But, I prefer other electronics countermeasures... :) one idea is to have a bank of switches on the dash... use a binary code to latch the correct combination in... wrong code sets off the horn/lights/disables ignition, etc. :) critical stuff is routed through the right combination of switches... things that would prevent under the hood hotwiring... custom wiring and routing would also help... anything that throughs these dirt bags off the trail is the plan... and of course, there are other ideas, like: removing the driveshafts and ignition coil are also good deterents... :) hey, maybe if we flatten all four tires and then refill them before driving off? :) I won't share any of my other ideas... :) ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Tue, 8 Jan 2008, Jim Blair wrote: # http://simjack.com:8185/cargard.htm # The only thing that makes anything with a GM ignition column harder to steal! # # # From: john # Subject: Re: xj: Missing 90 Cherokee, Black, pls help! # # while not revealing HOW TO steal an XJ (at least not on list...) # what would be splendid is information on how NOT to have one # stolen... # # my '91 Grand Wagoneer was stolen out of the PO's garage, a locked # garage... with a club attached to the wheel!!!! the thieves cut # the steering wheel to remove the club... # # john # _________________________________________________________________ # Watch ^SCause Effect,^T a show about real people making a real difference. # http://im.live.com/Messenger/IM/MTV/?source=text_watchcause # ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jan 2008 15:52:19 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: Re: xj: RE: [db] heating fuel for Omega I think this is what my engineering buddy with the '56 willys panel was trying to tell me. ;) I think I forwarded the catalog link he sent me... it's a neat looking little unit with four fittings... two for coolant to run into it, and two where the fuel flows through it... kind of like Jason's idea (http://wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/TECH/WVO/heater/) http://www.ejbowman.co.uk/pdf/engine.pdf http://www.ejbowman.co.uk/pdf/hydraulic_oil_coolers.pdf Also see page 265 in: http://www.rdac.com/Pages/catalog/Ecat/Ecat/72.pdf RD-5-11663-0P john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Tue, 8 Jan 2008, Allen Zylstra wrote: # Inboard/outboard boats use large heat exchangers to cool the engine. I have the buckets, chrome rings, halogen bulbs (2 new Sylvania Halogen XtraVision)...plus a rhino grill, too. pics at: http://tinyurl.com/3bqvsx The one bucket has a broken adjustment piece, but I have another...it just needs to be rivoted in. The grill is missing one mounting tab. Talk to me... I just pulled the box containing all this stuff down from the shelf and saw that I also have three carbs in there. These also need to go. I have a Quadrajet, an Edelbrock 4bbl and the std Motorcraft 2bbl. The Quadrajet was working (so I was told...talk to Fred Fitzgearld (aka SuperWrench) about this one), the Edelbrock is in pieces and has a rebuild kit (talk to Brad Seevers about this one). These carbs need to go. If you want them, you can have them. They are located in Mpls, MN. Pay for the shipping and they are yours.
