I have a Model 20 (2 piece axles) that's the right width and bolt pattern for an XJ that has 2.87 gears right now, but I have 3.08 with carrier that can go in. The 3.08 carrier can take down to 4.10 IIRC. It also has 10x2.5" brakes on it. First $75 takes it. I've done it. The wrecked 84 GW is now a trailer. I cut the body right at the back of the front doors. Kept all the roof, and folded it down. After mucho torch work, the frame now neatly angles together, and a piece of 3" tubing provided a nice mount for the coupler. I'm using a surge brake coupler that was removed from a boat trailer, I plan to connect the rear brakes up to it. I'm debating on installing a battery on the trailer to run the rear window, or just using power from the towing vehicle. Still have to finish up the front bulkhead--some 2x4's cut to match the curve of the folded down roof, covered with some 1/8" plywood, then fiberglass, should do the lower section that the folded roof does not cover. It was a Hunter Green model that now lives in Reno at the National Car Museum, which has a lot of Harrah's old collection. Michael Baxter and I visited with it last year. I'm finally rolling on it. I've been writing some articles for magazines which is forcing me to make progress. :) Anyway, when Michael and I were there it was off display and in the garage. We were able to walk up to it and take some pictures... I was even allowed to open the doors! It's beautiful. If you ever get to Reno it's worth the trip to that Museum. The Jerrari is really cool as well. I put the stock ignition back in, now I'm working on getting the stock carb/Manifold in place. I found a good carb and manifold and found the last pieces today to get it together. after church I'll pick up an Intake manifold and sit outside and piece it all together.
