(I have the header panel for $10 and 2 buildable '91 4.0L bottom ends for $25 each) We just sold our house (closing on the 19th) and will be moving. Until I can afford to buy the lots next to us, I won't have room for any vehicles. Bucky van, aka '91 E350 cube with 460 power, is going into storage till the White Knucle meet, then it's going up for sale. Black Jack is getting the drivetrain put in, then towed to the new place till I can do the driveshafts. White Spot is getting a flat deck, J20 front axle to match the rear and AMC 727/Dodge NP208 (as soon as I find one) swap and going up for sale as soon as I use it move to the new place and tow my (or should I say my 3 sons's) extra cars away. (the TH400 and part time QT with O/D are up for sale, but I consider both essentially working cores) PS: John, if the rings in #6 are bad, the motor will have MEGA blowby! No blowby means a pushrod is probably not working. (bent rod/broken rocker/flattened cam lobe) or a VERY big hole in the piston. From: john Subject: Re: xj: 94 xj sport-----$500.00 anyone interested in putting this back together I have a '96 4.0L for sale... also selling my '92 sport with a bad #6 set of rings... runs, but not that great... but it's a super clean/straight jeep... if I didn't already have two xj's in the drive here I'd be heading down to kirkland with my tow bar right now... ;) john ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Aug 2005 07:22:22 -0700 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: Moving We just sold our house (closing on Sept 19th) and we will be moving. It'll be needed to get in and out of our new place in Index, WA this winter. Wife's '01 Legacy will go up for sale (after it comes back from the body shop to fix it's conflict with a Mercedes SUV from tuesday) because it won't last long on the road to and from the new place (driveway is 6 miles long from the main road and close to a class 1 trail in summertime!) As far as a turbo on a gas engine, wouldn't suggest it... they don't hold up as well as on a Diesel. john On Mon, 29 Aug 2005 XJGPN-at-aol.com wrote: >-->I also have an F-body, and the STS turbo setups for them are really popular >-->since the engine bay turbo systems are so expensive due to the tight confines >-->around the F-body engine. I'm not sure where I put the remains of the column... if you're not in a hurry I can look... of course each column is a bit different... check with the parts dept at your jeep dealer, expect the kit to be around $100 to $150 if memory serves me correctly, hopefully less... if the XJ tilt and the SJ tilt columns are the same and I can find the part... :) john On Mon, 29 Aug 2005, Brian Tegtmeier (Mec) wrote: >-->I went to startup my 86 jeep gw last Monday and I felt something break >-->when I turned the key. I'm not going to spend the time to setup a dual tank/heater for it... Not sure what the future holds for the mule... he's got SuperDawg's winter shoes on and his original seats... I may still pull the engine/trans/xfr case and fuel system and sell the hulk... of course it's apparent that this engine may not be in peak operating condition... guess it's tired... So I'm going to switch back to Shadowfax and his 30mpg until SuperDawg is done. Once the dawg is on the road it won't matter if he gets 15 or 20 mpg because he's got dual tanks and I can start on Diesel and run on veggie oil. Glad I bought another 55 gallon barrel this weekend... Curtis is making good progress on the J10. If he can get the paint on in the next week or two it'll be together in a month and I can start working on the fuel heater setup... :) Going to run down to Centralia over the long weekend to bring down the fuel selector valve, tank parts, temp guage and other SMALL items needed... and thinking about bringing down 55 gallons of veggied oil, well, maybe only 25 gallons for the aux tank... ;) rofl... I've got to spend some quality time at Graingers... fuel heaters, pumps, and so on... 160 degrees... :) Oh yeah, in other news, my son has decided to get the '86 Cherokee with the 2.5L. I need to get the radiator cleaned, or replace it... anyone have a good '86 2.5L radiator? Not sure what I'm going to do with the '92 Cherokee with the bad hole in #6... I do have a spare engine, but no spare time... I start teaching again this quarter... john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Aug 2005 07:23:25 -0700 From: "Jim Blair" Subject: fsj: Re: identification of part That part is available in most autoparts stores "Help!" section (or at least it used to.
