They forgot the lawnmowers..... and the computers.... they should be taxed for carbon emissions....1ghz, 1.5, 1.8, 2.2..... What about the cows... they are the biggest emitter of ozone depleting gases.... Someone must have lived in France, where even golf club membership, horses, and other items are taxed.... As for Jerry being smoged another time... I would appeal it.... call a referree.... and ask why do you have to waste time to go again within one year. Either the CARB flunked the smog station, usually it happens to the general test station, not the test only as they do not provide adjustment they are less likely to cheat. I guess the jag passed w values that were too good to be real. Our current system of tax is based on engine size here in Ireland, see here for the cost.. prices in euros : https://www.motortax.ie/mtoapp/pdf/motortax_rates_2008_en.pdf BUT if a car is over 30yrs old it is then defined as a classic and incurs just a 50e tax rate no matter what size engine (also cars over 30yrs old do not have to pass the National Car Test).
