In my days it was easy 10, 12, 14, 17...... the Italian sneaked in 9mm on the bicycles, then they have the narrow wrench for the pedals, 15mm.... a bit like cell phone chargers plugs.... I think I may have cut something that was maybe 3/4 of an inch long down to about a half an inch. I also got some copper washers at the parts store and used those to help seal it. If I recall correctly I did it in either late 2000 or early 2001. It really unclutters the engine compartment. I snapped a few pics when I was out there tonight...they are in the dark, but if you want them email me off list and I'll send them. Also if your manifolds are off the Eastwood brush on manifold coating is actually pretty good. I sandblasted mine and painted them...the stuff looks sloppy until you bake it in by running the engine. The New Process T-cases are metric. That threw me through a pretty good loop when I discovered that. I recall that the nuts and studs that hold it to the transmission are proper sizes....remember that that American Flag on the moon was put there with 9/16, and 5/8 and 3/4. We don't need a foreign ruler. Does anybody recall the size of the Torx for the rear door hinge screws. I have a friend helping me tomorrow to bleed the brakes, and I am thinking if there is time we'll put the new door hinges on. (Michel's old hinges). So I think tomorrow might be the day where I pull the Wag off the jack stands and drive it around the block. The hard lines are all in place...I just have to run the rubber hoses, bleed the brakes, tighten everything up and except for the two leaf spring shackle nuts that I appear to have lost I should be ready to go. So the question is do I drive it around the block, clean up under it and then tear some other part of it apart again? Parting '76 Jtruck soon in Seattle Posted by: "Jim Blair" carnuck-at-hotmail.com carnuck Date: Tue Jun 15, 2010 8:50 am ((PDT)) I have a '76 J10 shortbox body with J20 axles that I will be parting soon. I need some parts off the cab for my Honcho, but the rest is available. Box is currently up for sale with the tailgate for $200. I have a running 258 6 cyl (T5 trans died and is gone except the bell and shifter) from the '82 longbox my son wants the box and cab from for his rig. Not sure what else will be left. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail has tools for the New Busy.
