IT WILL CREATE FRONT END PROBLEMS. That alone pushes me towards the Mercedes 5 cylinder over the 4BT. I can use the benz trans, make a custom adapter and rig up a divorced (in theory) transfer case... basically I'll have a shaft created to go into the xfr case that bolts to the plate at the back of the trans, then I'll build brackets to secure the trans to the xfr case... that'll be the hard part, making sure it doesn't twist the bracketry or crack the cases of either... :) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Wed, 5 Sep 2007, Jim Hoffman wrote: # Okay, # # From my research the 4BT is somewhere around 120hp # with 300ft lbs of torque and weighs in at 700lbs. # Compare that with 125hp with 170ft lbs of torque for # the 3.0 Merc.
