I need headlight rings anyways) My turn signals are separate from the grill, but in my '84 they are attached to the grill. I need to find the whole truck (when I have cash to buy it) so I can do the swap. I need to sell the '76 Dodge Tioga motorhome first so I can do that. From: "Matthew Dehait" Subject: fsj: Rhino Chaser Grille Hi: I found one on a J-3000 today. You know that would look cool on the Wagoneer. BUT, I guess the question is can it be made to fit with a reasonable amount of work. I've seen an article on fitting an early 70's grille onto a newer truck, but I don't have anything on that one. Anybody have a link or personal experience? Thanks, Matt ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Feb 2004 21:18:44 -0800 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: Re: fsj: Need some Grand Waggy Axle Shafts A: Sounds like "what you should do is" (my wife loves that term!) get some J1000 or J2000 or even light duty J4000 Dana 44 rear axle shafts (they even come with Dana 60 semi float. The off set can be fixed by making the driver's side shorter to match the Wag!) That will give you 5 on 5.5 pattern, drums and brakes to match! (sold mine with the '79 Cherokee Widetrac I sold on Ebay) From: Jason Woodward Subject: Re: fsj: Need some Grand Waggy Axle Shafts A: The front or rear? - - --> Rear. What happened to your shafts? - - -->Nothing. Want an extra set for the type of wheeling I do. (Big rocks, low gears) If they are still in one piece (or at least still measurable) you can get new, stronger ones made up for -at-$300 the pair by Moser. (I already looked into it) - - --> So have I. They're actually $395 a pair. And I have to have my lug pattern re-drilled to 5 on 5.5 to match my front, (chevy flat-top knuckles for a YJ SOA hi-steer set-up). I was looking for an extra set b/c Moser will charge me $70 for a plug and re-drill vs. the $395 for new shafts, (which are actually only 30% stronger.) Thanks for the help. I guess I be junkyarding it this weekend. . . :D ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2004 20:05:24 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: ot: road warrior "on ramps'? It looks like I'm going to be doing the road warrior gig through April... flying down to Tucson on Sunday to teach three days of Solaris, week and a half later back down to Oregon for 2 days of Solaris, then the end of March in MO for a day of HP-UX and Solaris and three days of Linux... then maybe three weeks in PA... I think Denver and Red Hat are part of the mix too... If I could line 'em all up at once I could just drive to 'em all, but it never works that nicely. :) (BTW, my '91 300d got 37.8mpg on the trip home from the last Linux class in Oregon!!!) anyway... my question is this... what's a suitable and inexpensive dialup service that I can access in places like Sierra Vista, AZ, Mount Poconno, PA, Denver, CO, and Jefferson City, MO??? At least in Oregon the hotel had high speed internet access in the room... I've got a netzero dialup but all the crap that came through in ads and popups isn't worth the "free" part. Any thoughts on using Earthlink? I had a trial account when I was back in PA a couple years ago and it was ok... The other option is to use my cell phone (14.4k connect) and pay my existing isp for dialup access... :( thanx, john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #2107 **************************
