alumaseal

this kept a gm v6 running for a year longer... this is NOT a fix, it's a patch for
old tired vehicles, or if you have a radiator puncture...

also, if you're really stuck with a hole in your radiator you can try to use peppercorns,
or pinch off the row(s) in a radiator.

in this case bruce has a basket case engine that he will replace with a Diesel engine,
he's just driving the car until he has time to sort out all the tech details... so
this engine WILL NOT BE used again... by him... :)

That is the VW VR6 engine. It needs the heads retightened I think. That's a
better question for the VWvortex group.

Mercedes needed an compact 6 cylinder for their vans and asked VW if they
could use the VR6 Golf/Jetta engine. An agreement was reached and the engines
were sold semi completed to MB. Basically only the engine cover and aircleaner

Long story jim, will tell you all about it when you come for the bench. But, no. It's an aging gas engine in a benz with a coolant leak in the head gasket going into the valve train, not the combustion chamber. :)

Btw, bench isn't ready yet, will have my son help me get it outside later today maybe.

You could lift the wheels one at a time and see if they spin freely both

No jim, it's not a v6, neither is it a vw. Let it go. That was generic advice. He's got a 91 r129 inline six cylinder mercedes gas engine.

Hang in there. Put it aside for a while. You'll come up with the parts and solutions. If it's not in the way or too expensive to keep hold on to it. You'll get all the bugs worked out and it'll be a lot of fun.

GRRRR, after some many little things I've repaired in my Wag I'm starting
to think I'll have to take to a steel foundry and have it melted down!!!,
or perhaps I should store it as is for a few months and have it complete
disassembly so I can check every single piece of it.... I'll try to wait....

Jim, many thanks for your advices, I'll take a look at them when I can,
today I can't work on it, I have to make some grills for my new home, if my
right shoulder let me (after a few hours of one hand manual saw cutting
yesterday)

Have a nice Sunday guys.

Smoking Diesels: Hey, Look, We Charted U.S.-Market Diesel Take Rates,

Diesel's inroads into the land of gasoline.
If you havenb^Yt noticed that diesels are infiltrating American roads, itb^Ys
probably because they no longer trail black smoke. But $4 gasoline has made
diesels viable here, as have German brands that have improved upon this
technology in response to European market-engineering. Which is a funny
thing: Whereas European countriesb^Ttheir cities a hybrid-driverb^Ys

oil burners, the U.S. incentivizes EVs and hybrids even though our kind of
driving calls for the long range and high torque that diesels provide. But
