Parked the '91 Grand Wagoneer for a bit as I need to fix the fuel gauge to the aux tank, swap out the speedo gear in the xfr case, hoping that my collection of XJ gears will have the correct count. :) Still need to deal with the spring rate issue, too stiff... but, planning on rebuilding the carport next, so will be driving the Benz for a while I guess, at least until I get the odometer and fuel gauge setup... I am happy that this last tank netted 18.82mpg... encouraging... making progress, but getting tired of building my own... (real Jeeps are built, not bought???) - -------------------------------------- GREEN HOUSE GASES? hey, saw a green house gas calculator... it's claiming that the average american is creating 20,750 lbs of carbon dioxide per person per year. That's 56.85 lbs per day... ? looking at some of their extrapolations/calculations I noticed that they 12,100 lbs/vehicle per year, based on 231 miles per week... In this calculator you place your auto mileage... in order to get their stated average one would have to get about 13 mpg (12,253 lbs). The calculator has a number of other limitations and issues; will search for one on line... the premise and data seem somewhat flawed to me. I am extremely skeptical of this data and it's interpretation. We are too eager to accept this as fact without questioning it.
