The original list split in 1997 and has taken on two or three life forms, while this original list has carried on... with just a handful of the original folks. Yesterday one of the original FSJ listers from 1996 visited Snohomish. Mark Wallace was an 18 year old college student getting his Mechanical Engineering degree at Boston University, he worked at Chrysler for a while and some other engineering firms in Detroit. Anyway, he helped me work on Omega Sunday afternoon, still no luck on getting it running... but getting closer... got a few other things fixed... I need to get a starter type battery charger to crank and crank... one should never, ever, run a Diesel completely out of fuel... any Diesel owner knows that... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2008 10:05:10 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: RE: fsj: swapping a 258 for a 360 what, you ain't done yet? sheesh, what is this a competition for the world's longest running projects or what? :) I'll be happy to let you win this one Jim. ;) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 4 Feb 2008, Jim Blair wrote: # I'd do the 4.0L swap myself (cuz I already have mine mostly done!) # # Written laws are like spiders' webs, and will like them only Entangle and hold the poor and weak, while the rich and powerful will easily break through them ANACHARSIS Scythian philosopher (fl. 600 BC) # # > Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2008 09:46:42 -0800 # > From: john-at-wagoneers.com # > To: fsj-at-digest.net # > CC: FSJparts-at-yahoogroups.com # > Subject: fsj: swapping a 258 for a 360 # > # > shouldn't be too hard to switch over... get the motor mounts from # > the 258... get the correct flex plate and torque converter # > # > too bad my son isn't down there any more, he would have liked to have # > talked you out of that 360 for his javelin. ;) # > # > I've got an excellent 258 up here in Washington state for sale... # > # > along with an overheated, but likely good, '96 4.0L. # > # > john # > # > ----- # > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- # > Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold # > http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** # > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- # > there's a solution for every problem; # > problem is can we afford the solution? # > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- # > # > # > On Mon, 4 Feb 2008, FSJparts-at-yahoogroups.com wrote: # > # > # There is 1 message in this issue. # > # # > # Topics in this digest: # > # # > # 1. 1986 Jeep Grand Wagooneer.....360 cu in # > # From: E.
