds the guys in Ouray had so much fun > that it's not going to be another 40 years to have another FSJ meeting! > > Mike > > vorr-at-attbi.com wrote: > > >Great idea! When on the highway, running about 75mph, I'm taching out at approximately 3000-3200 RPM. I really don't like running the engine that hard so I generally hold it around 65 mph on the highway which is about 2600 on the tach and seems like a good speed for travel. I've thought of changing the gearing to bring the RPM's down at highway speed but I really like the low range torque I have now in 4HI and I don't want to give that up. 4LO is really powerful too but I don't have much reason to shift there. Tested it last week in prep for Ouray seemed to work fine but my NP219 is totally locked in 4LO and 4HI lock. Regular 4HI is regular full time 4WD (no hub lockouts) but it has a viscous coupler built in to divide power between axles, which is the 1981 version of Quadratrac. It runs in this mode most of the time around here. - --Vince '81 Wagoneer - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Polkki" To: Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2002 8:23 PM Subject: Re: fsj: Re: Problem Found > I'll tell u one thing from all of this Im going to put a tach in my > truck soon and maybe would have done the same thing in the future so I > want to thank you for keeping us informed on all of this. > > and don't worry By the way it sounds the guys in Ouray had so much fun > that it's not going to be another 40 years to have another FSJ meeting! > > Mike > > vorr-at-attbi.com wrote: > > >Great idea! Also trying to sort out the picnic data as well. :) Tired, heading out in the morning, next stop Salt Lake City until Wed. later, john meister ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** john-at-wagoneers.com via PINE on Linux ** (plain text please!) ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. ...and remember, leaving life without Jesus just isn't recommended... - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Aug 2002 22:14:04 -0600 From: "Stephen D.
