My 2.1L TD was a nice little unit, but a bit underpowered and parts were overpriced, but it worked quite well in the Cherokee. The 2.5L TD would be a much nicer setup. I've got the lift pump coming today for my 6.2L Diesel Grand Wagoneer project. Working from home today so as soon as I'm off work I can start wrenching. :) My son is going to chase the parts while I'm working. Even with the GW project I am planning for the next Diesel project, and that will either be a WJ or XJ version with a Mercedes Diesel... long term plans, no parts acquisitions yet... :) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Thu, 20 Mar 2008, Stephen Rigley wrote: # Hi, # # So, I've returned to my '96 XJ sport 2.5TD project (after a 4 month break # due to busy life), I'm looking to get at the camshaft to replace the pushrod # lifter things (technical term there) + the pushrod clips (the pushrods on # cylinder #4 kept popping out). # I'd gotten as far as loosening the head bolts, then discovered that 5 of # them were hidden under the injectors, so they had to come out. I # took my dremel to the 27mm and ground it out until it fit. The injectors # still didn't want to come out, even with a big torque wrench on there.. I # didn't like doing it but "Goliath" (my impact wrench) had to be used to get # them out! From: srigley-at-gmail.com ah, I get ya now, yeah, always a mistake to start a conversation in anything other than French, a bit more leniency on their part might work ;-) Steve RE: Are we talking french canadian here... RE: leave it to the guardians of the language... "the academy" to justify their jobs.... in fact the brits do not have a "language academy", they did not want to copy the french academy, while most europe did to try to make a national language, it started in the late 1500... in 1560ish if i remember, before the businesses were done in Latin. French evolve into french after the 1789 revolution. It was not an homogenous nation.... by the Italian border, the people spoke Italian, even most judicial procedure were conducted in Italian... same for the German border area. The problem was so bad that it took a few more year, around 179x to form a school to form teachers and send them around the country to teach french.... An excellent book written by canadians: the origin of french. someone traveling in the states from a foreign country will be helped, most of the time, if not all of the time... RE: curiosity vs. french narrow-mindedness in france, they don't willingly speak english or german... RE: I guess you have to learn the language.... and be able to have spent time abroad to be able to communicate. After 6 years of english high school...... I was not really able to communicate.... beside yes no.... bread butter... or asking for a pipe to sip my drink (a straw, the counter man... pulled the splash guard pipe off the faucet.... a good joke) my experiences are from the '70's and early '80s... not sure about now. most unfriendly people... I did not travel as a normal tourist, I had my own car and map and would head out and explore, I avoided the tourist traps because I couldn't afford them. :) RE: the 70's was the vietnam war.... And none the less, some left over from the WWII generation that was shun by american administration who supported the elected government that ended to support nazi germany.... and was seeing De Gaulle as another "military dictator". A lot of resentment was built up.... and the french fought the separation of the world into sphere of influences from the US/USSR choices..... This is why history is fantastic... and should be taught from contemporary issues. But school should teach daily history and to explain the roots of many conflicts: extreme politics, trades and religions form the triangle of our world. No offenses taken.... it is good to get our minds exchanging views. this is the way to prevent conflict, either on the domestic or the foreign front.
