My brother owns an AD agency, MAC network all the way, WIN wouldn't do it, period. When I graduated from ETSU, I went to work for the State. We ran a prop. version of Unix on our Unisys (sperry-burrows) 5000-50. You couldn't break that thing if you wanted to (I tried, trust me). I loved it but, MS did kind of create the industry I live in now. They are like the taylor spark plugs wires, but come already cut to length, so you do not have to mess up with crimping tools. In fact to be honest # 6 and 8 could use an extra 2".... They are blue only, 8 mm and cost a whooping $78 with shipping. But i am getting 2 extra mpg. check their site magnecor.com Re the $75 snails.... well i get mine from my backyard... and sell them to the local french restaurant.... How do you think i paid for those magnecor wires.... well the frogs paid for the pertronix..... and the lift kit.... Cheers Re the 71 wagoneer... humm chero. It is a total hybrid with a chero grill, taillight from which year... The dash gauge are not 71, nor 74... more 78 or so is the steering wheel! I have another tank here from an Eagle that will probably fit very easily! 32 1/2" Wx 25 1/2" Lx 8" deep The Dodge van tank measured up to 34"W x 28" L x 14" deep (Can you say dragging on the ground with a full tank?) Mine is not even close. Nearly flush on one side and 3/4" off on the other. Of course, both nuts are frozen, so will be using penetrant and propane torch. Otherwise, I put both throttle return springs on the same side of the throttle shaft axis, so I'm realizing a true throttle - that's nice. Choke is adjusted and fixed, though now that the idle is an idle, fast idle must be set. I think the choke just needs adjustment. Cardan joint is lubed. Replaced 'A' vacuum line. Put clamps on some of the bigger vacuum hoses. Changed the oil twice. Now it's clean. It is great to drive this thing. It didn't come out of an injection mold machine like everything else out there. I fear no speed bumps. Who else on the road is having this experience ? Absolutely unique. There is a poster here showing how many Motorola processors and controllers are in the new Grand Cherokee. I think I'll create a similar one showing the same systems, but how they were managed ten years ago. I still think the trucks are the coolest. - - Landon '89 GW Austin. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 16:10:01 -0600 From: "Bob Bradfield" Subject: fsj: RE: superdawg gets 14 mpg Ok, I've replaced both PS hoses and the thing continues to leak. After a through cleaning and reinspection, it appears to be leaking from the very front of the steering gear, where the knuckle comes out and connects to the shaft. I suspect it was run dry for a long time. Would this cause the front gasket to dry up and crack? John had mentioned that it is repairable but, it's a pain...
