I said, sure, we'll play it by ear... ...on the news tonight... they closed I-5 from milepost 68 to 88. He's at milepost 82. :( It'll probably be closed until Sunday. Man, glad I'm not a trucker... I-5 and all the passes are closed... Can't get to Portland, or Spokane... ok, guess it's time to find out why the blower doesn't work on my 300D, do some maintenance on the WJ, replace the starter on the CJ-10A and just get some stuff done around the house... :) no worries about us flooding, we're at 350 feet above sea level, sea level is a mile north of us... am wondering if the Snohomish River will flood again... of course pictures will follow if it does. btw, enjoying our near normal 50 degree weather... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Jan 2009 21:58:21 -0800 From: Jim Blair Subject: RE: fsj: now it's the pineapple express I have confirmation from my neighbor where the cabin is that the road is under water again. I-5 and I-90 are closed, SR 9 is closed... all the major passes are closed... the only way out of Seattle is by way of Canada, or a 2 lane road known as US 2, and Stevens Pass. :) Heading down to the Snohomish River Valley with camera and tripod to take pictures in a bit... they closed off the valley around 4pm today when water went over the levee. we're fine, high and dry, a mile south of the flood and 350 feet up... can easily get to and from work... have power, coffee, food, all the essentials... ;) picked up the starter for my '86 CJ-10A, plan on doing some wrenching on Saturday... blower on my benz isn't working, the blazer and the WJ need some cleaning. things might return to normal starting on Sunday... all we need now is a volcanic eruption and/or an earthquake and that would reduce a lot of paperwork for the federal relief claims... ;) ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jan 2009 19:48:12 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: odd news flashes... imagine seeing a news flash like this: Stevens Pass Reopens The DOT has reopened U.S. 2 through Stevens Pass, providing a solitary link between Western and Eastern Washington.
