On any PU, it gives you the best trade off between efficiency, and not tearing the bloody thing off all the time.If off-road isn't on the menu, a magnetic mount, or drilled hole in the center of the cab roof is good. Or a rain gutter or mirror mount. Twin mirror mounts are no good unless you are an 18wheeler, 'cause they need to be 102" (1/4 wavelength) apart to work right. They resonate if they are that far apart, or any even fraction of a wavelength. In my experience, 1/8 wavelength (51") isn't worth the hassle and expense of twin sticks. kim '80 Wagoneer "J0E", 360 v2,T-727,NP219 - ----- Original Message ----- From: "R.J. The blue gear is the one that Jeep speced the one position, high offset adapter for, was only OEM for FSJ's with the 10x15 tires, and matching gears. If I had gone to lower gears, or went back to shorter tires, the problem would resolve. In fact, when I install the planned 3.54:1 gears, I will need to go back up several driven gear sizes to make up the difference, as it then will be turning too fast. Also good for cleaning sticky door seals before Armor All -ing them. One more point, if you have power windows, make sure all the connections are clean and tight, particularly where the wiring plugs into the back off the window switches. I'm sure a lister can help with that. Besides the fact a lot of purists here would GLADLY buy your old drums if they aren't worn oversize! A: At the price of them ($25 each last I checked) I'd get rebuilts or new rather than chance rusty cylinders. If it's been open all this time, you should change the lines too, or the rust and whatever inside them will mess your new brakes up in a hurry! (BTDT, no fun! A: It takes a welder and a little work, but the later model axles will fit from a J10 or J20 truck, and you can go 6 bolt axles around with disc brake. To keep the original drivetrain, you'd need a pre '80 for parts (there was a '75 in the Buy & Sell last week for $500 that had a 401 and bad trans.
