Thompson" Subject: fsj: studded tires for FSJs As winter approaches here in the mountains, my thoughts turn to winter road driving tires. My 83 Cherokee has Wildcats on 15 inch chrome rims. I am likely to obtain some stock 87 rims mounted also at this time with Wildcats. I was thinking of using those rims for studded tires. Anyone have some suggestions? I checked the site and archives and did not locate a discussion. That '78 cherokee on ebay didn't sell and now it is relisted with a $14,000 minimum bid. Given that a comparable new vehicle would cost at least twice that this seems like a killer deal. Especially since you'd be tooling around in a nice vintage FSJ. The only drawback is that it is lacking all of the creature comforts that we have come to enjoy, but still... This FSJ is exactly what I would want if I were to do something like this...I just wish they had 4 door widetracks. What do you guys think of actually driving this thing around in MN...including the winters??? I would have to get it completely undercoated... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1864963502 This is tempting... Greg FSJ-less in MN used to have a '79 wag...the ghost .
