The pictures should describe it. To make the bushing simply use the OD of the torque converter nipple and the ID of the crank shaft. It's about .125" in thickness. First the system has to be evacuated of the old freon, that's usually not a problem. The three I've done before had none in it, either I had to replace a line or it had just gone away... Anyway, first thing you do is add the R134 oil, the kind that is compatible with the old r12 oil. Then add the 2 or 3lbs of the r134. I've done 2 mercedes and another car this way... no problems. I think the trick is to get the r134 oil that is compatible, I got my kit at schucks... but I've seen it in other places. john At 02:07 AM 11/2/2002 +0000, fsj-digest wrote: >Date: Fri, 1 Nov 2002 10:25:30 -0500 >From: "Frazier Phillips" >Subject: fsj: Air Conditioning Conversion > >I have looked for a thread on converting R12 to R134. Got it home and cut the frame so far... mounted an extra trans mount in place and will use that with the tongue setup. http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/J10-trailer/fsj-trailer-1.jpg (hey Jim, guess I need to clean it, it's GREEN right now!!! ;) http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/J10-trailer/ Need to find a trailer axle that will fit, have electric brakes and 6 lugs. Otherwise I may use the Model 20 rear end out of SuperDawg... (SuperDawg, my '83 J10 Stepside is getting the Dana 44 (4.09 gears) out of this '75 J10.) Only need to weld up the tongue, wire up the lights and mount the license plate... voila... FULL SIZE JEEP TRAILER. :) (it really helped that the cab was removed a long time ago... ;) This thing sure looked cool behind that F350... :) Lots of pine needles, pine cones and who knows what else blew off going down the highway. :) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Nov 2002 22:01:47 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: RE: another idea... amazing... :) I finally called on that M715 that Alan had... turns out he was delivering it to CO this weekend. :) We'll be driving to Rapid City, SD for Thanksgiving. Thompson" Subject: fsj: 83 Cherokee seat bolt sizes As I have posted, I am raiding a decent looking 87 Waggie with a blown motor to install nicer interior parts and some other miscellaneous on my 83 stripped down Cherokee. I got the nice leather seats in place and have my wiring for the power figured out. However, the seats are now held down only by one bolt on the outside front of each seat. That one stuck up from the floor with a nut. The bolts that fit in the 87 waggie do not fit the holes in the bolt pattern for the Cherokee. The 87 Waggie had bolts with a nut in the middle and two different threads. These do not fit the holes in the Cherokee. Anyone have an idea as to what bolt size I need to buy or can suggest a way I can find out? Thanks, Steve 83 Cherokee 4 speed manual 87 Grand Waggie Parts donor - -- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1784 **************************
