My wife got a new Kia Soul Exclaim which gets 40 mpg highway for $24K out the
door with 100,000 mile drivetrain guarantee including tires and brakes.. Her
old '01 Subaru Legacy only got 20 and was on it's last legs at nearly 200,000
miles (kept hearing horror stories about the newer ones)

didn't you send me that interesting noise maker once? :)
that's all you need then, is an electric car with a good sound system.

you know, they have some electric go-karts around here that really move
out and they really sound nice too... I was closing in on the track
record and my wife got in the way of my daughter and son in law
and I came around the back corner in full drift at full throttle
and rear ended my son in law... :) got scolded by the track officials...
man, I was so in the groove... looking at the stats one or two more
laps with the improvements I was making and I could have at least
gotten close to the record... I should go back, my wife said she
didn't want to be out there anyway, but we were all being nice
and made here go... drat... we shouldn't do that any more. ;)

my TDI makes interesting sounds... reminds me of an angry sewing machine...

the one I had with an 11mm pump and a manual trans sounded a lot healthier,
I'm thinking I need to clean the EGR on this one, it goes flat powerwise
over 3k... my first one did that when it was choking... once I cleaned
that intake manifold yee haw... it would pull hard to redline...

just one more project... but before I tear apart my TDI I really need
to spend some quality time with my J10... and my carport roof, and my
shop and... arrggghh lost a month due to allergies... so far behind...

I should go in that direction when e-cars arrives to my country, and at
decent prices. Last midnight fuel prices rice about 6%.

The gas for my '92 Chevette now costs 37.70 (Uruguayan Pesos, not US
Dollars) per litre, about $1,90 US Dollars per liter. That makes a price of
7.22 Dollars per gallon, just to compare to US common units.

GGGGRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Have a lot of fun...
Ernesto.

I opened it up to see if it was OEM or not. It appears all normal. Chain
doesn't even have a lot of slack. Came from a CJ7 with 60,000 miles on it, so
it didn't have a rough life other than a few scratches in the case.
Everything is still here, so make me an offer on it complete or parts
thereof. Low range and all look to be in good shape. I couldn't remember which
gear suffered cracking, but they all appear to be fine. Even the thrust
washers are still good.
This was the first QT I opened myself. Pretty simple to do, even though the
seam seal on it was tough to start.
