These are some things that least to a problem.. 1. #7 plug wire mildly burnt(been burned for weeks, but running bad started a few eeks later) 2. I replaced my distributer cap, and forgot one clamp.. 3. I saw spark jumping from top of box type coil (newer ford type) to metal on the bracket.. I fix all these things and the jeep starts running normal again... I drive it for 60+ minutes. I shut it off and hit a bar or two come back and start it up and its running like poo again... Today/tonight I went to a very dark road, i popped my hood. I had a friend rev the engine.. I could see in a few places were spark was seen through the 8mm wires.. ,My coil wire is 8.5 accel for the record.. anyway #5 which ran near the power steering bracket seamed to arc a little on it. The coil wire you could see small parts where the wire would light up. It was running on top of my fuel line /vapor return. and also possibly on a heater hose.. not really a spark jumping but it would be light. like a small section glowing Anyway Is this like not normal? I would assume it shouldnt be... I spent $24 for that 36IN COIL wire and i cant believe it is now bad after a short time.. The coil wire has no chaffing or cuts or anything.. Anyway it seams to idle alright, runs fairly smooth, but misses under load... Is this a definate replace the wires situation?
