Yeh but it is $300 per colander and their 134a is only $119 per
colander. For my money I'll keep retrofitting to the 134a.

thanx for checking... R134 sounds like the only viable route
for those of us using 16 oz cans... :)

we got on the topic of fuel economy...

I pointed out that I went from 18 mpg to 19 then 21 by changing
from dino oil to 20w50 amsoil to 10w40 amsoil... my wj
4.7L v8 is now running 0w30 amsoil... we got over 21.1 mpg going
to spokane... just tanked up while towing the trailer and got
somewhere in the 15 to 16 range just local/stop and go traffic...

Unless the trans for axles take a dunk I wouldn't. the synthetics
are far superior to petroleum based lubes. Once I convert a rig
over I never change the trans/axles again... never had any problems.

the amsoil synthetic atf has been known to cut operating temps as much
as 50 degrees. there was a local tow company that kept eating transmissions,
switched over to amsoil and they haven't had a problem since. one of the
local topsoil companies was blowing out their gear box for one of their
feeders, got in touch with me and used synthetic gear lube and no problems...

in my Mercedes Diesel I changed the oil after 1 year of commuting to
seattle, had 17,000 miles on the oil... had it analyzed, no problems...
so my last oil change I went 30,000 miles, no oil loss in all that time,
my 2.5L Turbo Diesel has over 270,000 miles on it too....

my '99 WJ actually has 152,300 miles on it, just got back from running
some veggie oil up to my buddy 20 miles north of hear and pulled my
J10 trailer... love that 4.7L V8! I'm using the Series 3000 0w30 in
the WJ. Changed it last year before driving back to South Dakota,
not sure how many miles are on it, but it's still clean...

So, if you're concerned about any kind of sludge or anything in your
diff or trans, you can safely double the normal mfr recommendations for
changes... what is it on a trans, 30k?

My '82 AMC Spirit, currently sporting the infamous computerized
BBD that I tweaked once and need to tweak again, gets 22 mpg with
a 258 (4.2L) and will get synthetic oil AFTER I finish the leaky
valve cover (turns out the "Right Stuff" gasket maker doesn't work
too well with only 3 bolts holding the cover down! LOL!)
   That's running a 999 auto (non-lockup I think. That or 3rd and
converter lockup are nearly matched) with 205/75/14 tires. Can't
wait to see how it will do once I get the 2WD AW4 trans and EFI in! I
need to get it fixed up well enough to continue daily driver duty
till my '88 MJ is back on the road and then I can FINALLY get some
serious work done on my full size Jeeps!

Hey, I've got a new 258 type Weber carb I'm going to sell since
I sold my 258s and 4.0s... interested? it was used about
2 weeks... :)

I need an AC compressor, brackets and hoses from an '83 GMC 6.2L Diesel
3/4t, or Jimmy, or suburban... suspect '82 to '92 will probably work. :)
and/or a pair of tan heated leather WJ seats... :) the carb isn't worth
as much as the seats so I'll cough up some cash if you find them. ;)

explanation:

battery setup on the '91 Grand Wagoneer, plan C:
moved the bracket from the driver's side, got a stock tray for under the
hood... just need to clean up from the battery explosion, drill some
holes and run some wire... weather hasn't been cooperating:
will have 1400 CCA for the starter, and another 800 CCA for the lights/glow plugs.
http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2008/03-Mar-30-snow-wvo-omega-abc/Omega-Battery-setup/

drove up to chuck's to drop off a barrel of waste veggie oil and tried
to wash my 5 gallon buckets up at the car wash... picked up my two
30 gallon buckets to make a hillside filtration setup...
http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2008/03-Mar-30-snow-wvo-omega-abc/chucks-wvo-29mar/

then drove up to Mt. Vernon, WA Saturday with the WJ, towing the J10 trailer filled
with buckets for WVO... daffodils were in bloom... saw some snow up by Arlington:

some friends at church celebrate their 32nd year of marriage:

Sunday drove down to Seattle then back up through Everett, crazy weather...
trees are blooming, we've already been cutting the lawn, and got hit with snow...
in places... of course the cows are next door... :)
