I'm thinking more in the footwell area... it seems tighter on the floor to me... the door and center console seemed close, closer than on my 124 mercedes... in my GW I have to reach for either... :) so in '97 did they make the DS area smaller??? this is a very, very good conversation... this is what I need to be reminded of before I spend a bunch of money and start this popcorn episdode all over again... the head issue and the redesign of the interior... not to mention the ride didn't feel right on a few of them either... I've had 10 xjs, all pre-97... the '98 Limited wouldn't have the head issue then I guess, it was almost half what the '01 was selling for, but had a lot of other issues, had a black paint job, but a tan interior. I can live with the darker color to have the lighter inside... again, thanx all for the comments... it's looking like I may stick with my Grand Wagoneer(s). (mercifully). So, next week the '89 GW with the bad engine will be retrieved... not sure when my hopefully good '91 is coming, still nothing out of the centralia blackhole (anyone driving by on I-5 with a Jeep be careful, warning signs should be posted soon... ;) after much useful and helpful advice, and detailed pictures from the folks with the 2001 XJ... I've decided to give up on the idea of an XJ, or another WJ since that idea got vetoed faster than the fries hit the oil at wendys... speaking of oil, looks like at least one of my friends has perfected the biodiesel process and that will save me some trouble on omega, no need for a fuel heater if I run biodiesel... lot less trouble... just regular dual tanks! I do a good job of finding the oil, but I would do a terrible job of making biodiesel... I have actually burned chicken noodle soup before... my wife will NOT let me in the kitchen or anywhere near vegetable oil and an open flame... :) so, the plan remains the same, only the popcorn changed... (will send the name if you'd like of the current brand I'm using... ;) so, full speed ahead with Omega, the '91 Grand Wagoneer... Shadowfax remains until Omega is fully up on his feet and proven... no XJs in my future, other than my daughter's, and no WJs for me, except for my wife's. The '89 GW that's coming home will get the engine repaired or replaced, fixed up cleaned up and put up for adoption... waiting is not something I do well it seems, especially when I have an internet connection... but it is entertaining. :) (btw, my neighbor still has that '74 Maverick ... cheap...) so, the end result will be one '99 WJ, one '91 GW and either the J10 trailer or J10 stepside... the benz be gone when and if the 6.2 works out... that is all. john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2007 21:13:05 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: anyone near centralia, washington? haven't heard from my buddy down there for a bit, answering machine is full... no reply to email... if anyone on the list is near or passing centralia it would be great if someone could drop in and see if everything is ok... email me off list and I'll get directions and address to you... :) thanx, john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2007 22:07:42 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: free magazines... cleaning out my office... have piles of auto magazines, four wheeler, off road, some car & driver, road & track... redoing the floor, need to get these things out of here... shipping would be very expensive... good magazines, any one local interested??? they're going to be moved out to the carport... when the rains resume the humidity will destroy them... :( john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2007 07:33:56 -0400 From: "Neal Hoover" Subject: fsj: wanted: j-truck bed lamp housing anyone have one of these they want to part with? the one i have has the finish about completely gone and i'm looking for one with a "cleanable" chome finish still in-tact. thanks!
