I had my first holiday of sorts this year too! (Since I've been sick all summer) Jerry Horn, his friend Larry (I'm sorry, I forgot his last name), Charlie Johnson and my wife & I went for a little roadtrip today (we headed back today, due to Elmo's gas sock clogging off the fuel line while driving on the second washboard gravel road, and it felt like I had run out of gas) I thought at first it was the Motorcraft box dying (because I left my spare at home) or I was running out of gas (when I refueled later, I had only gone 200 miles since my last fill up and it only took 10 gallons to fill, so it's still getting 20 mpg), so that means I have to pull the sock out. We did have a very nice day anyway. We went up to Sunrise on the north side of Rainer (the fantastic pics will be posted tomorrow on Photopoint, but they won't do the view justice!) and had dinner at a nice restaurant and enjoyed good company. We only went a short ways off-road, because the first trail (#37?) got narrow too quick, and I was driving the only banger, my FSJ (Jerry had his new GM, and Charlie had his Bronco 2) and we had strict zero paint removal guidelines on this trip! If it hadn't been for the gas sock, my wife and I would have had even more trail fun! Oh, well! Tomorrow I go to Canada to pick up my son and drop off some FSJ parts. PS, on the way back, I got to see a whitetail doe (pics too!) with fawn near the summit, and also got to see where some people had been driving in and bagging deer out of season in the State park near the road! (Not so cool!) A: I assume he means all the junk that comes if I forward a letter instead of cutting and pasting a reply. I use a variety of ways to bypass the junk, depending on whether I get digest or real time lists. In digest, I use the find key, and write in the first 4 digits of the time code of the email (like this one is about 01:22:something something) I type in the box for find 01:22 and hit return. It highlights the first incidence of that number set (only Michael has the same time for all his, because he writes replies off line, then comes on to post them all in seconds) and you hold the shift key down, and use the arrow keys to move the highlight up or down til I get what I want (or close, making sure to include the subject line), then hit the cmd and c button together. I then hit reply and hit cmd and v buttons (only once! If it's too big a copy, like a whole digest, the webtv will shut off! More than once will make as many copies as you hit the buttons together) There is a tutorial under "cutting and pasting" in help in mail, but I think I explain it a little better! If you use cmd and a buttons, you will highlight whatever you are on (you have to be on a blue address in an email to highlight it, not on the left side buttons) then hit reply, and hit cmd and v, and it prints it all (junk included). I use the up and down arrows and shift key to highlight what I want to remove (this only works in reply) and hit any key (after letting up on the shift key) except the arrows or shift, and everything highlighted disappears. Preferable buttons to use are delete {best} or spacebar {but it leaves a space} If you copy something you want to put where the highlight is, simply hit cmd and v and it's replaced {I use this trick to copy and paste the new subject line in where the reply subject line is} Cmd and a together will highlight EVERYTHING in your reply, except subject or Edresses (which can be done seperately) MOST IMPORTANT!: Hitting any key while they are highlighted will delete ALL! Sufficiently confused? Ask if you have any problems (Forward on WEBTV produces all that gibberish you see, because it's html sorta. It's supposed to produce a separator line, but it's incompatible with digest's major-domo program) Sometimes the quick way to do a reply is copy the whole realtime email (hold cmd and press and let up A {all highlighted} then press and let up C), hit reply (subject is automatically setup for you) go to the body of the email, and hold cmd, then hit v. and use find to get a word in the middle of what you want, highlight up or down (hold shift key, and use arrows. If you want to go up and down, you have to let go of the buttons, and scroll the direction you want to copy next, the hit shift and arrows again), then hit cmd and C (you'll hear the snip if the volume is up), hit cmd and A again (to highlight all), and hit cmd V and only what you copied is left. You can copy and paste most webpages too! (It only reads in this size letters though, and no pics!) I used to sit on talkcity room #new2webtv and teach people all sorts of tricks! I didn't make money at it though, and webtv doesn't have an office here for me to work in, so I dropped it (got lots of people hooked on webtv tricks, and we have an email list you can join. I was the one that figured out how to send multiple webpictures in one letter, which webtv told me was impossible! I was offered a job at the help center in Florida, but hurricanes are not my cup of tea! I may see if they'll take me on at the WV office! I can stand tornados! (Might even chase a few more! I've been in the bear's cage and loved it!) Time for sleep now! Have fun, and remember! If you want to get to Carnegie Hall, you must go practice, practice, practice! Buzzin on caffeine and a cool daytrip! G'night!
